Darmanitan and Arcanine are much faster since they don't have to use Adamant for Flare Blitz.

For a start, Darmanitan's OU. About Arcanine, Entei does have 5 higher base Speed, and if speed is a problem then maybe try some sort of "Scarftei". Also, Flare Blitz is not the only fire move. If speed is a problem, then use some special Timid set. Some sort of CM user or Sunnybeamer would do the trick.

The problem is, a CM Set isn't even viable in UU let alone RU given its typing. With the dreaded Fire typing, you have to face a hefty amount of weaknesses. With strong and common SE attacks such as Earthquake, Stone Edge, Surf, you won't be able to set up too many CMs without trying to take down the enemy and you won't be doing that given its mediocre base special attack stat.

Sure, Entei is not outclassed by its fellow fire-types at CM, but other people like Suicune can also run CM and has way better bulk/typing.

lol. SubCM Entei is one of the best and most underrated threats in RU. 101 HP Subs and base 100 Speed are amazing for a Calm Minder, and base 90 SpA isn't THAT low. In UU yeah it's mostly outclassed by Suicune and Raikou, and more importantly there's crap like Scarf Flygon running around that destroys it, but saying it's not viable in RU is ridiculous. It's a good set, it just doesn't fit in the current UU meta.

Yeah, where is Sub/CM in the OP? Being on of the few special attackers that can get past Chansey is something in and of itself. While you are probably finding yourself walled in UU, it can still work pretty nicely its counters have been removed. It is especially great with Toxic Spikes support, since you can Calm Mind up on Milotic, and as watch it die to poison as it Hazes you repeatedly.

Entei is a clear case of "jack of ll trades, master of none". It can be a physical attacker, a secial sweeper, a tank, make use of a "Cro" set... but it doesn't stand out on any of those (physical attacker is better done by Arcanine, special sweeper is better done by a multitude of pokes with Calm Mind or Nasty Plot , "Cro" is better done by Suicune, Musharna, Delcatty... ok not

Poor Entei. At least on gen 4 we could make a very good use of Crotei, but not more...
