Flavor: And the round goes slowly, without much damage being dealt. The match begins with Buneary trying to make Phantump an easier target with its foresight (only to later not take advantage of it with its normal type moves), only for Phantump to Protect itself. Swablu at least manages a single Hyper Voice, before having this attack disabled by Spritzee.
Next round starts with Buneary attacking with fake out (not against the Pokemon it tried to use foresight against, but instead Spritzee), only for Spritzee to Protect itself. Swablu, being unable to use hyper voice, struggles to attack, completely unable to follow its trainer's commands to continue using the move. As Swablu attacks Phantump with this clumsy attack, it turns out to be a fortuitous turn of events, as this causes Phantump to misaim with a leech seed it had been preparing at Buneary. The completely surprised look on Swablu's face belies the accidental nature of this turn of events.
The next round is the first one not to start off with some Pokemon protecting itself from its opponent's moves. Instead, it leads with Buneary launching a surprisingly decent Fire Punch against Phantump. Its teammate, on the other hand, continues to Struggle against its opponents, barely managing to damage Spritzee. This time, with its aim unimpeded, Phantump manages to successfully hit Swablu with a leech seed attack. Finally, Spritzee manages to drain the energy its teammate couldn't from Buneary with a draining kiss attack.
Let's hope the next round is more exciting, with less use of protect, more attacking, and moves not missing.
