Looking to sure up a victory Frosty goes with one of his favourites and an ASB staple however he does change it up a little bit by sending out the rarely used Mega Stone along with Zant. I'm not sure if he genuinely thought it was the better option or was just suckered in by the unfathomable 5 megas limit. Birkal counters well given Sableye struggles to hit Lucario with anything super effective. Of course Lucario likewise can only hit neutrally but the same goes for almost any Fighting type vs a Sableye coughscrappycough. In a new turn of events for the match though both luck and a misplay go in the leader's favour. The RNG decides to act up massively and gift Birkal two crits and a Defence drop on Sableye while on the other side Frosty spends almost half of his energy to simply draw the damage race. This was not at all helped along with a paltry heal from Moonlight, but those are the fickle breaks of the old flavour justifications in ASB. Now the challenger sees himself ordering first with a most defintely KOable Prankster as perhaps that 3-0 sweep looks very far away.

Oh my god Mega Sableye shows its usefulness for quite possibly the first time ever. Birkal looks to be going in for the kill but forgets Magic Bounce, probably because you know, no one ever uses Mega Sableye, and instead spends the round as a sitting duck. I mean sure the hits from Zant aren't exactly rocking but thanks to the leader's misstep this one is Frosty's for the taking.
