~ROUND 5 BEGINS~

HP: 11
Energy: 5
Boosts: None

VS.

HP: 29
Energy: 58
Boosts: None
Other: Curse (-5 HP/action, chills will net only 5 EN if attempted (factoring in arena description))

Field Effects: Rain (1 more round)

--------------------

As the rain begins to peter out, Delicious gears up for another sneaky tactic, this time a Shadow Sneak, but is met right as it zigs with a zag from Shellstrike in the form of Aqua Jet, Knocking Out the amorphous ghost for good! Things aren't all good for Shellstrike, though, as the Curse that was laid on it earlier looks to be taking its toll yet again!

--------------------

Action 1:

Shellstrike: Aqua Jet (11 damage, -2 energy, crit fails, KO)
Delicious: KO'd

End of Action: Curse (Shellstrike -5 HP)

~ROUND 5 ENDS~

HP: 0
Energy: 5
Boosts: None

Field Effects: None

Brandon prepared to deal with the Syclant, but then remembered that Zoroak was still out there. "Hmm... OK Shellstrike, you need to Aqua Jet before you do anything else. If that is Zoroak, we need to kill it before it kills you with Grass Knot! After that just go for two Waterfalls to get some damage on Syclant in case it actually is Syclant!"

Summary:
Aqua Jet -> Waterfall -> Waterfall

Okay Syclant, it actually looks like we're going to win this one! Start with a Tail Glow, then use Earth Power, and end with another Earth Power!

Frostbite the Syclant takes the field to avenge his fallen comrade, but Shellstrike has other plans, quickly coming at it with an Aqua Jet! Frostbite remains calm and starts gathering energy in its Tail, causing it to Glow with intense radiance! In a flash, Frostbite rips open the ground with an Earth Power, causing gross corpses and stuff to be lifted out of their graves and just about sending Shellstrike down to join their ranks! With a final push, Shellstrike comes at Frostbite with a huge Waterfall before getting Knocked Out cold by Delicious's horrible Curse (REVENGE FROM THE GRAVE)! It's now down to two Pokemon apiece as the tension in this awful place begins to rise.

--------------------

Action 1:

Shellstrike: Aqua Jet (12 damage, -2 energy, crit fails)
Frostbite: Tail Glow (-10 energy, SpA +3)

End of Action: Curse (Shellstrike -5 HP)

Switch at your leisure.

Pretty sure that Syclant's boost decays at the end of the round since it was used on the first action. Also, according to my calculation Earth Power does 18 damage:
(9[BP] + 3[Stat Dif.] - 1[Sturdy] - 2[Solid Rock]) * 1.5[SE] + 4.5[Boost Dif.]
(9)*1.5 + 4.5
13.5 + 4.5
18

I hate to be nitpicky but that extra Waterfall could be the difference between me winning and me losing :/

Yeah looking back I forgot the -1 damage from Sturdy, so thanks for checking on that. The previous reffing post has been edited for accuracy. The reason Syclant's SpA is still at +3 is because the round was only two actions long, meaning it was, in a way, boosted on "Action 2" (as in the Action before the last Action of the round). I got some feedback on irc that this is how such a thing should be handled, and I can't find any information on scenarios such as this, so unless someone can clarify for sure one way or the other, I'll have to leave it as is.

No there were two actions. Carracosta fainted from Curse at the end of Action 2, ending the round.

Right.

Brandon stood shellshocked, as he realized that he couldn't stop this Syclant from ravaging his team. He only had one option; sacrifice Shockstrike and pray that confusion from Shadowstrike's DynamicPunch could even the odds. He recalled Shellstrike, thanking it for its effort, then grabbed Shockstrike's Pokeball. "Let's go Shockstrike!" The Cyclohm hit the field again, looking exhausted but despite that still roared fiercely at Syclant, ready to fight until it couldn't fight anymore.

Brandon couldn't believe his ears when he heard his opponent's orders. He was going to get one parting shot at Syclant before going down, and he fully intended to take advantage of it. "Shockstrike, you get one shot, so make it count! Sheer Force Fire Blast, and make it really, really hurt!"

Summary:
Sheer Force Fire Blast x3

Shockstrike returns from its Pokeball to try and do its part in slowing down the Syclant that threatens to ravage its team. Frostbite comes at it instantly with an Icy Wind that chills Shockstrike to the bone, lowering its Speed, and almost completely knocks it out! It holds on, though, and returns the icy blast with a Fire Blast of its own, torching the little bug for enormous damage! Frostbite manages to hold on and jump forward with a quick Ice Shard to neutralize the threat, but not before taking one huge, huge hit. Things are evening out, it seems, so let's see who can take an advantage when they see it...

--------------------

Action 1:

Frostbite: Icy Wind (23 damage, -4 energy, crit fails, Shockstrike -1 Spe)
Shockstrike: Fire Blast (38 damage, -8 energy, crit fails)

Action 2:

Frostbite: Ice Shard (2 damage, -2 energy, crit fails, KO)
Shockstrike: KO'd

Brandon recalled Shockstrike, thanking it for pulling through when he needed it. He grabbed his last Pokeball; it all came down to this. "OK Shadowstrike, let's end this!" The huge Golurk hit the field, ready to fight. "Let's go with a DynamicPunch to start, wit No Guard it'll never miss and with Iron Fist it'll hurt too! Next, hit it even harder with a Heavy Slam! Finish off with a Shadow Punch, boosted by both your Iron Fist and this graveyard!"

Summary:
DynamicPunch -> Heavy Slam -> Shadow Punch

Okay Syclant, here is what we're going to do.

18 HP Substitute ~ Blizzard ~ Blizzard
if he uses Protect on the second or third action, just Chill
ALL HAIL NO GUARD

Our final new Pokemon, Shadowstrike (named after a custom move for a different Pokemon, i guess, how embarrassing...) hits the field, and hits it hard, pulling back for a huge DynamicPunch that smashes into Frostbite hard! Or, I guess Frostbite looks fine, huh. Must've been a very well-made Substitute that had even me fooled! All joking aside, Frostbite senses its time is near, so it whips up an enormous Blizzard that slams the Golurk hard for equally enormous damage! Speaking of slamming, Shadowstrike rides the wave of chilly air skyward, dives out of the air stream, and belly-flops straight down on Frostbite with a Heavy Slam! What a move! Shadowstrike crawls up off of the little bug, who has been completely squashed! That's a KO if I ever saw one!

--------------------

Action 1:

Frostbite: Substitute (-18 HP, -17 energy)
Shadowstrike: DynamicPunch (0 damage, -8 energy, crit fails, breaks Sub)

Action 2:

Frostbite: Blizzard (30 damage, -7 energy, crit fails, freeze fails)
