its preference and the fact that po only supports stadium for gen 1. also, i heard from Rewer that gsc is glitched on netbattle more than po due to some confuse+pursuit glitch that causes the game to crash.

Considering Netbattle was originally coded for Gen2 only that is a little surprising...
