Frostbite from the Freeze Remains

I'd like to first thank the_artic_one for creating the War Machine to make this much less work to do.
Ok well I'm in the tutor program right now and have just finished making my 1st "real" team. By real I mean one that actually works half decent lol so I've been playing around with it and then I played xXx.o.xXx and this happened...

Matt_Lane's moves will be red.
xXx.o.xXx's moves will be blue.
Commnts will be in green and in italic
Leftovers will be removed
Scores will be shown after each KO. (Matt_Lane - xXx.o.xXx)

Matt_Lane's Team [In order of appearance]

xXx.o.xXx's Team [In order of appearance]

Rules: Ladder Match, Sleep Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Evasion Clause, Species Clause, Strict Damage Clause
Matt_Lane sent out Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor ?).
xXx.o.xXx sent out Weavile (lvl 100 Weavile ?).
Weavile is exerting its pressure!
xXx.o.xXx switched in Suicune (lvl 100 Suicune).
Suicune is exerting its pressure!
Scizor used U-turn.
Suicune lost 33% of its health.
Matt_Lane switched in Zapdos (lvl 100 Zapdos).
Zapdos is exerting its pressure!
---
Well I first was just going to Bullet Punch to try to KO, but then I thought: It's 1 of 2 things, either A) Counter/Sash or B) He's gonna switch out. And considering this is Choice Band Scizor I decided to do the best overall move and scout with U-Turn, and it turned out he did indeed switch, so time to scare that thing away using...

khamillabprado has entered the room.
xXx.o.xXx switched in Blissey (lvl 100 Blissey ?).
Zapdos used Hidden Power.
Blissey lost 8% of its health.
Zapdos lost 10% of its health.
---
Ok well my Zapdos carries Hidden Power - Ground to take on Infernape and Heatran with ease so instead of doing Thunderbolt (since he was obviously gonna switch) I decided to go with Hidden Power - Ground to ensure a ground type wouldn't get a COMPLETELY free switch. Turns out to be Blissey, I don't want my Zapdos getting Thunder Wave'd so I decided to switch to my ground poke to avoid it.

khamillabprado has left the room.
Matt_Lane switched in Mamoswine (lvl 100 Mamoswine ?).
Blissey used Ice Beam.
Mamoswine lost 20% of its health.
---
Well I guess this one isn't carrying T Wave, thats fine with me. Well he's expecting a physical attack which is gonna set right up into what I want, free Stealth Rock support. So lets just see how it plays out.

xXx.o.xXx switched in Cresselia (lvl 100 Cresselia ?).
Mamoswine used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around your foe's team!
---
Well I guess it's a good thing I didn't just go out and try to attack since it would have ended up bad with Earthquake not hitting and all...anyway I can't really do anything against this thing so lets switch to someone that can set up.

Matt_Lane switched in Snorlax (lvl 100 Snorlax ?).
Cresselia used Reflect.
A barrier was formed!
---
Ok so this is a screen Cress, that means it isn't gonna be much of a threat at all offensivly. So now time to see how far he's gonna let me set up.

xXx.o.xXx switched in Weavile (lvl 100 Weavile ?).
Weavile is exerting its pressure!
Pointed stones dug into Weavile.
Weavile lost 25% of its health.
Snorlax used Curse.
Snorlax's speed was lowered.
Snorlax's attack was raised.
Snorlax's defence was raised.
---
Ok well here comes the lil devil now, I'm pretty sure I can handle Brick Break quite well with a Curse aleady done so lets see if Earthquake won't KO it.

Weavile used Brick Break.
It's super effective!
Snorlax lost 27% of its health.
Snorlax used Earthquake.
Weavile lost 32% of its health.
---
I really thought it was gonna KO but I guess it's not as powerful as I thought with just 1 Curse...well I can easily take more hits so lets just go ahead and Curse again to put it in bette KO odds range.

Weavile used Swords Dance.
Weavile's attack was sharply raised.
Snorlax used Curse.
Snorlax's speed was lowered.
Snorlax's attack was raised.
Snorlax's defence was raised.
---
Ok now it's gonna start hitting me harder with that Dance cancelling out my +2 Defense...I really hope Earthquake will KO now...here it goes.

Weavile used Brick Break.
It's super effective!
Snorlax lost 38% of its health.
Snorlax used Earthquake.
Weavile lost 40% of its health.
---
Crap, crap crap crap, it has like 3-4%...so close, oh well Scizor can easily take this thing down now.

Weavile used Brick Break.
It's super effective!
Snorlax lost 35% of its health.
Matt_Lane's Snorlax fainted.
(5-6)
Weavile's reflect wore off!
---
This was a my misplay, I decided to sacrafice Snorlax rather than switch to Gengar then Scizor to absorb it with little damage, this could easily cost me now. At this point I also realize the reason Snorlax wasn't hitting that hard was because of Reflect being up, good thing that's over with.

Matt_Lane switched in Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor ?).
Weavile used Ice Shard.
It's not very effective...
Scizor lost 19% of its health.
Scizor used Pursuit.
It's not very effective...
Weavile lost 4% of its health.
xXx.o.xXx's Weavile fainted.
(5-5)
---
Ok well I pursuit to ensure it won't just switch and survive. Guess he did Ice Shard to that Bullet wouldn't get a free KO but I was a lil disappointed he didn't switch, ah well.

xXx.o.xXx switched in Suicune (lvl 100 Suicune).
Suicune is exerting its pressure!
Pointed stones dug into Suicune.
Suicune lost 12% of its health.
Matt_Lane switched in Breloom (lvl 100 Breloom ?).
Suicune used Substitute.
Suicune lost 25% of its health.
Suicune made a substitute!
Breloom was badly poisoned!
---
There's that cursed Suicune again, but I got another thing for it instead of Zapdos in the form of Breloom. I decided to take the risk and assume it wasn't carrying Ice Beam...if it does then I guess the risk was for nothing...

Breloom used Seed Bomb.
It's super effective!
The substitute took damage for Suicune!
Suicune's substitute faded!
Suicune used Surf.
It's not very effective...
Breloom lost 29% of its health.
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
Breloom restored 13% of its health.
---
Ok this went perfect! Now I can begin draining it down since I now know that it doesn't have beam.

xXx.o.xXx switched in Cresselia (lvl 100 Cresselia ?).
Pointed stones dug into Cresselia.
Cresselia lost 12% of its health.
Breloom used Leech Seed.
Cresselia was seeded!
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
Breloom restored 13% of its health.
Cresselia's health was sapped by leech seed!
Cresselia lost 12% of its health.
Breloom regained health!
Breloom restored 4% of its health.
---
Ok well that'll work too, now I have that Leeched lets scout to see what's going on now. I'm hoping this isn't carrying Ice Beam eiter but that's unlikely.

Breloom used Substitute.
Breloom lost 25% of its health.
Breloom made a substitute!
Cresselia used Ice Beam.
It's super effective!
The substitute took damage for Breloom!
Breloom's substitute faded!
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
Breloom restored 13% of its health.
Cresselia's health was sapped by leech seed!
Cresselia lost 12% of its health.
Breloom regained health!
Breloom restored 13% of its health.
---
Ok so it is carrying it...well atleast the Sub was free and Cress is that much more weaker...so lets switch to the next thing.

Matt_Lane switched in Mamoswine (lvl 100 Mamoswine ?).
Cresselia used Ice Beam.
Mamoswine lost 29% of its health.
Cresselia's health was sapped by leech seed!
Cresselia lost 12% of its health.
Mamoswine regained health!
Mamoswine restored 12% of its health.
---
I figured Mamo could take the Beam and the possible Charge Beam it had to make it unable to kill anything. So now I'm just gonna go for an attack (hoping to catch it on the switch).

Cresselia used Reflect.
A barrier was formed!
Mamoswine used Stone Edge.
Cresselia lost 16% of its health.
Mamoswine lost 10% of its health.
Cresselia's health was sapped by leech seed!
Cresselia lost 12% of its health.
Mamoswine regained health!
Mamoswine restored 12% of its health.
---
Oh ya forgot it could just Reflect before switching...well I know he's gonna switch now and since Mamo can't really do much I'm gonna try to switch into something that can handle his switch.

Matt_Lane switched in Zapdos (lvl 100 Zapdos).
Zapdos is exerting its pressure!
xXx.o.xXx switched in Suicune (lvl 100 Suicune).
Suicune is exerting its pressure!
Pointed stones dug into Suicune.
Suicune lost 12% of its health.
---
That went great! But now I already know that Blissey is coming out to soak up the attack so lets go back to Scizor and try to score some damage...

Matt_Lane switched in Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor ?).
xXx.o.xXx switched in Magnezone (lvl 100 Magnezone).
Pointed stones dug into Magnezone.
Magnezone lost 6% of its health.
---
Well wasn't that just the worse case senerio? lol well I'm pretty surprised he did that knowing Zapdos would be carrying Heat Wave...guess he figured I'd switch? Oh well lets get Scizor the heck out'a there, THANK YOU U-Turn! lol

Scizor used U-turn.
It's not very effective...
Magnezone lost 13% of its health.
Matt_Lane switched in Zapdos (lvl 100 Zapdos).
Zapdos is exerting its pressure!
Magnezone used Substitute.
Magnezone lost 25% of its health.
Magnezone made a substitute!
---
Ok well Zapdos was the best thing that could handle Zone since it carries both Heat Wave AND Hidden Power - Ground, so hopefully I can get control back of the battle soon...

Zapdos used Heat Wave.
It's super effective!
The substitute took damage for Magnezone!
Magnezone's substitute faded!
Magnezone used Thunderbolt.
Zapdos lost 50% of its health.
---
I decided to Heat Wave the Sub then Hidden Power - Ground it when there wasn't a Sub incase of Heatran switching in (there was still 1 pokemon I hadn't seen) or incase Suicune decided to absorb the Heat Wave.

xXx.o.xXx switched in Blissey (lvl 100 Blissey ?).
Pointed stones dug into Blissey.
Blissey lost 12% of its health.
Zapdos used Hidden Power.
Blissey lost 8% of its health.
Zapdos lost 10% of its health.
Blissey's reflect wore off!
---
Well I guess the Hidden Power didn't really matter so time to try to get SOMETHING to kill that thing...but first...

Zapdos used Roost.
Zapdos restored 50% of its health.
Blissey used Ice Beam.
Zapdos lost 17% of its health.
---
I saw it as a free time to recover some health since Dos as getting kinda low with all that Life Orb recoil

Zapdos used Roost.
Zapdos restored 37% of its health.
Blissey used Ice Beam.
A critical hit!
Zapdos lost 34% of its health.
---
Zapdos was still kinda low so I just did it again...sadly that critical pretty much neutralized it out

Zapdos used Roost.
Zapdos restored 34% of its health.
Blissey used Ice Beam.
Zapdos lost 19% of its health.
---
Ok THERE we go, now I got Zapdos at its full possible health for now so lets go back to something else...

Matt_Lane switched in Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor ?).
Blissey used Ice Beam.
It's not very effective...
Scizor lost 10% of its health.
Scizor was frozen solid!
---
Well that just sucked..(this is one of the reason's for the title..lol). Well hopefully I can thaw quickly.

xXx.o.xXx switched in Suicune (lvl 100 Suicune).
Suicune is exerting its pressure!
Pointed stones dug into Suicune.
Suicune lost 12% of its health.
Scizor is frozen solid!
---
No luck =/, well I can't just sit here and let that thing set up on me so guess Scizor's gonna have to wait.

Matt_Lane switched in Breloom (lvl 100 Breloom ?).
Suicune used Substitute.
Suicune lost 25% of its health.
Suicune made a substitute!
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
---
And now that I know it isn't carrying Ice Beam I can get a free switch in here, hopefully in the end I can KO Suicune and get a sub or something up.

Breloom used Seed Bomb.
It's super effective!
The substitute took damage for Suicune!
Suicune's substitute faded!
Suicune used Surf.
It's not very effective...
A critical hit!
Breloom lost 58% of its health.
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
Breloom restored 13% of its health.
---
Darn these critical hits! lol oh well, now the Cune is DEFINATELY in KO range so I decided to Sub execting the switch to give me some elbow space.

Breloom used Substitute.
Breloom lost 25% of its health.
Breloom made a substitute!
Suicune used Surf.
It's not very effective...
The substitute took damage for Breloom!
Breloom's substitute faded!
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
Breloom restored 13% of its health.
---
Well that sucked >.< guess he's just gonna sacrafice it so lets give him what he wants...

Breloom used Seed Bomb.
It's super effective!
Suicune lost 29% of its health.
xXx.o.xXx's Suicune fainted.
(5-4)
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
Breloom restored 13% of its health.
---
Ok that said and done, I figured Cresselia was gonna come in but to my surprise...

xXx.o.xXx switched in Mamoswine (lvl 100 Mamoswine ?).
Pointed stones dug into Mamoswine.
Mamoswine lost 12% of its health.
Matt_Lane switched in Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor ?).
Mamoswine used Ice Shard.
It's not very effective...
Scizor lost 15% of its health.
Mamoswine lost 10% of its health.
---
Greeeeeeeeeeeeat.....he's got a Mamo....well this can't be good, obviously I had to switch to something or just die so I let Scizor try to warm his claws back up to avoid the frostbite...and to sponge the incommig Ice Shard.

Mamoswine used Earthquake.
Scizor lost 56% of its health.
Matt_Lane's Scizor fainted.
(4-4)
Mamoswine lost 10% of its health.
---
Well I just decided to let Scizor go, he was aleady Frozen and I could have switched in Gengar or Zapdos to take the hit but I was afraid of Stone Edge hitting as a prediction to it...so time to try to kill that thing before it eats me lol.

Matt_Lane switched in Gengar (lvl 100 Gengar ?).
xXx.o.xXx switched in Blissey (lvl 100 Blissey ?).
Pointed stones dug into Blissey.
Blissey lost 12% of its health.
Gengar used Focus Blast.
It's super effective!
Blissey lost 26% of its health.
---
Yep...I hate that thing...I knew it was gonna give me trouble...*sigh* well lets see if I can't get Mamo to kill it.

Matt_Lane switched in Mamoswine (lvl 100 Mamoswine ?).
Blissey used Ice Beam.
Mamoswine lost 22% of its health.
---
Well nothing much here...time to hope for a hit.

xXx.o.xXx switched in Cresselia (lvl 100 Cresselia ?).
Pointed stones dug into Cresselia.
Cresselia lost 12% of its health.
Cresselia makes ground moves miss with Levitate!
Mamoswine used Earthquake.
Mamoswine's attack missed!
---
I wasn't thinking and went with Eartquake instead of Stone Edge not realizing he'd just switch to Cress...I still wasn't afraid of Cress so time to KO this annoying lil thing

Cresselia used Ice Beam.
Mamoswine lost 27% of its health.
Mamoswine used Stone Edge.
Cresselia lost 33% of its health.
Mamoswine lost 10% of its health.
---
Well that did great damage, I'm just glad he didn't set up Reflect (but now Mamo has really low health =/). So time to finish Cress off with an Ice Shard.

Mamoswine used Ice Shard.
Cresselia lost 14% of its health.
xXx.o.xXx's Cresselia fainted.
(4-3)
Mamoswine lost 7% of its health.
Matt_Lane's Mamoswine fainted.
(3-3)
---
Ok well 1 annoying thing down, 1 more super annoying thing to go...but now my Mamo is dead so I decide to switch to Breloom and hope he goes with Blissey.

Matt_Lane switched in Breloom (lvl 100 Breloom ?).
xXx.o.xXx switched in Blissey (lvl 100 Blissey ?).

Blissey was seeded!
Blissey used Ice Beam.
It's super effective!
Breloom lost 54% of its health.
Matt_Lane's Breloom fainted.
(2-3)
---
Yay! But I made a bad call...I thouht that Blissey's Ice Beam wouldn't quite KO and that I'd live from it....that was horrible decision by me...but atleast I got the thing Leeched.

Matt_Lane switched in Gengar (lvl 100 Gengar ?).
Gengar used Trick.
Gengar obtained Leftovers!
Blissey obtained Choice Scarf!
Blissey used Ice Beam.
Gengar lost 28% of its health.
Blissey's health was sapped by leech seed!
Blissey lost 12% of its health.
Gengar regained health!
Gengar restored 21% of its health.
---
And that is why I <3 you gengar, and now with Leech Seed and Blissey's Leftovers nearly giving me all the health I'm losing back, she can only sit there while I hammer her with Focus Blast (or switch but the only other pokemon are Mamoswine and Magnezone and he can't let them get KO'd on the switch).

Gengar used Focus Blast.
It's super effective!
Blissey lost 24% of its health.
Blissey used Ice Beam.
Gengar lost 30% of its health.

Gengar was frozen solid!
Blissey's health was sapped by leech seed!
Blissey lost 12% of its health.
Gengar regained health!
Gengar restored 28% of its health.
---
Ok so I decided to trick my scarf back, then Focus Blast to have the additional speed....but I got frozen AGAIN! 0.0 (get the title now? lol) So at this point I figured I was screwed...

xXx.o.xXx switched in Mamoswine (lvl 100 Mamoswine ?).
Pointed stones dug into Mamoswine.
Mamoswine lost 12% of its health.
Gengar is frozen solid!
---
And so hee it comes...and my Gengar was frozen which meant I HAD to unfreeze right here or he'd die without cause...

Mamoswine used Ice Shard.
Gengar lost 57% of its health.
Mamoswine lost 10% of its health.
Gengar is frozen solid!
---
And there he goes...frozen...now just another Ice Shard to finish the job...

Mamoswine used Ice Shard.
Gengar lost 43% of its health.
Matt_Lane's Gengar fainted.
(1-3)
Mamoswine lost 10% of its health.
---
Then I realized...that Zapdos could possible finish this up because I had gotton its health raised to ~60% so maybe I could survive the incomming attack and then finish up the job!

Matt_Lane switched in Zapdos (lvl 100 Zapdos).
Zapdos is exerting its pressure!
xXx.o.xXx: -_- I'm sorry
Mamoswine used Ice Shard.
It's super effective!
Zapdos lost 45% of its health.
Mamoswine lost 10% of its health.

Pointed stones dug into Blissey.
Blissey lost 12% of its health.
xXx.o.xXx's Blissey fainted.
(1-1)

Blissey died in on the switch...I didn't realize it was that low...so I started rejoicing! I had done it! somehow...lol.

xXx.o.xXx switched in Magnezone (lvl 100 Magnezone).
Pointed stones dug into Magnezone.
Magnezone lost 6% of its health.
Zapdos used Hidden Power.
It's super effective!

xXx.o.xXx's Magnezone fainted.
(1-0)
Matt_Lane wins!

And so Hidden Power - Ground sealed the deal and brought me victory! Good job Zapdos!

Matt_Lane: gg
xXx.o.xXx: gg
xXx.o.xXx: sorry about the freezes
Matt_Lane: it's cool, just part of the game
xXx.o.xXx has left the room.

This was a lot better than some warstories I have read recently.

Though Artic is right there were a few misplays.

Keep 'em going.

Excellent read, good battle. Though imo some of the comments were a little unnecesary, but it's better than no comments. but the tricking choice scarf back onto yourself perplexed me....

In spite of the misplays and hax, it was quite entertaining.

Thumbs up.
Well thanks, and I tried to not make a crappy one using your WarMachine since that was one of the reasons you didn't want to release it.

Thanks and I'm trying to not misplay so much =/

Well I kinda got caught up in the moment...I was in the mindset of "Ok if I trick Scarf back then I can keep it as a good revenge killer for later" but it didn't hit me that I was already fast enough to outspeed all his remaining pokemon without a scarf...

Overall is was pretty good. On the battling side though, here's a tip: If you let yourself get hit by that many ice beams, you're going to get freeze haxed. >>

Yep, I enjoyed this warstory. I think like some people said, the comments were a little lacking in parts but overall it was a very fun and enjoyable warstory. Thanks for the read :D

A few bad plays spoiled it a bit, but it was very enjoyable and formatted very neatly. Great Work!

Well, good sir, sorry that I took so long to post here, I was doing so much damn homework for the past few days. But the prof is here now. :]

I think that you did a very good job for your first warstory. Seriously, I'm not just saying that. You put your thinking down on paper very well, and I like you utilized your Risk/Reward through this battle. Of course, it didn't always work for you, but when it did work, it paid off for you very well. I particularly liked how you caught Blissey with Leech Seed just as Breloom met his untimely death. I normally HATE having colours in warstories, but the colours you chose were thankfully not too bad, so good job on your colour choice.

Now, I'm going to give you some advice on what you could improve. First, I didn't particularly like the really stally parts, and I really didn't like you commenting on every single turn, especially the stally ones. What happens when you do that is that the comments become very repetitive. This can often turn someone off of a warstory. One thing you could do for next time is only taking the important turns of the stally parts, and summing up the stall in a paragraph or so. In my archived warstory, in the last minute when I was making it, I decided to separate each of the different scenarios into chapters. This way, you can sum up how that particular scenario went in however paragraphs you want, and only show the important turns. I find that showing the entire log isn't really needed, and besides, if you don't include the whole log and have some of the turns summed up in your comments, it'll at least force people to read your comments. This can be a good thing or bad thing, depending on how good your comments are.

Heh, well the only other advice I can really give you is to read up on some of the archived warstories. Those are the best warstories on smogon, and if you model your future warstories after one of those, or hell, even make up your own format, then you may find one of your warstories in there someday.

I only have the attention span to read half of it in one go...... I'll have to finish the rest later, but so far so good!

Ok I'll try to clean up the comments on the next one

I was really surprised that you won. It's a good thing you set up those Stealth Rocks.
Ya

I only have the attention span to read half of it in one go...... I'll have to finish the rest later, but so far so good!
O....k? lol
