[Overview]

<p>With Garchomp's great typing, good bulk, and powerful Attack stat, it manages to be a top threat in yet another metagame. Being one of the best Pokemon since its introduction in the DPP years, it really should come as no surprise that it's just as good in Doubles as it is elsewhere. The things holding this powerful Dragon-type are, having to rely on Dragon Claw as its main STAB and being slower than Latios and Latias. Garchomp definitely shouldn't be overlooked when team building, as it can easily rip apart unprepared teams.</p>

[SET]

name: Offensive Chomp
move 1: Dragon Claw / Dual Chop
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Rock Slide / Fire Blast / Subtitute
move 4: Protect / Substitute
item : Yache Berry / Life Orb
ability: Rough Skin
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd

[SET COMMENTS]

<p> The idea behind this set is fairly simple: do damage, hit hard, and hit fast. The two main moves are Garchomp's best STAB moves, one being a single target attack and the other being a spread move. Dragon Claw is the better choice in the first slot thanks to it being Garchomp's best Dragon-Type attack outside of Outrage, which targets a random enemy in doubles and is thus unreliable. Dual Chop could also be used in this slot, due to it being a multi-hit move that allows Garchomp to break Substitutes and Focus Sashes. </p>

<p> There are several options for the third slot. Rock Slide brings the risk of having two spread moves, but it can hit Flying-types and Pokemon with Levitate harder than it would otherwise. Fire Blast is only used to hit Pokemon like Ferrothorn and Scizor that Garchomp wouldn't otherwise be able to touch. If Garchomp is paired with a Pokemon like Scrafty, Hitmontop, or Togekiss, Substitute can be used to gain free turns thanks to your partner, making Garchomp, even more of a pain then it already is. </p>

<p> For the item, Yache Berry and Life Orb are the only two good options. Garchomp is incredibly weak to Ice-type moves, making Yache Berry a very attractive option that could buy an extra turn by staving off an OHKO. Life Orb gives Garchomp's already scary Attack stat a boost in power, making it an even more terrifying threat.</p>

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

<p> Speed control is something that Garchomp loves to have on its side. It doesn't matter if it's Thunder Wave, Icy Wind, or Tailwind, Garchomp loves the support. Because of this, Cresselia, Thundurus, Togekiss, and Defiant Tornadus all make for awesome teammates. They avoid the spread damage from Earthquake are also able to slow opponents down. Cresselia and Togekiss can not only control Speed but can use a great move in Helping Hand to further boost Garchomp's insane power as well. Other Flying-types and Levitate users also make for good partners; Pokemon such as Zapdos, Thundurus-T, Rotom-W, and Latios are all immune to Earthquake and help deal with rain. Discharge spam works here thanks to Garchomp's immunity to Electric-type attacks. Pokemon like Rotom-W and Thundurus-T are able to to take advantage of Discharge and inflict status without having to worry about Garchomp getting caught in the crossfire. Finally, Pokemon like Tyranitar, who can switch into Draco Meteors and Blizzards, are good teammates to have in the back. </p>

<p>Though Pokemon with the ability Defiant don't look like they would support Garchomp well, they actually make for some great teammates. Bisharp and Tornadous both have this ability, and Bisharp has resistances to Ice-type and Dragon-type attacks, two types Garchomp hates. Pair that with the ability to make Landorus-T, Salamence, Hitmontop, Scrafty, and Gyarados all scared to switch in, and you end up having one of Garchomps best friends. Not only does Bisharp do all that, but he also keeps Latios and Latias in check with STAB Sucker Punches, and stops Cresselia from using Icy Wind to lower Garchomp's Speed. The other Defiant Pokemon is Tornadus, and although it doesn't have great type synergy like Bisharp does, it has a Ground-type immunity, so Garchomp can still freely use Earthquake. Icy Wind can be a problem still, as it hurts Tornadus just as much as it helps. Tornadus can also set up Tailwind in a pinch if it needs to, helping Garchomp outspeed Latios and Latias and base 100 Choice Scarf Dragon-types, as well as firing off powerful Flying Gem Acrobatics that can even knock out Latios. Though using Defiant Pokemon isn't as straightforward as using Cresselia or Togekiss, these Pokemon are able to create mind games that could give you an advantage.</p>

<p>Garchomp can also use many different items. Because it's forced to use Rough Skin, you can use Rocky Helmet to indirectly deal quick damage to Pokemon like Hitmontop who think using Fake Out on Garchomp is a great idea. A Dragon Gem, or Ground Gem can be used to deal heavy damage for a single turn, and items like Choice Scarf and Choice Band can always be used to boost Garchomp's Speed and Attack respectively. Swagger + Lum Berry can be used to boost Attack and heal right away if you want to take that route, and Focus Sash can be used to survive an immediate, powerful hit.</p>

[Other Options]

<p> There isn't much else Garchomp can do, but it can run a few interesting moves that could surprise your opponents. Dragon Tail has higher priority then Trick Room does, so Dragon Tail Garchomp could work like Roar Latias and phaze your opponents before they even get the chance to set up Trick Room. Stone Edge is a single target move Garchomp could use, that is stronger than Rock Slide, but it is less accurate and cannot make the opponent flinch. Outrage is a option, but you can't control it and you also can't switch out, which is likely fatal in Doubles. A Swords Dance set can be attempted, but it's harder to pull off in Doubles. Lastly, Rest paired with a Chesto Berry can be used as a form of recovery for Garchomp.</p>

[Checks and Counters]

<p> Due to its glaring weakness to Ice-type moves, Cresselia, Mamoswine, Weavile, Choice Scarf Cloyster, and any Pokemon with an Icy-type attack are all good counters to Garchomp. Pokemon with Intimidate such as Landorus-T, Hitmontop, and Scrafty all give Garchomp a hard time by lowering its Attack stat. Landorus-T is notable because it also avoids Earthquake. Politoed, Ludicolo, Kingdra, Rotom-W, and other common rain Pokemon can be problematic for Garchomp too. Another very large problem Garchomp has is faster Dragon-types, such as Latios, Latias, Choice Scarf Hydreigon, and Choice Scarf Salamence. Trick Room is a problem for Garchomp due to its relatively high base Speed, so it should try stay away from Trick Room as much as it can.</p>

[Overview]

  • Amazing typing offensively and defensively
  • Strong, Bulk, Fast Enough
  • No Sand Veil makes it a sad panda
  • Lati@s scares chomp
  • Outrage isn't as good in Doubles, has to rely on weaker stabs

[Set]

Name: Offensive Chomp
Move 1: Dragon Claw / Dual Chop

Move 3: Rock Slide / Fire Blast / Substitute
Move 4: Protect / Substitute
Item : Yache Berry / Life Orb
Ability: Rough Skin :(
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 4 Hp / 252 Atk / 252 Spd

[Set Comments]

  • Main Stab is a single target move
  • Dual Chop can be used to break subs / sashes but it's weaker
  • Earthquake is used to hit both targets
  • Rock Slide is used to hit flyers, harder
  • Sub can be used to abuse free turns
  • Fire Blast should only be ever used to hit 4x weak mons, Scizor Ferrothorn
  • Protect
  • Yache is to help that rubbish ice weakness

[Additional Comments]

  • Gems
  • Focus Sash
  • Rocky Halmet can be paired with Rough Skin
  • Swagger + Berry
  • Pokemon that break Cresselia are nice
  • Tyranitar
  • Pokemon that avoid Earthquake are great teammates to have, Cresselia, Togekiss
  • Bisharp can play mind games vs Lati twins and makes Cresselia scared to use icy wind
  • Not a fan of rain
  • Not a fan of faster dragons, Speed control is great to have, Tailwind, Icy Wind ect
  • Landorus (Both forms) make good teammates

[Other Options]

· I would suggest you mention Focus Sash in Additional Comments or Other Options, as it let's it get around faster dragons without speed control (even though it loses 99 percent of it's HP).
· I don't think you should call Cress a counter, considering that if it doesn't have Icy Wind it cannot do anything back to Chomp.
· I doubt you could say it's not a fan of rain, I think Garchomp is kinda indifferent about the weather. If anything, mention Kingdra in rain alongside "faster dragons"
· Mention Stone Edge either in OO or in AC, because it hit's flying types way harder than Rock Slide.

Will hesitate to stamp this just in case someone finds a fail, but as for now, I see nothing wrong after you changed the things Joim and I have said.

Also Laga, all the things you mentioned were already in the skeleton

Joim, I dont see how Landorus(-T) are good partners with Garchomp, they seem overly redundant and compound the same weaknesses (both intimidate weak, hates bulky water-types, etc).

Add Thundurus / Zapdos / Latios / Tornadus / Shaymin-S as good offensive partners to have. Thundurus and Zapdos wrecks Water-types and can make Garchomp faster than other Dragons with T-Wave or Tailwind. Latios is another great rain check that can deal heavy damage to opposing dragons (although it faces a Speed tie with opposing Lati@s and slower than Kingdra) and can offer Tailwind support. Defiant AcroGem Tornadus discourages Lando-T, etc from switching in and can destroy Latios before it can make a move. Shaymin-S wrecks Water-types and Ground-types and can Air Slash flinch stuff that would possibly hurt Garchomp. They all exasperate Garchomp's weakness to Ice-types, though; advise the readers to pack some Blizzard sponges like Scizor and Tyranitar.

I'd add Water-types like Politoed, Gastrodon, and Ludiolo under Cheks and Counters, too

Pretty good. I would say bulky Haban Garchomp should be up there, it is a great choice for taking out other Dragons, and the higher bulk allows it to tank a lot of hits. I would recommend you add that in (either as a set or in Other Options), and:

Put 4 EVs into either Def or SpD, not HP. Garchomp has a large HP, so it is more meaningful to add defensive EVs into Def / SpD.

I wouldn't lump Tornadus with Cresselia and Togekiss. Tornadus cant lower the opponent's Speed with T-Wave; it's main purpose is to discourage Intimidate spam and to OHKO Latios with Gem-boosted Acrobatics. It offers a much needed powerful move that complements with Garchomp's Dragon + Ground offense.

I'd also add Latios for its ability to check Rain, Landorus(-T), Rotom-W, Hitmontop, as well as possibly Tailwind / T-Wave support. Garchomp in turns help Latios out by eliminating Tyranitar and Steel-types like Heatran and Bisharp.

For Bisharp, I'd also mention that its resistances to Blizzard is helpful.

You should mention Pokemon that can switch into Draco Meteors and Blizzards as a good teammate for Garchomp, too. A good example is Scarf Tyranitar, who has tremendous special bulk, destroys Latios and Abomasnow, and change the weather against Rain and Hail teams. Scizor and Metagross are good options, too.

You missed Lum + Swagger in AC

Under Checks and Counters, you forgot to mention Rotom-W, Cloyster, and Trick Room

Lots of grammatical errors, but I'll leave that to GP

252 Atk Flying Gem Tornadus Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Garchomp: 256-303 (71.7 - 84.87%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

In any event, Garchomp won't enjoy this... I find Defiant Tornadus w/ Tailwind to be a viable choice, but for the most part it is not always going to run that, I'd probably agree with Pocket that Tornadus is sort of in a different section (Offensive Support) than those other two.

GP Check 1/2

Please note the comment I made in the second paragraph of the Offensive Chomp set.

I'm also not sure about Doubles capitalization, so the next GP checker should look at that, too.

I'd say this is a comment about Fake Out and Follow Me support in general.

It seems like it was just yesterday that this analysis was in its skeleton stage...

And it was. Damn, you doubles people move FAST.

Oh yeah, the Outrage sentence is basically fine, but I felt it was kind of off to put in a semi-long sentence just to explain a mechanic, although i'm not opposed to doing so in general. So instead I gave you a way to combine those two sentences, but do whatever you want-it's just a nice option I thought of.

After reading this... maybe you want to read through the spelling and grammar standards, honestly, a few good few missed capitalization, Tornadous-I (Should just be Tornadus, no O or -I). And AC and SC not capitalized, etc.

not supposed to have spaces between P tags and text, either

Outrage is a option, but like mentioned earlier, you can't control it, and you also can't switch out, which could potentially be fatal in Doubles. A Swords Dance set can be attempted, but it's harder to pull off in Doubles. Lastly, Rest paired with a Chesto Berry be used as a form of recovery for Garchomp.

[Checks and Counters]

<p> Thanks to its glaring weakness to Ice-type moves, Cresselia, Mamoswine, Weavile, Scarf Cloyster, and any Pokemon with an Ice-type movesattack are all verygood checks andor counters to Garchomp, thanks to its glaring 4x weakness. Pokemon with Intimidate such as Landorus-T, Hitmontop, and Scrafty all give Garchomp a hard time by lowering its Attack stat. Landorus-T is notable because it also avoids Earthquake. Politoed, Ludicolo, Kingdra, Rotom-W, and other common rain Pokemon can be problematic for Garchomp, too. Another very large problem Garchomp has is faster Dragon-types, such as Latios, Latias, Choice Scarf Hydreigon, and Choice Scarf Salamence. Trick Room is a problem in itself for Garchomp thanks to its base 102 Speed, so it should try away from Trick Room as much as it can. </p>

Comments:
I had to dismantle the Rock Slide sentence a bit, but it's kind of justified, since that sentence is based on 'pokemon that Fly' when you probably just mean 'flying-types'.
Wouldn't Dragon Claw hit Flying-types harder, anyhow? And especially levitators, or Landorus-T and the like.
The two speed control sentences repeat twice that Garchomp loves speed control, and as such could be more efficiently combined.
Your AC Goes "Speed control, flying-types, speed control". There's some overlap, but it'd make more sense for Discharge spam to go before 'chomp loves flying-types'
Your first checks and counters sentence needs an overhaul. I tried my best here, but you might want to do it yourself.

I think you implemented Tehy's check since you posted in the queue thread, so here's check number two. Good job on writing this.

[Overview]
(remove one of the empty lines between the Overview Tag and paragraph, the empty line between the set tag and the set, and the spaces between your <p> and </p> tags and the paragraphs themselves)

<p> With Garchomp's great typing, good bulk, and powerful attack Attack stat, it manages to be a top threat of in yet another metagame. Being one of the best Pokemon since its introduction in the DPP years, it really should come as no surprise that it's just as good in Doubles as it is elsewhere. The only downfalls this powerful Dragon-type has are, things holding this powerful Dragon-type back are having to rely on Dragon Claw as its main stab STAB and being slower than Latios and Latias. That being said, Garchomp definitely shouldn't be overlooked when team building, as it can easily rip apart unprepared teams. </p>

[SET COMMENTS]

<p> The idea behind this set is fairly one-dimensional simple: do damage, hit hard, and hit fast. The two main moves are Garchomp's best STAB moves, with one being a single target attack and the other being a spread move. Dragon Claw is the better choice in the first slot thanks to it being Garchomp's best Dragon-Type attack outside of Outrage, which targets an enemy randomly a random enemy in Doubles doubles (apparently the standard is going to be Doubles for the metagame, doubles for the format in general) and is thus unreliable. Dual Chop could also be used in this slot, due to it being a multi-hit move that allows you Garchomp to potentially break substitutes Substitutes and Focus Sashes. </p>

<p> There are several options for the 3rd third slot. Rock Slide can be used at brings the risk of having 2 two spread moves, but it can hit Flying-types or and Pokemon with Levitate harder than Fire blast it would otherwise. Fire Blast is only used to hit Pokemon like Ferrothorn and Scizor that Garchomp wouldn't otherwise be able to touch. If Garchomp is paired with a Pokemon like Scrafty, Hitmontop, or a Togekiss, Substitute can be used to gain free turns thanks to your partner. (change to comma) Making Garchomp, making Garchomp even more of a pain then it already is. </p>

<p> For the item, Yache Berry and Life Orb are the only two good options. Garchomp is notoriously incredibly weak to Ice-type moves, making Yache Berry a very attractive option that could buy Garchomp an extra turn by staving off an OHKO. Life Orb gives Garchomp's already scary base 130 attack Attack stat a boost in power, making Garchomp it an even more terrifying threat. </p>

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

<p> Speed control is something that Garchomp loves to have on its side. It doesn't matter if it's Thunder Wave, Icy Wind, or Tailwind, Garchomp loves the support. That being said Because of this, Cresselia, Thundurus, Togekiss, and Defiant Tornadus all make for awesome teammates. They avoid the spread damage from Earthquake while also being and are also able to slow opponents down. Cresselia and Togekiss can not only control Speed, (remove comma) but can use a great move in Helping Hand as well, to further boost Garchomp's insane power as well. Other birds Flying-types and Levitate users also make for good partners; Pokemon such as Zapdos, Thundurus-T, Rotom-W, and Latios are all immune to Earthquake and help deal with Rain rain. Discharge spam works here, (remove comma) thanks to Garchomp's immunity to Electric-type attacks. Pokemon like Rotom-W and Thundurus-T are able to abuse take advantage of Discharge and inflict status without having to worry about Garchomp getting caught in the cross fire crossfire. Finally, Pokemon like Tyranitar, who can switch into Draco Meteors and Blizzards, are good teammates to have in the back. </p>

<p>Though Pokemon with the ability Defiant don't look like they would support Garchomp well, they actually make for some great teammates. Bisharp and Tornadous-I Tornadus both have this ability, and Bisharp has resistances to Ice-type and Dragon-type attacks, two types Garchomp hates. Pair that with the ability to make Landorus-T, Salamence, Hitmontop, Scrafty, and Gyarados all scared to switch in, and you end up having one of Garchomps best friends. Not only does Bisharp do all that, but he also keeps Latios and Latias in check with STAB Sucker Punches, (remove comma) and he stops Cresselia from using Icy Wind to lower Garchomp's speed Speed. The other Defiant Pokemon is Tornadus, and although it doesn't have great type synergy with Garchomp like Bisharp does, it has a Ground-type immunity, so Garchomp can still freely use Earthquake. Icy Wind can be a problem still, as it hurts Tornadous-I Tornadus just as much as it helps. Tornadous-I Tornadus can also set up Tailwind in a pinch if it needs to, helping Garchomp outspeed Latios and Latias and base 100 Choice Scarf Dragon-types, as well as firing off powerful Flying Gem Acrobatics that can even knock out Latios. Though using Defiant Pokemon isn't as straightforward as using Cresselia or Togekiss, these Pokemon are able to create mind games that could give you an advantage. </p>
(remove extra empty line between these paragraphs)

<p> Garchomp can also use many different items. Since Because it's locked forced to use Rough Skin in Doubles, you can use Rocky Halmet Helmet to indirectly deal quick damage to Pokemon like Hitmontop who think using Fake Out on Garchomp is a great idea. A Dragon Gem, or Ground Gem can be used to deal heavy damage for a single turn, while and items like Choice Scarf or and Choice Band can always be used to boost Garchomp's Speed and Attack respectively. Swagger + Lum Berry can be used to boost Attack and heal right away if you want to take that route, while and Focus Sash can be used to survive an immediate, powerful hit.</p>
(remove one of these bland lines)

[Other Options]

<p> There isn't much else Garchomp can do, but it can run a few interesting moves that could surprise your opponents. Dragon Tail has higher priority then Trick Room does, so Dragon Tail Garchomp could work like Roar Latias and phaze your opponent opponents before they even get the chance to set up Trick Room. Stone Edge is a single target move Garchomp could use, that is stronger than Rock Slide, but it is less accurate and cannot make the opponent flinch. Outrage is a option, but like mentioned earlier, you can't control it, (remove comma) and you also can't switch out, which could potentially be is likely fatal in Doubles. A Swords Dance set can be attempted, but it's harder to pull off in Doubles. Lastly, Rest paired with a Chesto Berry can be used as a form of recovery for Garchomp.</p>

[Checks and Counters]

<p> Thanks Due to its glaring weakness to Ice-type moves, Cresselia, Mamoswine, Weavile, Choice Scarf Cloyster, and any Pokemon with an Icy-type attack are all good counters to Garchomp. Pokemon with Intimidate such as Landorus-T, Hitmontop, and Scrafty all give Garchomp a hard time by lowering its Attack stat. Landorus-T is notable because it also avoids Earthquake. Politoed, Ludicolo, Kingdra, Rotom-W, and other common rain Pokemon can be problematic for Garchomp, (remove comma) too. Another very large problem Garchomp has is faster Dragon-types, such as Latios, Latias, Choice Scarf Hydreigon, and Choice Scarf Salamence. Trick Room is a problem for Garchomp thanks due to its relatively high base 102 Speed, so it should try to stay away from Trick Room as much as it can. </p>
