Guys, I do not think they will change the gym Pokémon at all. Have they done it in FR/LG? no, actually. At best they could do a "after national dex" Elite Four with some additions and 70-ish Pokémon
I don't see how this game has to follow the same formula as FR/LG.

I mean, does Falkner really have to settle with a Level 9 Pidgeotto as his main Pokemon? At least give the man a Hoothoot!

I mean, their main Pokemon should be one of that Generation, so Bugsy should have a Heracross (Or Ariados or Yanma if Hera is too strong), Morty should get Misdreavous, and Chuck should get Hitmontop.

Ash never caught an Eevee (and he also never evolved his Bulbasaur or Squirtle), whereas Red, even in the original Pokemon Special manga, wound up with an Eevee (which did evolve into Espeon). The team simply consisted of the four first gen starters (Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle and Pikachu) and two Pokemon that you were practically guaranteed to pick up during your travels (the Snorlax that was blocking your way and the Eevee you get in Celadon City). It's mostly just a coincidence, especially with Snorlax, that Ash's and Red's teams lined up so well.
I see where you're coming from here.. But I'm not nearly as sure of it being a coincidence. They may have evolved Bulbasaur and Squirtle to give more of a challenge there too. Either way, that's really a minor issue up for debate, whoever he is I'm looking forward to taking him out again.

Also, I know it's Red but let's all be honest, that team is all Ash.
I don't think so, well that Pikachu in there does, but it's more like the 4 starters from RB (and Yellow of course), plus Snorlax and Espeon ,two pokemon that you could only get 1 in said games (well two Snorlax actually). So i don't think it's based on the anime, i believe it makes some sense.

I have always find it funny how he is STILL a silent protagonist... he just does "..." >< even on Stadium 2

EDIT: Also Naxte said the same and i didn't noticed xD lol

FR/LG lowered the Elite Four's levels by 2 if I remember right...

Also, I know it's Red but let's all be honest, that team is all Ash.
Uhhh... Not, reaallly. It's supposed to be like Red from the manga.

Red's team is Charizard / Pikachu / Snorlax / Espeon (Plus some others that don't matter in proving my point). He also started off with Bulbasaur which ended up evolving into a Venusaur that he traded to Green. So that means that his team reflected Red's ingame team much more than Ash's. He borrowed Blastoise from Blue at one point according to Serebii, sooo...

You are wrong. That team is all Red.

You're both wrong, it's based off of the pokemon given to the player in Yellow, who is based off of Ash, who is based off of Red. The character is incidentally also named Red.

Anyways, I hope they ramp his difficulty back up to the highest leveled character in the game. Platinum has level100 wild magikarps for goodness' sakes.

Add the possibility to catch the Legendary Dogs! (why nodoby talks about that??) and some new graphics feature, and we should get the perfect game!
The Dogs/Cats are a given, DOn't expect much from graphics; speaking of updates I'm wondering about the music remixes, listening to some of the old tracks, and they could do some cool stuff with that.

Lol Proffesor Oak makes another appearance.

Though I'm not expecting much a Gym beef-up would be nice post E4-KantoGyms, anyway.

Pikachu, Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise were the four Boxart Pokemon of the 1st Gen.

Only 3 of the Pokemon Ash actally Owns (Pikachu, Charizard, Snorlax)

However, Red from Pokespecial Monthy has four (Pikachu, Venusaur, Snorlax, and Espeon)

If anything, Red from the Manga is closer to Red from GSC than Ash is.

I don't think stuff like Shadow Ball or Attract, which has become in the years wide-available TMs (i.e. Casino and Battle Frontier stuff) will become TM. Much like Lt.Surge Thunderbolt changed to Shock Wave, I think we'll see:
1) Whitney giving away Facade instead of Attract
2) Morty giving away Shadow Claw instead of Shadow Ball
3) Jasmine giving away Flash Cannon istead of Iron Tail
Oh, And I think Drain Punch is more probable than Focus Punch for Chuck, but, aside from that, nothing else.
None of Chuck's Pokemon can even learn Drain Punch. The only Fighting-type that can that was also in Gold or Silver is Hitmonchan. Focus Punch makes much more sense.

Bruno's Machamp can, well since we all know that ones guys blog was obviously fraud, does anyone see the Anmie returning to Johto?

I'm going to be getting Soul Silver since my first 2nd Gen game was Silver.

I'm hoping they include the following:
- Extremespeed Dratini
- A reasonable way to catch Celebi
- Tail Glow Ampharos
- Stronger Elite Four and Red

Death Phenomeno

Who wants to bet that Flareon & Entei will be unable to learn Flare Blitz yet again?

As much as I want to hope otherwise, we all know the answer.

Just one question: how many shiny Gyarados' will there be online? Everyone can get one, so that kinda ruins it, doesn't it?

It's awesome though. I can't wait! :D

Oh i wonder what TMs will the gym leaders give to you, most of the TM in GSC are not TM any more: Mud-Slap,Fury Cutter,Attract,Shadowball,Dynamic Punch,Iron Tail,Icy Wind and Dragon Breath

my guess would be (assuming the TM list remains the same as DPPt)

Falkner - aerial ace
Bugsy- x-scissor
Whitney- Attract
Morty- Shadow ball
Chuck- focus blast? o_O
Jasmine- Iron tail
Pryce- Avalanche
Clair- Dragon pulse

Some of those just seem too overpowered for the time. If you get Aerial Ace at the first gym, you can erase any thought of challenge from the 2nd. (not that it was too hard.. but those TM I think would be too strong for the time)

DPP had strong TM's in general for the first few badges, problem being that they were terrible in-game or in Grass Knot's case terrible until you began meeting some really heavy pokemon.

Roark - Stealth Rock
Gardenia - Grass Knot
Fantina - Shadow Claw
Maylene - Drain Punch
Wake - Brine
Byron - Flash Cannon
Candice - Avalanche
Volkner - Charge Beam

None of them are spectacular not particularly useful when you first get them save for maybe Avalanche. Aerial Ace, X-Scissor just seem like too much too soon. Who knows though really.. Maybe it is time they break the tradition of crappy TM's for the first gyms.

- Tail Glow Ampharos
Not likley, as the Japanese name for Tail Glow is "Firefly Light"

If you Notice, Volbeat is a Firefly and Manaphy has no Tail(Those are
antennae).

If anything, Lanturn is more suitable for the move than Ampharos is.

The same kind of name confusion exists with Sucker Punch, which Hitmonlee and Hitmontop get, but not Hitmonchan. In Japan, its name is Ambush, Which is why armless Pokemon like Electrode and Ariados get it.

Yea hopefully they pull through this time around, HG/SS Legendary Beast Exclusive moves?

Suicune-Aqua Tail, Ice Shard, Sheer Cold, Bounce, Water Spout
Raikou-Charge, Zap Cannon, Volt Tackle
Entei-Eruption, Flare Blitz

That would be great, but Zap Cannon has to get a Tutor, whether or not those come true, I'm expecting a Move Tutor for all the old TMs from the originals.

If the two birds are version exclusive, maybe they will give us Mewtwo, he can work as the Rayquaza or Giratina of these versions.

i really am hoping for the extreemespeed dratini, considering i didnt remember they had it in crystal and i think all the dratini i got had only twister because i doubt i answered all questions right :P

and also, people are saying that claire's kingdra was very tough, while i didnt find it too tough at all :S...........but i do remember getting all my pokemon paralyzed from dragon breath......

I actually think Falkner will give you Roost, seeing as it's not over powered early on, and still a "rare" TM worthy of a Gym Leader. It doesn't have to be an attacking move just because it used to. Bulk Up or Focus Punch are possible choices for Chuck.

X-Scissor, Attract, Shadow Claw, Iron Tail, Avalance and Dragon Pulse are pretty much given, in my opinion.

You are right, and i really didn't thought about it when posting, aerial ace would be a death sentence for Bugsy.

With the current TM list i don't really know what other tms would be logic though. Oh yeah Roost seems likely Nicar!

Don't jinx it : ( nah i think they will ignore it again >< Flare Blitz tutor is once more time one of the things i want.

They sometimes change the level-up movepools in these games. So Flare Blitz is still a possibility. Especially for Entei, since it's a GSC pokemon.

I could take Flare Blitz on those two. I really doubt it but heck, I can dream.

Think Falkner might have Aerial Ace or Pluck now though?

For all the people saying how Falkner's TM would screw Bugsy over, I remember you could just catch a Geodude passing through that cave and just own Bugsy with Rock Throw. >_>
