Hello everyone, I'm just bored out of my mind and the new 311 album that dropped June 2nd inspired got me back into competitive battling believe it or not. I re-did my whole team, learning about the banning of Garchomp was a tough shot to me. The basic concept of my team is to out power the opposition and to win. Well, to be honest I have no clue what the concept of my team is I was so gone when I made it. Anyways, on to the team:
Overview
The Team
Metagross (Piece of Shit) @ Occa Berry
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Clear Body
EV's: 252 HP / 232 ATK / 12 DEF / 14 SPE
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Bullet Punch
Metagross the bulky lead. I send him out, usually set up stealth rocks and then hammer away at whatever is ahead. I usually don't switch him out, leaving him to die, but he gets a lot done, but the matches where he is nullified I usually end up losing.
Gyarados (Rapist) @ Leftovers
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Intimidate
EV's: 252 ATK / 52 HP / 206 SPD
- Bounce
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
A very unorthodox Gyarados to say the least. Bounce gives me STAB and allows me to hit pokemon like Celebi or Machamp pretty well, while I get to recover from Leftovers during the first turn of the move, and it also allows for possible paralysis. He really comes through for me in the tougher battles and I much prefer Bounce over Ice Fang.
Gengar (Butt Pirate) @ Choice Scarf
Nature: Modest
Ability: Levitate
EV's: 252 SPA / 252 SPD / 6 HP
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power (ICE)
- Shadow Ball
Scarfed Gengar is a very difficult pokemon IMO to switch in but when I do get it in play, it gets the job done quickly and then switch it out. Like you can imagine, Blissey walls this thing like a mother however. Focus Blast gets rid of Tyranitars that just cause a big pain in the ass for my team, especially if they get to set up
Porygon 2 (Thundercunt) @ Leftovers
Nature: Bold
Ability: Trace
EV's: 252 HP / 216 DEF / 42 SPA
- Thunderbolt
- ThunderWave
- Ice Beam
- Recover
Boltbeam coverage on Porygon2 rapes. It comes in, ThunderWaves the opposition, and then whittles away the opponent's HP while recovering. It also helps the rest of the team by slowing down the rest of the opponents team, allowing me to not have to worry about speed being an issue. Paralysis IMO is the most helpful status.
Suicune (Beastiality) @ Leftovers
Nature: Bold
Ability: Pressure
EV's: 252 HP / 252 DEF / 6 SPA
- Calm Mind
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Rest
CM Cune has won me more games than I could explain. It is easily my favorite pokemon, and is a hoss. It just sets up Calm Minds and just when the opponent thinks it has it dead it rests and just pisses off the opponent. It acts also as a status absorber as it can just rest the status off. I've found Surf and Ice Beam to be formidable enough to take out other pokemon after a few Calm Minds, making HP Electric not a necessity.
Latias (Fudgepacker) @ Leftovers
Nature: Modest
Ability: Levitate
EV's: 150 HP / 252 SPD / 108 SPA
- Dragon Pulse
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Hidden Power (FIRE)
To this day I'm still not sure why or how I picked Latias in this spot but it works out for me. Much like Gyarados it gets the job done for me. I Calm Mind taking advantage of Latias' already high SPD and boost it's good 310 SPA and then hammer away with Draco Meteor and HP Fire. I put HP Fire in there for nuiances for my team like Bronzong, Abomasnow, etc.
