Round 1: A Pikaclone and a Dragoon in the Shape of a Rhinoceros Beetle

Goooooooood morning, ladies and gentlemen! It's a lovely day here at boring old ASB arena, and even though it's early, the seats are packed! Today's battle pits Final Fantasy fan Arcanite, sending out his Heracross named Kain, against J...jas...the guy with the hard-to-pronounce name with a Plusle named Zip.

Thanks to his nature, Kain clinches the first move of the battle, bringing on the pain with a nice hard Earthquake! That's gotta hurt! And Zip finds himself hurting even more, as he rummages through a nearby garbage can to build a light Substitute.

Despite Zip's attempt to set-up against Kain, the insectoid dragoon sets up himself by performing a Swords Dance...which Zip Encores. This could be bad for our Heracross friend...

As Kain's hubris causes him to perform another Swords Dance, Zip's body lights up with electrical energy, and the Plusle Discharges it all over his nemesis! It wasn't enough to paralyze him, but it did do a decent amount of damage.

Arcanite holds the lead in terms of HP, but this could still go either way. What will happen next? Find out after these messages!

Scooter's Catch-A-Ride is where the cars live! Git'choo one!

Welcome back, ladies and germs! Kain is still under the effects of encore at the start of the round, pulling off yet another Swords Dance. Meanwhile, jas's Plusle decides to Wish upon a star while he has the chance. With encore finally wearing off, our Heracross lives up to his dragoon name by jumping high into the air and slamming upon the ground, wrecking the arena - and Zip's substitute - with a devastating Earthquake! Having dodged a crippling blow, Zip tries to paralyze Kain with Discharge...and does! Using this momentum (and gaining superior speed), he pulls off another Discharge...but this isn't enough to stop the insectoid Dragoon from pulling off another Earthquake - and this one hits even harder than the last, thanks to guts!...it also tore apart some of the arena, and grievously injured quite a bit of the audience. That's gonna leave a lawsuit.

Round 4: And Then Oswald Knew how Cecil Felt

Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen! Jas has just sent out his second and last Pokemon - a Stantler named Oswald. But while Kain's paralysis may have Arcanite at a disadvantage, he still makes a nasty foe...anyway, let's get on with the round!

Oz starts out with the first of his Extrasensory spam in an attempt to take out his Heracross nemesis quickly. Kain tries to counter with a brick break, but his leg cramps up at the last minute and is unable to move! As Oswald continues with another Extrasensory, the insectoid dragoon manages to get his legs working again and gets in some Close Combat! Kain ends up at the breaking point when wrecked by the Stantler's final Extrasensory attack, and uses it against him with a Reversal at MAXIMUM power, reducing Oz's health to a third!

With this turn of events, it's possible Kain may end up taking down Oswald as well, although he's so badly weakened that he's likely to exhaust himself in the process. Can Jas get out of this predicament? Find out next week!

This round turned out to be a one-sided massacre as Arcanite sent out his Honchkrow, President Shinra, and smacked Oswald with a Sucker Punch, bringing the Stantler down to 1 HP! Defiantly, Oz blasts the President with a Thunderbolt in hopes of paralyzing this new foe, but alas, to no avail. With victory all but his, Shinra executes another Sucker Punch, taking the KO - and the match! Arcanite wins!
