IF Protect is issued successfully without transfer, THEN use Rock Polish that action.
IF Tanka has Double Team Clones up when you act, THEN use Earthquake that action.

The challenger tries to go for a bold 3-0, switching to his unharmed Steelix as Venusaur comes back in. Venusuar tries to trip up the iron snake like it did Colossoil, but this time the challenger's Pokemon is only hit neutrally, reducing the damage it does. Steelix bites into Vensuaur three times, striking with elemental energy and scoring one hit on a weak point. Venusaur tries to hang on by sapping his foe's energy, but it's doubtful this match will last much longer.

Venusaur: Grass Knot (attempt to trip): [((14)+3+3-1)] 19 damage, (7+3) 10 energy [This was reffed as +3 Energy for a 50% chance to flinch) (7745 no flinch, 8217 no crit)
Steelix: Fire Fang: [(7+3+2+1.5-2)*1.5] 17.25 damage, critical hit, 5 energy (223 crit)

Venusaur: Leech Seed: 9 energy, Steelix seeded
Steelix: Ice Fang: [(7+2+1.5-2)*1.5] 12.75 damage, 5 energy (8966 no crit)
Venusaur restored 3 HP, Steelix lost 3 HP

Didn't want to use the wall-of-text RP style, sorry about that... this still appears bleak.

Sleep Powder - Giga Drain - Grass Knot [Trip]
IF (Sleep Talk is used on your Sleep Powder) THEN (Use SolarBeam instead)
IF (Protective / Evasive Action is used on A1) THEN (Use Reflect - Sleep Powder - Grass Knot [Trip] instead)
IF (Torment is successfully used A1 or A2) THEN (Use SolarBeam on A3 instead)

Venusaur launches a last-ditch effort to stall out the match, launching a plethora of sleep-inducing spores into the air that temporarily subdue the ground snake. However, his snoring is irritating, even if the leech seeds mostly make up for it. While Steelix sleeps, the gym leader takes some time to heal his Pokemon at the enemy's expense. Venusaur even trips up the Steelix as he wakes up, but... a trip designed to misdirect a bite is a bit different than what's needed to stop an EXPLOSION. As Steelix touches the ground, a massive flash engulfs the entire arena leaving behind what can only be described as Poison Gym Armaggedon as toxins fly everywhere and a thick cloud of smoke fills the arena. When the smog clears, Venusaur stands.

Venusaur: Sleep Powder: 2 action sleep, 6 energy (1909 hit, 9943 2 action)
Steelix: Snore: [(4-3+2)] 3 damage, 3 energy (8082 no crit)
Steelix lost/Venusaur gained 3 HP via Leech Seed

Venusaur: Giga Drain: [(8+3+3)] 14 damage, 7 HP restored, 11 energy (693 no crit)
Steelix is fast asleep!
Steelix lost/Venusaur gained 3 HP via Leech Seed

Venusaur: Grass Knot: [(14+3+3)] 20 damage, 10 energy (1514 "flinch", 9801 no crit)
A note from the ref: Engineer's intent was to make a fang based attack miss with the explanation of the command. A massive explosion does not simply "miss" a target who is not hiding. Explosion works as intended.
Steelix: SUPER EXPLOSION (ohgod): [(56.25+1.5-2)] 55.75 damage, 77 energy, Self KO (5194 no crit)

Actually, this match is not over, because:
-Snore only deals (6-3)=3 Damage, Venusaur has 45 HP.
-Leech Seed reverts to 48 HP.
-No Sturdy on Steelix means Giga Drain deals (8+3+3)=14 Damage. Venusaur goes to 55 HP.
-Leech Seed puts Venusaur at 58 HP.
-Mega Explosion (Which was calced correctly) then puts Venusaur at 2.25 HP. Rounds down to 2 HP.

That said, this round might be it...

"gg Engineer Pikachu! You did try your hardest, despite the time this thing took, but it seems like your gym has some issues that you probably need to address. Nevertheless, I do hope this lesson spurs you on to do better things with this gym! Thanks for the reffing Rediamond, much appreciated."

...I have to say I expected a slightly closer match. Perhaps Kurage may not have been the best choice after all.

Regardless, you have earned the Muck Badge. There's really nothing you can do with it and I doubt you would enjoy biting it but it's yours.
