Megas For All (Read the whole 1st post and check current slate)

I already made Dunsparce, time for Skarmory.

► Mega Skarmory
► Type: Steel / Flying
► Ability: Keen Eye / Sturdy / Weak Armor [Hidden Ability] → Stronghold / Overcoat
Stronghold: Same as Weak Armor, except it raises Defense and lowers Speed. It should be pretty easy to do I think, I'm not a dev but you should just be able to copy Weak Armor and change Defense = Speed, Speed = Defense.

If not, Overcoat's fine. It would be a cool ability, making it immune to Spore, Sleep Powder, and other powder moves.

BST: 65 / 80 / 140 / 40 / 70 / 70 (465) → 65 / 100 (+20) / 170 (+30) / 50 (+10) / 100 (+30) / 80 (+10) (515)

It gets bulkier defensively both physically and specially. Gets a bit more speed, and Special Attack just for throwing points away.

Come on. Really. Have you even looked at this thread before posting?

If you reserved it already just PM it to acestriker19. We are not doing any Megas besides Raticate, Wigglytuff, Nidoking and Clefable rn.

Hey. Thanks for the reply.

I reserved it, you can see it - look at the first post. I'm sorry I didn't specify it. BTW I didn't knew about the PM stuff, I'm gonna do it now. Sorry.

No, it's fine, really. I'm new to this forum so I don't understand yet everything.

Staying on topic, do you already have a name for the Trick Room and Gravity ability?

And for the Sableye one, why not call it Scavenger? It could also "collect" Stealth Rocks or something like that, it fits for him if you read the pokédex. But that could be hard to do maybe, I don't really know.

formerly The Reptile
I guess I should address Pixilate on Wiggytuff. While I agree that we should not overuse Pixilate, I don't see a reason to ban it, as we can simply vote those that don't have -ate abilities away. I also think Pixilate on Wiggy works well - it makes it a pretty interesting bulky offensive supporter, with crazy strong STAB and decently powered coverage moves. So I stand by Pixilate Wiggytuff (although Sheer Force is really cool, so is Compound Eyes, something no one else has posted yet asaik)

Anyways, here's my Mega Nidoking.

@ Nidokite
Nidoking --> Mega Nidoking
Typing: Ground / Poison --> Ground / Poison
Ability: Poison Point / Rivalry / Sheer Force --> Mold Breaker
Stats: 81/102/77/85/75/85 BST 505 --> 81/157/87/100/85/95 BST 605 (+55 Atk, +10 Def, +10 SDef, +10 Spe, +15 SpA)
No New Moves

So this transforms Nidoking from a specially based sweeper/wallbreaker to a more physical/mixed sweeper/wallbreaker. The reason why I chose physical bias is because Nidoking has a natural physical bias, only going special because Sheer Force works so well with it. A physical megaking is cool and everything, but it needs a cool ability. Mold Breaker is there to work wonders - allowing its Earthquake to bypass Levitate, and Hone Claws sets don't have to worry about Unaware mon. It also bypasses abilities such as Fur Coat, which is nice. The special attack boosts lets it bypass some physical walls - notably, it can kill Skarmory (Sturdy can't save it thanks to Mold Breaker). Mega Nido sits in an interesting speed spot - outpacing a lot of slowmons, but gets smacked around by sweepers. This ultimately balances it out imo.

Nidoking --> Mega Nidoking

Type: Poison/Ground ---> Poison/Dragon
Ability: Poison Point | Rivalry | Sheer Force ---> Sheer Force
Stats: 81/102/77/85/75/85 BST 505 ---> 81/124/80/105/80/135 BST 605
New Moves: Dragon Claw, Draco Meteor, Dragon Rush (boosted by Sheer Force)

Concept:
Nidoking already has a dinosaur-like theme and access to Dragon moves like Outrage, Dragon Pulse, and Dragon Tail, so the new secondary Dragon-typing isn't too much of a stretch.

Since boosting moves are banned (no Dragon Dance), I decided to put 50 of the allowed 100 base stats in Speed (this may be a rule breaker, because I don't think there are any Mega Evos with this much of an increase in it's Speed stat.)

With 135 base speed, Mega Nidoking can effectively use either a Hone Claws sweeping set (Hone Claws | Dragon Rush | Poison Jab | Fire Blast/Earthquake) or an all-out-attacking set (Dragon Claw/Draco Meteor | Poison Jab | Earthquake | Fire Blast).

I think enough Wiggly for now, more Nido. Anything besides Fur Coat on Wiggly is, in my opinion, hella jank.

Mega Nido has lots of cool options. I'm personally the most in favor of retaining Sheer Force or gaining Mold Breaker.

Anything that isn't already a dragon can't get draco meteor, ex. Mega Ampharos. The rest looks pretty good, though.

Raticate -> Mega Raticate

Normal -> Normal
Run Away/Guts/Hustle -> Intimidate
Old Base Stats: 55/81/60/50/70/97
New Base Stats:
55/101/90/50/100/117

Mega Raticate focuses more on adding more bulk to Raticate, significantly raising it's defenses, while also giving it Intimidate. The goal of this is allow Raticate to make use of it's Swords Dance access. Raticate can also use it's small HP but acceptable defenses to make use of Endevor strategies, in tandem with Quick Attack or Sucker Punch. Super Fang is also an option as a bulky wallbreaker. There is even the possibility for a bulky U-Turner, allowing Mega Raticate to play mindgames with the threat of U-Turn, Sucker Punch, Quick Attack, Super Fang or bulky boosting sets.

Mega Raticate however still has the weakness of a Base 55 HP, and while it is faster and hits harder, it is still Mono-Normal, so lacks resistances, and Base 101 attack is not spectacular.

► Mega Nidoking
► Type: Poison / Ground
► Ability: No Guard

No Guard Thunders, Blizzards, Focus Blasts, Fire Blasts for special sets.

No Guard Dynamic Punches, Stone Edges, Iron Tails, Megahorns for physical sets.

Even 90% accuracy moves like Dragon Tail or Super Fang will not fail anymore. This would make him a perfect mixed sweper, if not the best one.

New moves: Ice Fang (Egg move), Fire Fang (egg move), Thunder Fang (egg move), Counter, Infestation, Double Kick, Superpower (event only, incompatible with ExtremeSpeed or egg moves), ExtremeSpeed (event locked to Adamant only, incompatible with Superpower or egg moves).

This should be so self-explanatory I shouldn't have to explain it.
I'd just like to throw some support behind this proposal here, but with the movepool tailoring outlined above. Waaayyyy too many moves, and I think Mega Raticate really only needs the elemental fangs to take advantage of such a fitting ability.

People, keep on topic - we are still currently posting and discussing megas for Raticate, Clefable, Wigglytuff, and Nidoking ONLY.

And here's my Nidoking contribution:

Ability: Poison Point/Rivalry/Sheer Force --> Thick Fat

Concept: Nidoking and Nidoqueen got married, and it's been... less than magical. He got fat and started slacking off and is no longer the awesome sweeper that he is. Still, all her insults just keep bouncing off him, he doesn't get affected that much by her cold shoulders or her fiery insults anymore, they just bounce off him.

This wins points in my book for creativity. But only -10 speed? This guy got FAT. I'd put another 10 in both defenses and drop the speed by 20 :P

Voting Time!!
(Sorry this took so long I had to redo this slate 3 times to get everyone let me know if somethings not right)

This how the voting format is going to work because we had so many Nidoking suggestions you can vote for your top 3 Nidokings with 1st getting 3 votes 2nd getting 2 votes and the 3rd getting 1 vote, all other megas will do the same thing but since there are less of them you only get to vote for your top 2. Please PM your votes to rachet67 . Voting will end in 24 hours so make sure to vote as soon as you can so you don't forget.

Heres an example vote (this isn't my actual vote I just picked random names)

Nidoking Mega Evolution submissions
Megastone name: Nidokinglite
Typing: Poison Ground ->Poison Ground

Ability: Poison Point/Rivalry/Sheer Force -> Sheer ForceMovepool: +Moonblast(Egg), +Gunk Shot(tutor).

Explaination: It's that kind of Mega that take a Pokémon and basically upgrade it without changing anything a la Scizor. Attack is higher because it fits better the flavor of Sheer Force, smashing things. You can go mixed with the elemental punches and the newly given Gunk Shot. There is another addition to movepool though, Moonblast. It might look odd, but Moonblast fits well the flavor of the Nidos; they evolve by Moon Stone and iirc part of their flavor is inspired by thishttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon_rabbit . Sheer Force is because you can't imagine Nidoking without Sheer Force, it's like Tyranitar without Sand Stream. Also capitalizes of Gunk Shot and Moonblast.

New Moves: Dragon Claw, Dragon Rush (boosted by Sheer Force)

Concept:
Nidoking already has a dinosaur-like theme and access to Dragon moves like Outrage, Dragon Pulse, and Dragon Tail, so the new secondary Dragon-typing isn't too much of a stretch.

Since boosting moves are banned (no Dragon Dance), I decided to put 40 of the allowed 100 base stats in Speed (this may be a rule breaker, because I don't think there are any Mega Evos with this much of an increase in it's Speed stat.)

With 135 base speed, Mega Nidoking can effectively use either a Hone Claws sweeping set (Hone Claws | Dragon Rush | Poison Jab | Fire Blast/Earthquake) or an all-out-attacking set (Dragon Claw| Poison Jab | Earthquake | Fire Blast).

Nidoking-Mega (Nidokingate)
Design Description: Nidoking's scale grow and develop an armour around its body, made of rock (Think Rhyperior). The armour contracts when its is defending and stand on end when it is attacking. Its color also become deep brown instead of pink.

Poison/Ground -----> Poison/Rock

Poison Point/Rivalry/Sheer Force -----> Battle Hide (+1 to Defense and Special Defense when using Non-Attacking Move; +1 to Attack and Special Attack when using Attacking Moves)

BST: 81/102/77/85/75/85 >> 81/132/117/95/105/75
New Moves: Drain Punch

Now, one may wonder why I didn't stick with Sheer Force, but I believe my reason is simple enough: regular Nidoking will simply be able to dish out more damage as it can hold a Life Orb with no drawback. So with that in mind, I felt that making its mega evo a sweeper wouldn't cut it, and instead pursue another role that Nidoking fulfills: wallbreaker. Tough Claws makes for an impeccable boosting ability on the physical side, while at the same time not going over the top as none of Nidoking's best STAB moves that make contact doesn't pass 100 base power, as well as only having a 'moderate' 132 base attack (by Mega standards). While other wallbreaker may perform better on the physical end, they could dream of having Nido's special movepool along with its respectable special attack stat, making hardwalling this beast a true challenge for any opponent. Mega Nido is slower and bulkier than its regular form, which is why I found it fitting to equip it with Drain Punch, as I find it to fit well with its Poison typing, and that regular Nidoking wouldn't get much use of it either as it doesn't get boosted from Sheer Force.

Its ability coupled with its large special movepool might push it over the top though, so I may change its ability to Mold Breaker or even Intimidate if others find its power to be too great.

Also Mega-Nidoking

Typing: Poison / Ground ----> Poison / Ground
81/102/77/85/75/85 -----> 81 / 122 / 97 / 115 / 100 / 85
Ability: Poison Point / Rivalry / Sheer Force ----> Sand Rush
New Moves: Nidoking has so many moves already

Concept: Special Nidoking that can wallbreak in normal form with sheer force and then sweep lategame with Sand Support using its fantastic movepool pretty simple.

Mega Nidoking
Poison-Ground
81/102/77/85/75/85 -> 81/122/107/85/125/85
Ability: Intimidate
Movepool: + slack off, + gunk shot

Concept: Nidoking is commonly thought of as a frail special attacker. This set is here to change that: featuring defensive nidoking. When you look at it, poison is a great physically defensive typing, the thing looks scary, and ground means it can switch in repeatedly without worrying about stealth rock. Attack is buffed because Nido's physical is pretty underrated, and hey, with sheer force out of the way, attack is actually stronger than special attack. So hopefully this suggestion is at least somewhat good.

Mega Nidoking
Typing: Poison / Ground -> Poison / Ground
Abilities: Poison Point / Rivalry / Sheer Force -> Sheer Force
BST: 81/102/77/85/75/85 -> 81/102/107/115/107/103
New Moves: Aura Sphere, Muddy Water

Unlike others who have taken a more offensive approach, I decided to give Nidoking some more bulk and speed, boosting SpA by 30, Def by 30, SpD by 42 and Speed by 18 - the concept with the non-multiples of 10 is to give Jolly Mega-Nidoking enough speed to outspeed Jolly Garchomp, thus allowing it to safely deal with one of it's counters, while still leaving it open to Mega-Pinsir and above to check.
This Mega-Nidoking hits like a truck with 105 Sheer Force boosted attacks(although the loss of LO keeps it balanced) and has reasonably high bulk at 81/97/107 bulk, allowing it to check a lot of common threats. Unlike normal Nidoking(who is a wallbreaker), Mega-Nidoking positions itself well on bulky offense teams - some calcs below show it's ability:
252 SpA Sheer Force Nidoking Focus Blast vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Kyurem-B: 340-402 (86.7 - 102.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Teravolt Kyurem-B Outrage vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Nidoking: 249-294 (81.9 - 96.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

As this shows, even with no investment Nidoking can easily tank at least one very strong hit and ko back, allowing him to do well on Bulky Offense
I gave Nidoking Aura Sphere in order to give users not wishing to run Focus Miss for the fear of hax another decent option, although it doesn't hit very hard without an item. I also gave him Muddy Water as another option to use alongside his usual coverage, as Muddy Water(who has usually been away from the limelight courtesy surf) now gets a chance to shine thanks to sheer force.

Nidoking (Nidokingite? Nidonite M?)

Poison/Ground
Abulities: Poison Point, Rivalry (Sheer Force) -> Sheer Force
New Moves: Energy Ball, Gunk Shot

Stats:

HP: 81 -> 81
Atk: 102 -> 142 (+40)
Def: 77 -> 87 (+10)
SpA: 85 -> 105 (+20)
SpD: 75 -> 85 (+10)
Spe: 85 -> 105 (+20)
Total: 505 -> 605

So, now physical and mixed Nidoking are viable. At least now both its physical STABs are boosted by Sheer Force. It gets some more Special Attack so it can still use Fire Blast to nail Skarmory, Ferrothor, Forretress, and Energy Ball just because I feel like it fits him. Gunk Shot is for strong STAB and it has usable accuracy now (120 power 80 acc is better than Hydro Pump now).

Wigglytuff Mega Evolution submissions

Mega Wigglytuff
Type: Fairy
Ability: Sheer Force
Moves: Moonblast
Stats: 140/70/85/145/60/35 (535)

With 145 SpA and Sheer Force, Wigglytuff can destroy most offensive pokemon. I decided to make Wigglytuff offensive to distinguish it from the other suggestions.

Doing Wigglytuff

Stone name: Wigglytufflite (why do all these stones have to have names that look like lung diseases' names)?

Type: Normal-Fairy -> Normal-Fairy

Ability: Regenerator

Stats: 140/70/90/100/80/55

Movepool additions: + U-Turn(TM)

While Fur Coat Wigglytuff appears to be popular, it would be yet another bulky Mega Evolution without reliable healing method(Wishtect kinda sucks, lets face it). This Wigglytuff is involved about team support for balanced and semistall team by efficient as fuck Wishpassing and momentum grabbing thanks to U-Turn+Regenerator. The ability helps with keeping your Wiggly healty, checking more threats and supporting your team more than once in the course of a match. While bulk might appear mediocre it's higher than Amoonguss so it's not bad. Flavour wise U-Turn is because it turn backs in your Pokéball by bouncing back(lol). The move is btw aviable for mons with rather similar body shape such as Jumpluff or Manaphy. Regenerator is mostly competitive flavour, either way it doesn't fit much worse than it does with Mienshao or Audino.

Overall a strong pick for any balanced and stall team that need a cleric able to stay healty for the entire course of a match. Was also thinking about a wallbreaker with Chatot-Mega's ability and Boomburst, but meta doesn't need yet another wallbreaker. Either way, Chatot abuses this better, due to access to STAB Chatter.

New Moves: None

Right, so, a few current megas have very specific roles from their face-smashing cousins. Prankster Banette, Defensive titan Aggron, etc.

SO, what I've done is made this pink bunny tailored to be a superb mixed wall and fabulous cleric. Huge Wish passes, access to status moves galore, Perish Song, Heal Bell, etc. Basically, everything a good cleric would need. With the defense stat doubled and the Special Attack nicely buffed, Wigglytuff is finally no longer horribly outclassed in every way, and while it does take up a mega slot.

Fur Coat is THE perfect ability for the Tuff. Srsly. Read the Dex description. Flawless.

Anyway, that's my contribution! Hope to have helped

Edit: For the lazy, the Dex descriptions:

"The rich, fluffy fur that covers its body feels so good that anyone who feels it can't stop
touching it"

"Its fur is extremely fine, dense, and supple. The exquisitely pleasant fur conveys an image of luxury."

New Moves: BoomBurst (Egg Move from Field: Exploud -> Fairy: Granbull or something) )

The General Idea of this Mega is to set itself apart from things that generally outclass it like Clefable, Chansey and blissey. It has a variety of supportive move options like Stealth rock, Screens, T-Wave, Wish, Disable, Heal Bell, Magic Coat and stat loweing moves like charm.

The addition of Boomburst was to give it a strong stab to go along with it's decent special attack and hit set up sweepers through substitute.

Example Set

Nature: Bold
Ability: Frisk/Competitive =====> Prankster
252 Def/252 SpA

Boom Burst

Damage Calcs:

252 Atk Choice Band Talonflame Flare Blitz vs. 0 HP / 252+ Def Wigglytuff: 178-210 (42.2 - 49.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

252 SpA Wigglytuff Boomburst vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Talonflame: 259-306 (86.9 - 102.6%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO

+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Bisharp Iron Head vs. 0 HP / 252+ Def Wigglytuff: 603-712 (143.2 - 169.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

So yeah, not stupidly broken but the added bulk is respectable

I guess I'm not the first to do this. It supports with Stealth Rock, Thunder Wave, and Magic Coat. It can be built as a cleric with Heal Bell and Wish. I gave it Calm Mind because I think it fits. After all, Blissey gets it. But Wigglytuff can actually use it with its great Defense and usable Special Attack.

So pretty much I made Wiggytuff a bulky attacker. It's improved bulk and power, along with a powerful Pixilate Hyper Voice, lets it be a threat, and more than makes up for the lack of Moonblast. Wiggy is also neat because it can run Competitive to increase its SpA by 2 vs Sticky Web / Intimidate / moves like Crunch or something, and then Mega with a +2 base 125 pixilate hyper voice. Obviously I don't feel like its broken - Pixilate Hyper Voice can only get so far with an unboosted base 125. However, it has coverage to help with that - moves like Flamethrower and Thunderbolt. It also passes huge Wishes off and has Heal Bell, so it can run an offesnive support set. Also Pixilate I don't feel needs a flavor justification - the -ite moves don't seem to have any specific flavor behind them other than being on mons that are of the same type.

Raticate Mega Evolution submissions

Raticate (Raticatitie)

Abilities: Run Away/Guts (Hustle) -> Hustle

Type: Normal -> Normal/Dark

New Moves: Hone Claws, Knock Off, Play Rough

SpD: 70 -> 85 (+15)
Spe: 97 -> 127 (+30)

With Hustle, Hone Claws, and increased bulk, Raticate becomes a setup sweeper. He has Sucker Punch as priority and gains Play Rough for coverage, which I feel fits seeing as a lot of things from Absol to Linoone get it and Raticate looks like it would play rough. And that's all there is to it.

You could also opt for a higher risk strategy with Swords Dance.

New Moves: Bulldoze, Rock Tomb

Concept: Raticate has a really fantastic 60 power movepool that Technician really beefs up: Flame Wheel, Bite, Quick Attack, Pursuit, and Pluck are all really great moves that help Raticate lots. Raticate is really frail and not all that strong but it has access to lots of good base 60 power moves and Raticate isn't going to be viable without making him unbalanced so I'm just hoping the novelty of Bite being a viable move on Raticate makes it used. Bulldoze and Rock Tomb make it so Raticate can stop sweepers by dropping their speed protecting your team.

Following Eevee General's idea and acestriker's submission. I don't like messing TOO much with speed tiers, so I took it down a notch and gave it more Attack and bulkiness. I also tried to give it some new coverage (even though it already has Quick Attack) and an utility move.

BST: 95/70/73/95/90/60 ----> 95/80/63/140/100/95
New Moves: Energy Ball, Earth Power

Since normal Clefable is mostly used as a tank/wall, I think Mega Clefable should take up the role of a special sweeper. Competitive mainly because it's about the best ability that fits the flavor, Energy Ball for flavor (I imagine Mega Clefable as some sort of sage), and Earth Power for Coverage against Heatran and Poison-types that can eat a Flamethrower/Fire Blast.

95/70/73/95/90/60 -----> 95/85/93/125/110/75
Ability: Cute Charm / Magic Guard / Unaware ----> Serene Grace
Fairy ----> Fairy
New Moves: What moves does clefable not already have

Concept: Remember how Cosmic Power Clefable is seen as garbage well the goal of this mega is to help CP Clefable to sweep lategame. Cosmic Power up using one of Clefable's two great abilities and then with Serene Grace Clefable is guaranteed to get a +1 special attack boost from charge beam which makes Clefable much more reliable at stacking up boosts. Then go to town on the opponent, still not the best but definitely better than regular CP clefable and it doesn't really outclass normal clefable at anything else.

The point of this is to make it even better as a cleric. I think this is a good contrast to most of the offensive sets that have been submitted so far.

Doing Wigglytuff

Stone name: Wigglytufflite (why do all these stones have to have names that look like lung diseases' names)?

Type: Normal-Fairy -> Normal-Fairy

Example Set

Wigglytuff @ Wigglytuffite
Nature: Bold
Ability: Frisk/Competitive =====> Prankster
252 Def/252 SpA

Boom Burst
Dazzling Gleam/Protect
Wish/ Heal bell

Damage Calcs:

252 Atk Choice Band Talonflame Flare Blitz vs. 0 HP / 252+ Def Wigglytuff: 178-210 (42.2 - 49.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

252 SpA Wigglytuff Boomburst vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Talonflame: 259-306 (86.9 - 102.6%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO

+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Bisharp Iron Head vs. 0 HP / 252+ Def Wigglytuff: 603-712 (143.2 - 169.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

So yeah, not stupidly broken but the added bulk is respectable

acestriker19, you kinda broke the code, the Wigglytuff submission ate up the rest of the posts.

Also, advice for the voters: it is considered in poor taste to vote for your own submission. Unless your submission is that awesome. :P

Would it also be possible to include disclaimers on your vote like "MegaMantine's Raticate, but without Hone Claws" (as an example)?

Okay the clefable submissions kinda exploded I have no idea why right now ;_; so just ignore the top 4 submissions the bottom 5 after the new title should be good though sorry.

Edit: Okay kinda fixed them a bit just ignore the two hide tags in Randa's submission.

I don't think disclaimer's would work because I don't know if we were to count them as your own vote or a general vote there might be some tweaks to megas if some that have over 4 moves or something like that get selected.

Yey, voting finally starts : D

Speaking of which, when will we start the next batch of megas? Maybe during the voting period?
The next batch will start after this voting period is over but since we're going in order you can look on the chart at the front to find the next 4 we're doings so you can plan ahead if you want.

TALPRONE'S NIDO IS THE SHIT

MEGA MANTINE'S RATICATE IS THE SHIT

RANDA'S CLEFABLE IS THE SHIT

MY WIGGLYTUFF IS THE SHIEEEEEEEEEEET

So everyone vote for those.

Edit: acestriker's clef is also the shit
