Yes its supposed to be haunter. Ill clean up my post later and add quotes so the post aint so massive.

Edit: Fixed up Haunters spelling and Added quotes to my previous Post to reduce the size of it. Anything I should change about my NPC sequence

sorry guys i overslept(17 hours!!) and i gtg out for a while, zarel will be up later on today.
As for trade, i'd say magnemite/magneton cos iirc we chose manectric's pre-evo over it in an earlier town.

Been out for a few days, so I'll throw in my few cents.

Move relearner is a great idea, but don't we already have heart scales from the shiny lady near Dogers Town? I see no reason to put the player through grinding out Amomomomola for them, especially if it means introducing the garbage move of thief.

I love the NPC proposals so far. It has always made me rather sad that Darm gets lumped together with the garbage that is Florges and Donphan, but w/e (Darm can actually function as a decent wallbreaker and Heatran lure, which is far more then what either florges or donphan could ever claim).
 
sorry for being so late with the zarel bit but here it is
When you go to the PC after beating the gym, zarel is there and will invite you to his house. You go to his house but find it abandoned, and a note on the table: " Whoever reads this, my house is being broken into and…" there's a little blood on the note after that (could be ink if we don't want it to be bloody) and it appears as if the rest was torn and taken. The gym leader comes in and says that he came for zarel cos there was prolly some error in the PC system and a couple more things. You explain to him everything, and after some thinking, he asks you to come with him. He takes you to a large building and then says, "It was I, Skygan, who was the chief of this place before this building was here. It used to be a village earlier, small and peaceful and everyone lived like a family. Then this company came and talked of transforming the place for the better. Reluctantly, I gave in. Recently, the people of this company have been acting strangely. They rarely open now, and even the employees stay inside. I don't like it [player name], and I think it's time we found out what's going on". You go for the door, but it's locked. Skygan calls out one of his pokes and it opens the door with its psychic powers. Inside is a large hall, and there are 2 stairs-obv one leading up and one leading down. Skygan points out that the basement used to be locked earlier, and suggests you go look up and he'll go down. You exchange pokegear nos. or w/e, and depart. Note that there isn't any lift in the building. This is a 4-5 floor building, and every floor has 3 grunts, and the top floor has 2 grunts+leader/admin. Once in, you can't go out, though there's a bed(or an NPC) on the 3rd floor where you can heal your pokes. Every floor shall have a grunt that can be avoided(except on top floor), though it is actually false happiness, cos you've to beat all the grunts on each floor to get a key. 2 keys are for a room on the 4th floor, while 1 is for a room in basement. You beat the grunts, go to top floor, beat more grunts, reach the leader/admin.

L/A: "Aha, so you're the little prick who likes to play hero and get in our way. Well it's not entirely your fault. Everyone wants to be looked up to, even I do, and my actions are driven by a sincere motivation to better this place. That smogon may call every ban it makes as an attempt to make the battles more fair, but actually they just ban things they can't handle. And they can't handle it cos they're weak.And then they go about how there are some pokes who can't ever be used here cos they are outclassed by others. I can't stand this stupidity, so I'll release all the mons: banned or deemed useless, and let them free in the smogsmog region. Will you join our noble cause?" well ofc we will we deny the offer, and he keeps blabbering "Ok, you had your chance. I was kind to you even though you had troubled us a lot, but you won't get any more chances. Noble as I am, I can't let anyone stand in the way of TLS, you shall be destroyed, and I shall do it myself". Badabooom…..and you fight and you win(if you lose, you'll have to re-battle the last 2 grunts before re-challenging the leader/admin) and he goes on "…how…how can it be…I can't lose. No, it was just pure luck and matchup which got you the win, TLS can't be wrong, it can't be defeated". Talks on cell, after which he speaks to player again "Our job here was almost done, but the progress is nonetheless impressive, we'll leave cos we don't have anything to do here anymore, but I'm warning you, don't try to stop us, you'll be crushed" and he escapes on another dumb thing like fly golurk.

Zarel tells you why he was kidnapped "They have formed links in the ubers region, and wanted to bring many uber pokes here, but ofc they can't bring them manually due to the smogsmog guards. So, they wanted me to link their PCs to those in Ubers region, and bypass the security check. Ofc I refused, so they tried to steal the codes of the PC system so that they could break into the system themselves, but you stopped them before they could leave. Thank you [player name], you really saved this region from a big disaster. I can't thank you enough." You call Skygan and explain anything, and meet him outside. Skygan tells you that in the basement, they were working on breaking into the security system, and also tried to allow the use of unreleased abilities on pokes(like contrary serperior earlier, and flash fire entei). He stopped them, though he doesn't know how much damage was done. Zarel rushes off to his house to make sure everything is fine, and Skygan takes you to the Poke Center to heal your poke. He then thanks you again for your help.

After leaving the Centre, you get a call from Zarel, asking you to come to his house. When you go there, he thanks you again, and decides to give you 2 interesting Pokemon: Rotom and Melloeta(or Mew). He also states that while Rotom can take lots of forms, not all of them are viable.

Now remember we had 1 key for the basement? Well actually i haven't actually thought of what could be hidden there, so it's open speculation for the time being.
Since i don't remember we gave the gym leader a name, i just used google translate with some random languages with the word "psychic", and the name Skygan is close to the Icelandic translation iirc. We need a name for the company, and Admin/Leader name, and ofc teams. Sorry for being late, and asking you to work a bit further with my story, but i don't have much time nowadays.
I have vivas till next week, practicals from 7th Jan, and end sem exams in Feb, so it's close to impossible for me to contribute in a major way for a long time.
 
I would propose this guy be an Admin, since I'm not sure we should meet the leader till later. Also, I would propose that TLS at first just uses weak and outclassed Pokémon and gimmicky, luck-based strategies that you can usually beat, but gets much harder and uses well-built Ubers teams, and finally the leader uses Mega Rayquaza as a sort of "final boss". Since we're only at the fourth gym, maybe a bunch of outclassed Pokémon for the grunts but one Uber like Genesect for the admin?

It's worth noting that gimmicky and uncompetetive does not mean ineffective. For example, swagplay was used in ubers to great effect for quite some time after it got banned from OU (as in good players were using it to win tournaments and get very high on the ladder). One could argue that part of the reason it got so much attention was precisely that it was very effective.

What makes a TLS mon is less the mon itself and more the sets it runs. A random uber here and there is fine, but unless it's an admin it should be running something that makes it clear that the user has no idea why it got banned in the first place.
 
i wouldn't like mega ray to be anywhere in our project at all. It was banned from ubers, so it'd serve better purpose when we go about doing the ubers region(if we ever do). Also, it's too broken even at levels lower than the player's mons. And, it was never ou to start with. Genesect could work tho
 
I'd rather start introducing them at least use something like that now considering the whole goal of their last scheme was to obtain a legend...Would make sense to me I guess. Also ya, Mega Ray aint touching this with ten thousand yard pole

We just came out of a jungle route pretty much with the type of the leader being that of psychic and with the city not being close to the ocean and all, I think it would be suffice to be our major metropolis bit with the department store and all that kind of jazz. For some reason I had thought I said this but I might have just talked bout it in the discussion with Web and sparks.

After you beat up Mr.Blacklist, and after everybody leaves, a Trainer walks up to you(Ill be calling her EnGarde for now, unless EnGarde is not a girl)

"Hello, the name's EnGarde". (You tell her your name). "<insert player name> is it? That's a nice name. Thank you for defeating Mr.Blacklist. For a while, I used to train up and breed perfect Pokemon and then give them away, battle-ready. I also used to distribute Battle-Spot Pokemon in the Kalos region, but when me and my family moved here, I had to change some Pokemon to fit OU standards, such as Mega-Kangaskhan. I didn't know who to giveaway Pokemon to, because these guys in bandanas(TLS) knew about me coming from Kalos, and started pressuring me to hand over Ubers like M-Kangaskhan and M-Lucario". (Perhaps we rescue her from the same TLS headquarters as Zarel because they might have tried transferring Ubers through Zarel, but Zarel didn't allow that, and then they kidnapped EnGarde. Ill put that in later today if people like it). "I didn't break down, but they tortured me really hard. After a while, they left suddenly". (We'll make this that they overheard the Gym Leader talking with Uxis about the player coming here and got scared, which also explains why they didn't come out for a while). "I was relieved for a while, until Mr.Blacklist came. Then again I didn't know who to trade to because the children who got battle ready pokemon like Sylveon or Excadrill got scammed out of them. I really thank you for that. By the way, if you want to come by and get some battle ready Pokemon from me, come to my trade shop in the trade shop section of the department store. Its on 2F, far to the right. Bye!"

So after seeing Salemance's post about this being the big metropolis and such, I was like, hey, why not a few of the best trade shops be there. So just of the top of my head, mostthe3rd(Ditto galore), Buckert's(also Ditto galore), Pokeguy. That type of thing. And giveaways can be 3F since not all, albeit most, people who run giveaways have trade threads. Any ideas?

Woo! Mega Metropolis! Exactly what I wanted. Christmas came early! So, if we had a Department Store, does that mean there'd be TM's for sale? If so, I know I'd want Reflect and Light Screen available. And maybe a few more utility TMs, like Roost and Substitute.

SnazzySwampert Its sorta hard for me to read whats good and bad bout the story ya got there...mind splitting it out so its all together like that (like you go from him saying one thing straight to another in the same line)
 
I'd like to nominate Magneton as the pokemon traded. Way back in Ordland City Electrike was put in the electric warehouse instead of Mag, and I really think that it needs to be included now. Also, due to this city being the main metropolis, I think there should be a radio station like in Goldenrod City. The player could trade for Magneton here, as radio is electrical and it gives the trade a sort of theme. So basically, the player enters the station and after looting finding Poke Balls and potions and such the player makes his way to the president's room. The president is a stereotypical rich old man, but is fascinated with electricity. He eagerly greets you and after regaling you about the wonders of electricity, he offers to trade you his prized Magneton, with HP Fire, in exchange for another electric type. After the trade, he tells you about a fabled cave where a powerful electric type pokemon resides (Raikou). Magneton also can reach their final form here, and it was the president's dream to capture Raikou. The TM Thunder can be found in the President's office as well.
 
If there's a radio station, i think that might be a good place for Rotom to go, too. I know there were other suggestions, but I think that it would work there, too.
 
i like snazzy's idea, and gj mixing it with zarel's bit. Engarde can be the NPC that heals our pokes in the building during the rescue mission. If we're gonna do a super mart, we're gonna be elaborate with it all, every floor, shop placements, npcs etc. So i say a couple guys get together and plan it all among themselves, rather than loosely spread proposals.
 
I like Snazzys Idea to and Welldone on connecting her to both blacklist and Zarel. Only thing I suggest is rather then telling the player about her Shop and the department store she Actually takes you and give's you a Tour of the building as a show of her gratitude. And I also 2nd the Idea that Engarde Accompanies the Player into TLS's hideout Post Gym or whenever the rescue mission begins.

Anyway I like how we are tieing in each others NPCs as we go along and I think there should be more of that as we go along in the project. Sonner or later tho We're gonna need an overall right up of the towns Events/story/NPCs so that we dont get lost since this city is gonna be huge

Well, I guess right now, we should start looking at the other water starters who are viable. Right now, it looks like Swampert, and... more Swampert? I hardly ever see Blastoise in OU, Empoleon seems most used to check Greninja, and as for Samarott and Feraligatr... ha no.

One other option I've seen suggested is to make another Water Type a Starter, but I don't know about that.
