How about we do something similar to Striaton/Cinnabar (since I still think the game should be designed to ease newbies into competitive battling)? We have a quiz about Competitive Battling. For each wrong answer, we force them to fight a trainer who tells you the right answer. For each right answer, the trainer is passive and will only fight if you ask him/her to fight (and will make a comment about it)

"Are the moderators nazi's?"
"No."

ok, i thought you meant that since it's 2HKOd, we should run chansey. Got that wrong didn't I.
Also note that Bunnelby gets Double Kick at Lv20(so does Diggersby), so i second the idea of Pizza Man of Gastly and intimidate Staravia(though i can't say about the complete team, i'll just comment about what i think about the posted teams)

access to Initmidate
correct that, i spent some time doing ctrl+f for intimidate.

but youve gotta include the TM28 Tombstony question. hm, wonder if cap can make that move sometime O_o
CAP doesn't make moves anymore, and even if they did this would still be a bad idea since we are trying to teach about the OU metagame, having something like that is not only confusing but is wasted potential for something the player could have learned

cap is a fucking joke anyway. but whatever, this is not the place.

What if the trainer you fight then is a Team Luck Sack supporter that hacked the question machine? Even if that can't happen, the question and answer is still valid because of things like Haunter saying that Smogon is a well know dictatorship. :P

P.S. Please don't infarct me mein furer Haunter. I know you said it in a joking way while locking a thread about a noob who doesn't know why something obviously broken is banned.

i'll ask a few people about someone who likes normal types on PS!.
i'm not sure, but i think someone said that the leader shall submit the team. true?

Completely irrelevant, but the antagonists should be a group of people who are anti-Smogon and goes around and uses Ubers. In the beginning it has to be LC Ubers though. That'd make their evil leader fight really difficult, if he for example has a Scarf Kyogrw smashing your team.

If you would like to see what we know of the antagonist's, please refer to the OP under "Team Luck Sack"

I was honestly thinking Subject 18, she's a respected member of the community who is known for topics like the Battling Tip of the Day, and the personality seems to match pretty well, I think it'd be a good fit.

Level 20 Bunnelby 40 ATK EVs Return v. 0/0 Calm Chansey: 80.1 - 94.8%

Azurril's Return does up to 70%

That said, things like Fletchinger's Wing Attack only do up to 40% so... yeah...

The gym should have a dog because cute dogs. Lillipup or Herdier with a nice Retaliate spam like in BW gym perhaps?
Stoutland not OU

but happiness isn't maxed maxed out yet. Assuming Return to be around 70BP atm
40 Atk Huge Power Bunnelby Retaliate vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Chansey: 76-90 (55.8 - 66.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Given that the phys bulk of an invested happiny exceeds that of an uninvested chansey by a decent margin, I'd rather have an invested, competetive-ish happiny set then a downright neutered chansey. We can reduce the EVs a bit if a fully invested defensive happiny happens to be OP ofc. The biggest difference between happiny and chansey is softboiled, which is significant, and is the only reason why I would consider having the gym run chansey instead.

Due to being an event move, I do not think wishpass chansey would be a good choice. Also, combined with it's very difficult to break through bulk and softboiled, it can patch up teammates nigh indefinitely, and we probably don't want that (the team is looking plenty tough as is). We'll prolly find some way to get around the whole event move thing ofc (we could have the player receive it via in-game trade), but that is for later.

Hey yall, look for the wrap up later tonight. I'm a little indisposed with relatives today so I'm not exactly too focused on this (but I will be once I get back home!) so till then, please discuss anything else that needs to be discussed before moving on. Want to try submitting a last minute NPC? How bout a crazy old man with an allergy to people saying hi? The actual name of the town (somehow we sorta glossed over that) so discuss away yall.

Hrmmmm, we haven't really proposed much in terms of gym trainers have we? I should probably make someone up...

Intro Quote: You're a million light years from facing our leader!

Loss Quote: Maybe you're not so far away after all...

Outro Quote: You already know that lightyears are a measure of distance, not time, right?

I think the Team Luck Sack Grunts should use Quick Claws along with the OHKO moves. That would help make them even cheaper and more luck reliant.

Okay guys we seriously need a Magikarp Salesman, why do we not have one?

NPC Proposal

Magikarp Salesman

Hey there Trainer! I have just the deal for you! I can sell you the great pokemon Magikarp, it can easily set up on Pokemon and sweep teams, and it can even hit levitating pokemon with Earthquake, heck I'm suprised Magikarp wasn't Suspect tested yet. And this is only for the cheap price of $500 (Replace the dollar sign with a Poke dollar sign, and don't include this text), it can be yours. What do you say?

(Yes and No Prompt)
If No is said: No? I'm only doing this for you to give your team a great Pokemon

If Yes is said, but you don't have enough Money: You shouldn't be such a cheapskate, only people who play fair can get good. That's why Moody, Swagger, and Evasion moves were banned.

If Yes is said and you can afford it, but your team is full:Unfortunately Magikarp doesn't have a ability that lets it use 7 Pokemon on a team. Because that would be absolutely broken

If Yes is said, can be afforded and a team slot is open:
(Gives player a Level 5 Magikarp with Swift Swim, a Adamant Nature and perfect IVs)

If Talked to again:
Well, I don't give refunds!

Seems like we already have a good list of pokemon to use, so I won't say much. I've been busy, but I'll try to get the V2 character sheets up before next monday.

I'll just say this: we can make the gym leader hard, but not impossible. This should be a game designed to teach people how to play OU, and as such we shouldn't make the first gym too difficult- after all, there are still 7 other gyms, an evil team leader (Somalia!?) the elite four and one champion for the player to learn OU. I say 4-5 pokes for the first gym, but definately 6 for the second and so on.

Badge proposal name:

Since we're obvs going with normal from what I can gather, the first badge should be named... The Steppe badge. Which ironically can also work for rock. Anyway its a double pun on a normal type of terrain, as well as being the first "steppe" of your journey to becoming 1337 battler.

Also I vastly approve of WebBowser 's Vs seeker idea!
