Reffing 202: smashlloyd20 vs Its_A_Random

Delibird is stupid

Aerodactyl: Rock Slide~Stone Edge (Delibird)~Rock Slide
IF Delibird is KO'd THEN Iron Head (Gardevoir)
IF Delibird is under the effects of P/E THEN Iron Head (Gardevoir) and pushback

Excadrill: Rock Slide~Metal Claw (Delibird)~Rock Slide
IF Delibird is KO'd THEN Metal Claw (Gardevoir)
IF Delibird is under the effects of P/E THEN Metal Claw (Gardevoir) and pushback

Stupid rocks.

Elincia: Icy Wind > Icy Wind > Icy Wind
IF
Icy Wind successfully hits Aerodactyl, THEN replace all remaining actions with Hyper Voice.

Kringles: Blizzard > Blizzard > Blizzard

(Quick note: Gardevoir has 2 extra EN because I made a typo with Hyper Voice's EN cost the last round it was on the field)

...this is why ordering first in doubles sucks. IAR drops both of my Pokemon with powerful spread moves, and my Bronzong is stuck facing down a terrifying Mega Gardevoir and Delibird. But mostly Delibird. Can I mount a comeback? Find out next time on Dragon Ball Z!

No Accuracy Rolls necessary for Blizzard; (70 × (4 ÷ 3)) + 9 = 102.333% ACC. Delibird should have Rank 5 SpA since its adjusted BRT is 17.

Elincia: [Trace Heavy Metal] Shadow Ball (Bronzong) > Focus Blast (Bronzong) > Shadow Ball (Bronzong)
Substitute your current move for Chill if Bronzong uses Protect.

Kringles: Signal Beam (Bronzong) > Brick Break (Bronzong) > Signal Beam (Bronzong)
Use Double Team and create four clones if Bronzong uses Heavy Slam (Delibird).
Use Chill and push back if Bronzong uses Protect and the outcome of Protect is successful.

Noted. Also, Gardevoir can't Trace here but I think you knew that.

Who likes self-KO clause!?!?

Faced with a terrifying Gardevoir and Delibird, I do the only sensible thing and blow up my Bronzong to take out both of IAR's Pokemon. Unfortunately we play with Self-KO clause like lame-os, so IAR wins!

Delibird Signal Beam (Bronzong)

Action 2

Gardevoir Focus Blast (Bronzong)
Hit: 2223=YES

Delibird Brick Break (Bronzong)

IAR wins!

Also, the gym match I was reffing ended in Leethoof DQ'ing. I couldn't find another gym match to take in a timely manner. I am currently wrapping up a gym qualifier match and have reffed several tournament matches while this 202 was going on.

I'll tag deadfox081 here so he can check this out. Thanks for tutoring IAR :)

-Accepted Dragonair-H
-Second order toggle
-Protect EN cost timing
-Self-noted Hyper Voice EN Cost typo
-Delibird Blizzard Accuracy
-Delibird SpA Rank post Everstone
-Forgot Spread Penalty on Explosion + Explosion

Times over DQ
None really though idk because Xenforo is dumb and will not list exact time.

Flavour
Acceptable.

Other
Suicided at the end of the 202 even though he could have probably won with one extra round; suiciding is a discouraged tactic for apprentices of 202 as well as during self referee jobs and can result in reproval.

For the record, I actually didn't think I could have won with Bronzong against Gardevoir and thought that exploding to draw by self-KO clause was legitimately my best option (despite being clearly wrong as shown by several users on IRC). If being really really bad at ASB is grounds for rejection then I can accept that, I just want to make it clear that I did not purposely suicide to make this reffing easier on myself or anything.

Okay lets finally get to this smashlloyd20

I pretty much can't find any errors outside what IAR pointed out. Several of them are minor and while Dragonair-H is an issue it's not one you are likely to come across in an actual match. I also won't hold the Exploding against you since this is not about battling.

Your flavour is acceptable both here and in general but I will say that I would appreciate you tidying up your format a little for serious matches. It, especially your calculations, are not particularly aesthetically pleasing. A little bit of formatting (bold on action titles, maybe on damage too) would go a long way. What I will mandate from now on out however is that you state the roll required for an effect to take place (ie CRIT <=625 or the like). This is necessary to check certain effects are applied correctly such as accuracy boosts and things like Ice Punch + Ice Punch having a 20% freeze chance.

Overall though you have done a good job here and reffing in ASB in general and should consider yourself whitelisted to self referee according to the guidelines in the Mentoring Program OP. Your whitelisting will last for 6 months from now and I will endeavour to contact you 2 months before it expires to work out a way to refresh it if you so desire (else you should contact me if I forget). For the time being you are not whitelisted to mentor Reffing 202 runs, but I would encourage you to take up both Reffing 101 and Starting ASB tutees if you can given the status having passed this program gives you in ASB. Happy self reffing!
