Well, you can use a normal one and wonder "Why is it so uselessly slow and frail, with above average offense, and a million status moves?"
Or you can use Mega, and wonder "How does something with one of the best Prankster movepools in the game, and 165 base Atk accomplish little more than a Sableye- oh damn it, they killed it in one punch and I can't use an actual, good mega like Venusaur now".
Poor Banette. It needed an actual evolution like Dusclops got and probably a mega beyond that to actually scare things.

Maybe for the same reason why people collect shinies or breedables in specific balls? Because they want to and/or want to use it in battle? :p
