Arena = TELEPORTATION!
Field Type: Variable
Complexity: Variable
Format: Variable

Restrictions: Weather Effects, Room Effects, Entry Hazards, & Gravity only last until the end of a round, unless the same arena is rolled twice in a row, otherwise, Variable

Description: Yes, you better believe it! At the end of every round (And at the beginning of the match), the referee will roll a number between 0* & however many arenas there are in the arena compendium thread (Each representing an arena in the Arena Compendium Thread in chronological order). Whichever number you roll, for the next round, the battle will take place on that arena. Its as simple as that.

*0 represents the ASB Tournament Arena.

Concept Arenas do not count, either...Neither does TELEPORTATION! itself.

Summary: A new arena every round.
Man, there are THREE WHOLE PAGES OF ARENA COMPENDIUM THREAD HERE! You guys are going to have to cut me some slack.

And so, let's start out in...
Field Type: Ground
Complexity: Moderate
Format: All

Restrictions: No Direct Weather, Artificial Field, Limited Ceiling, Water Source Artificially Generated, Seismic Activity Allowed

Description:

This arena is a small, enclosed space. It resembles the Holodeck from Star Trek when it's not activated. In this location, I capture various techniques to use for my Gizoids. However, a new function was recently added...to USE said attacks in testing...

As the battle progresses, each move made by the battlers is recorded. It is then placed into a databank.

At the end of every round, move will randomly be selected from the databank, and both Pokemon will be hit by that move, with perfect accuracy, coming off a Base 3 Attack/Sp. Attack. These go through Substitutes and do not break Double Team, though normal damage will still be rolled for.

Weather cannot be directly summoned, but if a weather move is attempted, it goes into the aforementioned databank. If selected, that weather takes the field for 3 Rounds. All Seismic Activity is repaired immediately, and Water sources and other such sources are artificially generated.

If a nonattacking move is selected from the databank, then if it has positive effects for the user, nothing happens. If it is negative towards the opponent, then all foes are afflicted with it. Hopefully, the ref has enough common sense to have good judgement in discretion of these.

All moves have an equal chance of happening, no matter how many times they are used.

Thank you for contributin to the Gizoid databank.

A soft reminder to read through the arenas when you orders, 'kay? Because it's only going to make your life easier, not mine.

Hmm...Phantump. Interesting. I'll really have to get adapted to Gen 6. What better way than to use my Noibat@EXP. Share! Go ahead and activate Infiltrator! (According to IRC Frisk does not affect Training items.)

Noibat: Air Cutter --- Dark Pulse --- Air Cutter
IF successful Protective/Evasive move, THEN Chill.

Hmm... On one hand, that stump of a grey-brown tree doesn't look intimidating, but on the other hand, neither did the purple owl-bat. Gen 6 LCs look, uhm, not-so-aspiring if one hopes too high. Sonicboom-Noibat started off with more of a recon strike rather than a full assault, which Gregorovitch-Phantump exploited along with his opponent's weak spot in defense to create a lead with a well-placed Leech Seed and Rock Slides amidst Dark Pulse and shears of Air Cutters. Perhaps with mons being more liable to KOs than EN exhaustion, EN conservation is not so important in Singles?

... Odd, why didn't the Technique Recorder start up? Lemme give it a whack.

*WHACK*

... Now it works! Still the battle progresses on - battlers have nothing in their eyes but the conditions of their Pokemons anyway. Sonicboom-Noibat scores a lucky crit on an Air Cutter, but it is still not enough to fell Gregorovitch-Phantump's before Psychic and physical leeching finally buried his Dark attacks under a pie of Rocks. Guess when all else is the same, a good defensive play can actually help out in the long run. But whoa, did Gregorovitch-{hantump just got thrown off to a... portal?! AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH.......

New Arena: Sky Tower
Field Type - Steel / Flying
Complexity - Moderate
Format - All
Restrictions - No water source, No seismic activity, No grass in area, No rocks in area

Sky Tower: A tower entirely consisting of clouds. It is home to the great Rayquaza, who can be woken up and enraged by careless battlers.

As it is situated in the sky, seismic attacks will have no effect. There is a lack of natural substances here, so moves requiring external rocks, grass or water may not work. Dig may be used, but the user will fall through the clouds and faint if it is not a Flying type. Flying types have extra mobility here, so they gain +10% evasion and +15% speed. Rayquaza sleeps in this arena, so if any Pokémon uses a move blocked by Soundproof, or a move that targets all competitors, Rayquaza will awaken and attack all competitors with a Rank 6 Attack STAB boosted Dragon Claw (factoring in weakness and resistance).

Careful to remain quiet, Athena-Honedge moves faster than the eye can see, causing Gregorovitch-Phantump to throw up a Protect hastily. But it turns out that AOPS was just feinting with a Double Team ruse as Athena-Honedge created illusions of itself. Know as 5 doppels throw themselves at Gregorovitch-Phantump, to the latter's credit he managed to evade 2 of the 5. Unfortunately, the other 3 still Snuck right up to his Shadows and knocked him out, forestalling Phantump-Gregorovitch's death cry that might woke up the Rayquaza.

Arena: Sky Tower

Apparently, even thought the Sky Tower seems to be made of clouds, it is actually built upon rock and stone, which Artemis-Honedge used in an effect to stave off Apollo-Helioptile's Dark thoughts and Thunder Shocks - thank goodness it's not raining here. Odd though - how does a critter scare a sword? Answer - by threatening to wake up the slumbering behemoth right beside them at all cost. Athena-Honedge finally couldn't take it, and the last piled up Rock Slide failed due to it's flinching, scattering the debris in all directions...

And it seems Jirachi continues to stand invisible by Subs' side as Apollo-Helioptile scores a critical flinch on his second Dark Pulse attack, again disrupting the flow of Athena-Honedge's Rocky barrage. Plus, the Parabolic Charges drained away most of the ghost blades vitality, leaving the yellow eclectic creature feisty as ever. Suddenly sensing some terrible intent from his opponent, Apollo-Helioptile quickly zaps Athena-Honedge with a Thunder Shock! But it doesn't stop the latter from exploding with a silent, defiant cry. The premonition of the force woke Rayquaza, the Lord of the Skies, from its slumber. As Rayquaza's eyelids slid back and the pupils contracted, they reflected the Trainers eyes as well - Subs in horror, AOPS in manic desperation, and Rayquaza reared....

... And then nothing. Except, of course, a lot of reflections.

Arena: Hall of Mirrors

New Arena:
Field Type: Psychic
Complexity: Intense
Format: Singles
Abilities: All
Items: Off
Switch: OK

Image
The Hall of Mirrors in Versailles is one of the most elegant, and one of the most iconic, places in France, and perhaps even the world! What better place might there be to do battle?

Due to the vast amount of mirrors and reflective items, Reflect and Light Screen have +1 priority, since they are much easier to conjure in this environment. What's more, any attempt to shatter them with Brick Break will bring bad luck upon the user, causing all secondary effects to occur against them! Mirror Shot and Mirror Coat also cost half the energy they normally might. Due to being indoors, weather is banned. All moves (other than those listed below) function as normal, and seismic moves will not damage the arena significantly.

The mirrors situated around the room each function as if they have the ability Magic Bounce, reflecting everything such an ability normally might. With this reflection, Flash also becomes an 8 BP special Fire attack against the opponent, though it deals 1/4 of the damage it inflicts in recoil. Psyshock will shatter screen moves with no adverse effects.

Summary:

  • Screens have +1 priority.
  • Shattering screens with Brick Break makes every secondary effect RNG roll turn against the perpetrator for 7 actions.
  • Mirror Shot and Mirror Coat cost half the energy.
  • Mirrors around the room act like they have Magic Bounce.
  • Flash becomes an 8 BP special Fire attack with 1/4 recoil.
  • Psyshock breaks screens (after dealing damage).

Protect-Charge+Electric Terrain (Attempt to boost SpD for each action of Electric Terrain)
***IF the ref decides the combo would not have intended effect then change A2 and A3 to Dark Pulse and Razor Wind respectively

Referee ruling: Combo would not work as intended. Using a single combo to get up to +6 SpDef passively within 2 rounds then still retaining that for about another 5 more rounds is not the definition of balanced I personally had in mind (Electric Terrain lasts 4 rounds, not to mention stage boosts decay by one per round). Also, since mirrors have Magic Bounce in effect, any non-damaging moves that missed the target will be rebounded back at the user (although given that Protect is a shield, I can assume that Protect absorbs the hit without rebounding or Toxic missing).

My head is spinning.... Sooooo many Goomies and Helioptiles, I dunno which one is the real~ that's it, I'll just focus at one particularly large mirror!

So Blob-Goomy vomited all over Apollo-Helioptile, but it got absorbed out when the latter revealed a Protective shield to block up. Seeing that mere Toxicity doesn't work, Blob-Goomy started swamping Wave after wave of heavy Sludge instead, despite nearly being toppled over by Apollo-Helioptile's Dark insinuations and Razor-sharp Wind shears. The owner of the Hall of Mirrors must have anticipated the intensity of a Pokemon battle - so far, none of the mirrors suffered even a scratch...
