Swanna:because there weren't enough mediocre water/flying types.

edit: Even so, that doesn't excuse it. Those are the kind of things you would say, but not write in an analysis. It's basically slang, and in this case slang i've never seen before.

[Overview]

From first appearances, Swanna looks mediocre at best, with no base stats over 100. However, believe it or not, she's definitely a threat to watch out for. In rain conditions, Swanna becomes a powerhouse with Hurricane, a move that sets her apart from other rain abusers. Swanna has amazing offensive stats, with a base speed of 98 that outspeeds many threats in NU, such as Gardevoir and Braviary. She also has a wide variety of coverage moves, along with Roost that, which pairs well with her Hydration ability.

Unfortunately, Swanna is far from invincible, and has many obstacles in it's path. Stealth Rock happens to be one of them, as Swanna has a weakness to it. Swanna's movepool is lacking in viable move selections, leaving her with one viablegood set. Despite boasting one of the best defensive typings in NU, her less than subpar defenses hold Swanna back; base 63 stats are far from great. Through thick and thin, however, Swanna can shine in rain conditions with it's STAB moves, making Swanna an amazing ally to any rain team.

[SET]
name: Offensive
move 1: Surf
move 2: Hurricane
move 3: Rain Dance / Substitute
move 4: Rest / Roost
item: Life Orb
ability: Hydration
nature: Timid
EV's: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

The Rain Offensive set foris is Swanna i's her best set for the NU environment. Having two STAB moves that benefit greatly from rain, Swanna shows immense potential as a sweeper., and 98 base speed is enough to outspeed most of the NU metagame. Any Pokemon who can't wall Swanna is either result in being severely wounded, or 1HKO'd.

Surf is the primary STAB move of this set, having a power increase from rain. Hurricane is Swanna's secondary STAB move of this set. What makes Hurricane so great? Well, it bragoasts a base 120 power, an 100% accuracy rate in rain, and thea 30% chance of confusing the opponent, something that even the most defensive Pokemon in NU can't handle if they don't resist it.

For the final two moveslots, you either have the combination of Rain Dance + Rest, or Substitute + Roost. For RainRestthe former, as long as rain is active on the battlefield, Swanna can heal herself to full HP at any time because of Hydration. RainRest is also a great combo because, and it allows Swanna to become self-sufficient, providing her own rain when needed. It also gives Swanna the ability to not only power up her STAB movesurf, but to make Hurricane, her strongest move, 100% accurate. However, this combo won't work if rain isn't in play, and Swanna can't heal at anytime if such a situation occurs. Theoutside of rain. SubRoost set is slightly more generous in lettings Swanna heal when she pleases. SubRoost let's Swanna, ward off statuses with Substitute, and heal half of her
HP back with Roost. It also lets Swanna take advantage of obvious switches to set up a Substitute, and dodge Sucker Punch. The downside of this pair is that, unlike the RainRest set, if Swanna gets inflicted with a status, Swanna can't heal it off, and once rain subsides, Swanna doesn't have a way to summon it again.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Timid nature is used to maximize Swanna's speed. Life Orb maximizincreases Swanna's SpApower, and can easily be healed off from Rest/Roost, making Life Orb the surperior option to Leftovers. Big Piecks and Keen Eyes aren't useful abilities in this metagame, making Hydration the only viable option. Ice Beam can be used for extra coverage, although, it's not worth the slot in the long run, as it only checksdeals with Altaria, who isn't common enough to worry over. Hidden Power Grass can be used to handle Seismitoad and Carracosta., Hidden Power Electric can also beis an option to deal with Mantine and other Swanna., and Air Slash can be used in place of Hurricane when Swanna isn't used in rain for this set.

As this set is used in Rain conditions, partners like Volbeat and Electrode are great, as they can provide constant rain. Revenge killers, such as Choice Scarf Swawk, can outspeed Swanna and proceed to KO it. Choice Scarf Rotom-S is a good ally to handle Sawk and other revenge killers. Zebstrika and Raichu are good partners, as they can absorb Electric-type attacks that Swanna attracts. Stealth Rock is a problem as well; spinners such as Armaldo and Wartortle are good buddies alongsideto Swanna, as they can Rapid Spin Stealthe hazards Rock away. Lickilicky and Miltank are bulky Pokemon that takes a while for Swanna to KO. Fighting-types, such as Gurdurr, are good teammates to use against those walls. Hazards are great to have on the field to aid Swanna's sweeping. Garbador and Cacturne are both great sSpikes users who also have good synergy with Swanna. Pokemon who set Stealth Rock, such as Cradily and Golurk, are good partners as well. Mold Breaker Sawk can also prevent other Stealth Rock users from setting up, something that aids Swanna greatly.

[OTHER OPTIONS]

Swanna has a very poor movepool, so she doesn't have many viable sets left. Damp Rock is an option, but it wastes Swanna's proud offensives power, which should be used in almost any set, due to Swanna's sad defenses. Brave Bird Swanna is plausible, but doesn't have much use anymore. Scald could be used in place of Surf for the burn chance, but the power drop is easily noticedable. Tailwind and FeatherDance could be used for support moves. Choice Scarf Swanna is one of the very few viable options left for her, and it should be used when Swanna isn't in the rain.

[Checks and Counters]

Swanna has it's fair share of Pokemon who can deal with her. Scarf Rotom-A are among them, checking Swanna with Volt Switch. It shouldn't be a switch-in, however, due to being KO'd by Surf in rain. The same applies for any Electric-types; specifically Ampharos and Electabuzz, who can resist Hurricane and 1HKO Swanna. Bulky Pokemon, such as Musharna and Lickilicky, can take several STAB Hurricanes, and proceed to strike back. Altaria is a big counter to Swanna that doesn't carry Ice Beam, as it can wall Swanna all day. Revenge killers can outspeed Swanna and easily KO her. An example of this would be Choice Scarf Sawk, who can get rid of Swanna with Stone Edge. Articuno, Regice, and Lapras can wall all of Swanna's attacks, due to their high Special Defense. The latter two have access to Thunderbolt, and can check Swanna with it.

Comments:
First you say Swanna has a wide variety of coverage moves, then you say it has few viable ones. What?
The phrase "Anything that can't wall it is OHKO'd or severely wounded" is fairly useless. This is A:Probably not true if you switch in a resist, I.E. a check and B: silly because anything that isn't a special wall usually takes heavy damage from special sweepers.
Saying "of this set" is super redundant, doubly so for the set comments and triply so because no other primary set exists in the analysis.
Can any special wall that doesn't resist hurricane take two? You say not but I have my doubts, although I don't know NU that well so i could be off here.
You can't just make up your own words, RainRest, especially without notice. So I just rearranged that section to eliminate that without writing out Rain Dance + Rest.
Swanna has hydration, what does she care about status? sure she doesn't love it espc if rain is gone but still. Also, SubRoost is not its own set, merely a different version of a set. And the huge benefit of SubRoost is that you sub and then hit a check to Hydro Pump with Hurricane or a Hurricane resist with Hydro Pump as they outspeed and break your sub.
Life orb Section:Firstly, it doesn't maximize it:Choice Specs Does: Secondly, you don't even mention Lefties benefits or lefties until you suddenly go "That's why LO>lefties". Also LO increase Atk as well.
Finally, there are a short list of contractions you're allowed to use, LO is not one of them. Yes everyone uses it. But still, stay away from that kind of stuff unless you are sure.
Ice Beam doesn't really check altaria so much as deal with it.
"Air slash is for when Swanna is not in rain" "Swanna is used in rain conditions". Bad placement there really, maybe say something like "almost always" or "you should reconsider non-rain Swanna for a diff poke".
How does Scarf Rotom-S deal with Sawk? Other than outspeeding it, it has the same weaks to sawk's moves as Swanna's.
Swanna doesn't give a damn about Spikes/Tspikes so it's just SR that is spun.
at the start you say Hurricane 2hko's all non-resists, but apparently not stuff like Lickilicky and Musharna from what you say?
Maybe at the end mention a diff. scarfer than the one you mentioned earlier? or two?
