B3P2 Singles
72h DQ, 1 Warning
Abilities: All
Items: ON
Switch: OK
Megas: 1
Z-Moves: 1
Substitutions: 3
Recoveries: 2 per Pokemon
Chills: 5 per Pokemon
Arena: Variable
Special Rule #1: The game ends when the first KO is scored. The trainer of the KO'd pokemon loses that game.
Special Rule #2: Combinations cannot be used
Special Rule #3: Damaging Evasive Moves must be suspended for 1 action at the minimum. This means Dig is not legal, but Dig (Suspend) - Dig (Attack) and Dig (S) - Dig (S) - Dig (A) are.
Mt. Thunder
Zapdos’s nesting place is constantly struck by lightning descending from dark and looming thunder clouds. The unstable weather requires careful preparation and anti-electricity measures.
  • The BAP of all Water-type moves is reduced by three (3)
  • Default weather is Thunder Clouds
    • Thunder Clouds makes all moves cost two (2) extra EN
    • Thunder Clouds paralyzes all active Pokémon when it changes directly into Rainy
    • Thunder Clouds sets Electric Terrain for three (3) actions if a damaging move whose name contains “Thunder” is successfully performed. This effect cannot be refreshed
Codifications
Camouflage: Rock
Nature Power: Earth Power
Secret Power: Decreases the target's Speed by one (1) stage.
====================
Windswept Valley
This plateau is assaulted by bolts of lightning and ferocious winds. Zapdos is known to come rest here if it needs to recharge, as these bolts greatly power the bird.
  • All Pokémon are under the effect of Motor Drive
  • The damage formula treats Speed boosts and drops as being Attack/Special Attack boosts and drops
  • Speed boosts decay half as fast, Speed drops decay twice as fast
Codifications
Camouflage: Normal
Nature Power: Thunderbolt
Secret Power: Paralyzes the target
=====================
Eye of the Thunderstorm
In the exact middle of the Windswept Valley, a small area is unnaturally calm. It would almost feel relaxing to stand there if not for the massive tension in the atmosphere, wanting nothing more than being released.
  • Thunder can hit Pokémon in the evasive stage of Dig. If it does, it ignores the target’s Ground typing
  • Moves with “Wind” in their name have their BAP increased by three (3)
  • Moves with “Wind” in their name set Tailwind for three (3) actions when successfully performed. This effect cannot be refreshed
Codifications
Camouflage: Psychic
Nature Power: Psyshock
Secret Power: Decreases the target's Defense by one (1) stage.
=====================
Sea of Clouds
Above the dark thunder clouds is a calm sea of pure, fluffy, white clouds. Careful, though, ascending winds are pretty strong here, and you don’t want to get caught in one!
  • No Pokémon can Dig
  • Fly and Bounce have to be suspended at least two actions before the Pokémon can use the Attack version
  • Hurricane gets 100% Accuracy
  • All sun-based moves treat this arena as being in harsh sunlight
Codifications
Camouflage: Flying
Nature Power: Tri Attack
Secret Power: Paralyzes the target
======================
Static Airfield
A giant black thundercloud blots out the whole sky. Although it doesn't look like it will thunder any time soon, the immense static charge it exerts can be harnessed by Pokemon to create an electrical current of their own.
  • After using a damaging [Electric-Type or Normal-Type] attack, the Pokemon gains one Electron. Damaging Normal-Type attacks by Pokemon with Electrons become Electric-Type attacks
  • If the user has any Electrons while using an Electric-Type Contact attack, then increase the move's BAP by 3 per Electron, ignore immunities to Electric moves granted by Abilities and Types, remove all Electrons from the user, and give the target one (1) Electron
  • Roost removes all Electrons from the user
  • Electrons do not persist through switching
Codifications
Camouflage: Electric
Nature Power: Thunderbolt
Secret Power: Paralyzes the target

I ref

"Geez, the battle hasn't even started and I feel like my team composition is really bad against this team. In any event, I don't particularly enjoy the idea of taking a trip to Mt. Thunder, so let's cross that off the list."

"I've been meaning to get back out on the hunt for some rare pokemon! It looks like this is the place to do it!"

"Unfortunately a foe still stands in my way, and I don't particularly think I'd like to fight him in the Windswept Valley or the Sea Of Clouds so lets avoid travelling to those areas team."

Striking the Sea of Clouds and the Windswept Valley

:Blastoise: "I think we might be lost."

"I'm telling you, it clearly said take a right turn at Cerulean City, then a left at Vermillion City, then a surf across the river to the power plant, from there we take a hike up the mountains until we hit the crossroads. Trust me I know where I'm going, we're heading down a river aren't we?"

:Cinccino: "Were we supposed to take the road onto Nugget Bridge? The locals seemed very upset for some reason. Quite a bumpy road too."

:Crustle: "Relax everybody, just let the waves calm your emotions in preparation for our battle."

:Blastoise: "Says the gal that isn't surfing us to our destination."

:Cinccino: "Hey look guys, I see a cavern entrance up ahead."

:Blastoise: "I don't remember anything about a cavern in those directions."

"Eh, probably just a short tunnel leading to the power plant, let's leave off here."

:Blastoise: "I dunno...I don't think I like the look of this place..."

Minutes Later

:Mewtwo: "'Sup."

"I think we might've gone the wrong way guys."

Hours and a trip the the Pokemon Center Later

"Okay I think we finally found the place...I really don't like the look of the Static Airfield which means we're fighting on the Eye of the Thunderstorm. Let's start with this!"

w/King's Rock
"I get to start first? Yay!"

"There you are! I was starting to get worried!"

"Now that we've made our way to this arena though I think you're the one that needs to be worried! Get out here Iris the Silvally, use this Fighting Memory and get us on the path to catching Zapdos!"

:fighting memory:
Multi-Attack - Multi-Attack - Multi-Attack
***IF Cinccino is to use a Multi-hit move, use Razor Wind that action.
***IF Cinccino is to use U-Turn, use Pursuit that action.
***IF Cinccino is under the effects of a P/E move when you are to act, use Work Up that action.

"I thought taking a break for months was supposed to stop me from making idiotic mistakes like this. New fact I learned: Razor Wind just straight up invalidates Cinccino. Guess I'll have to release her when this is over."

:Cinccino: "WHAT?!"

Rain (3r)

Here, in the only part of the valley not oppressed by thunderclouds, two Trainers are about to create a tumult of their own. ...Well, at least one Trainer is going to. Cinccino's so frightened of the wind that she can barely stand in place. Silvally, the dauntless Beast Killer, has no such qualms. Savoring the terror on Cinccino's face, it punts the little rodent into the stratosphere with its muscular legs. At the same time, rain begins to fall, as if the sky itself is crying over Silvally's cruel savagery.
Frankly, things looks a little bleak for Maxim. This is still a first-to-KO format, though! If one of Cinccino's teammates comes to the rescue then the HP deficit might not come into play at all!

Watch out, everyone -- Mega Blastoise is here, and he isn't playing around! The giant water cannon on his back is scary enough to make even Silvally want to run away! And that it does, kicking up huge swaths of dirt behind it as it turns tail. Blastoise blasts it in the back twice as it retreats, and even corners it briefly with a Fake Out, but he is ultimately unable to keep the nimble doggo pinned down. As for who is going to replace Silvally, in this sandy weather I can hazard a guess...

Normally Dracozolt would be the slower one here, but its huge hind legs are specialized for running across sandy terrain. In a flash, it appears before Blastoise! Down come its electrified jaws, and with a snap, a crackle, and a pop they chew right through Blastoise's tough shell. Blastoise fires back with a pulse of dragonic energy from the Mega Launcher on his back, but to no avail -- those high-powered Bolt Beaks make short work of him.

After a difficult climb, we've finally reached the peak of Mount Thunder! Look at those ominous thunderclouds overhead! Kinda makes you nervous being so high up in this weather, doesn't it?

Perhaps Crustle is the one who should be most nervous, though. Silvally's steel-coated claws are tearing away chunks of her rocky armor swipe by swipe! By the end of a2, the entire ground is littered in little rock shards. Crustle had better switch out -- the only parts left on her body are the parts she can't afford to lose!
