This is kind of a different twist on Serp's Coil set. Coil makes Serperior extremely hard to break through with physical attackers, and Grass+Water coverage is pretty good at taking out its would be counters (fire types like Torkoal), and has good neutral coverage, but it is resisted by any other grass type (CM Serperior for example). Since Serperior needs the power from Life Orb, it has synthesis to recover all the damage it takes. I thought about going mono-grass, but it doesn't seem like a good idea with flying types, Scolipede, and sap sippers running around. Dragon Tail is an option over Aqua Tail if a team has hazards set up, and also pushes its grass counters out, but it does go last and its counters may have a super effective special move to take it out, so I slashed it in their.
