Title: This team should not work for any reason. A Shoddy Warstory.

So here is a fun team I’ve been working on. See if you can spot the LOL reason why this shouldn’t work, but manages to do well more often than not. I won’t ruin the surprise, so I’ll just give you a tease to start.

Deck’s Starter Pokemon:

Dark`’s Team:

My pokemon will be in RED, Dark`’s in BLUE.

Rules: Evasion Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Sleep Clause, Species Clause, Strict Damage Clause, Timed Battle
Deck_Fun sent out Claydol (lvl 100 Claydol).
Dark` sent out Swampert (lvl 100 Swampert ?).

We start sizing each other up. Will Claydol run? I think not. I have setup to do.

Claydol used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around your foe's team!
Swampert used Stealth Rock.

Dark` also sets up some rocks. This is an even playing field now.

Claydol used Rapid Spin.
Claydol blew away the spikes!
Swampert lost 2% of its health.
Swampert used Roar.
Deck_Fun switched in Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor ?).
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 2% of its health.

Claydol spins wildly before it is Roared out, clearing my field of spikes. I get lucky with this one, Scizor has a chance for damage here.

Scizor used Swords Dance.
Scizor's attack was sharply raised.
Swampert used Stealth Rock.

Predicting my opponent would not waste the opportunity for rocks again, I called for Scizor to boost its Attack.

Scizor used U-turn.
Swampert lost 54% of its health.
Deck_Fun switched in Claydol (lvl 100 Claydol).
Pointed stones dug into Claydol.
Claydol lost 6% of its health.
Claydol makes ground moves miss with Levitate!
Swampert used Earthquake.
Swampert's attack missed!
Claydol's leftovers restored its health a little!
Claydol restored 6% of its health.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

Scizor makes a swift U-Turn out, hitting Swampert for heavy damage. It’s mostly luck Claydol avoided an EQ instead of eating Waterfall or Surf. I begin to wonder if my foe’s Swampert even has a water move, but I never find out.

Dark` switched in Gallade (lvl 100 Gallade ?).
Pointed stones dug into Gallade.
Gallade lost 6% of its health.
Claydol used Rapid Spin.
Claydol blew away the spikes!
A critical hit!
Gallade lost 13% of its health.

Now, you may ask why I’m incessantly clearing spikes, even though all of my team so far is neutral or resistant to them. The answer will become clear soon. Also, Rapid Spin hax!

Gallade used Close Combat.
It's not very effective...
Claydol lost 40% of its health.
Gallade's defence was lowered.
Gallade's special defence was lowered.
Claydol used Trick Room.
Claydol twisted the dimensions!
Claydol's leftovers restored its health a little!
Claydol restored 6% of its health.

To be honest, I can’t really explain this turn. Perhaps Dark` thought I would fear Night Slash or Leaf Blade and switch out to something else, and wanted to get in a big hit. Either way my ideal setup was nearly complete.

Claydol used Explosion.
Gallade lost 81% of its health.
Dark`'s Gallade fainted.
Deck_Fun's Claydol fainted.

I knew thee well Claydol. You have served your purpose admirably. Now time for the LOL train.

5-5

Deck_Fun switched in Smeargle (lvl 1 Smeargle ?).
Dark` switched in Magnezone (lvl 100 Magnezone).
Pointed stones dug into Magnezone.
Magnezone lost 6% of its health.
Smeargle used Spore.
Magnezone fell asleep!
Magnezone is fast asleep!
Magnezone's leftovers restored its health a little!
Magnezone restored 6% of its health.

Smeargle Lv 1. What horrors will this portend for my foe? Why, Spore of course. Will he stay or will he go? I don’t care, but soon I’ll know!

Dark` switched in Garchomp (lvl 100 Garchomp ?).
Pointed stones dug into Garchomp.
Garchomp lost 6% of its health.
Smeargle used Endeavor.
Garchomp lost 90% of its health.

Now, if you’re Garchomp in this situation and you just got Endeavored by a level 1 Pokemon at full health you’re probably feeling pretty safe. No way Smeargle could take out 12 HP from your fully evolved titan, right?

Smeargle used Dragon Rage.
Garchomp lost 3% of its health.
Dark`'s Garchomp fainted.
The twisted dimensions returned to normal!

Or so you would think. The mighty Garchomp is taken down by the unlikeliest of foes. Smeargle is in a bad position though. The Trick Room has expired and a foe is already Spored.

5-4 Deck

Dark` switched in Swampert (lvl 100 Swampert ?).
Pointed stones dug into Swampert.
Swampert lost 6% of its health.
Swampert used Earthquake.
A critical hit!
Smeargle lost 100% of its health.
Smeargle hung on using its Focus Sash!
Smeargle used Trick Room.
Smeargle twisted the dimensions!
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

Smeargle used Endeavor.
Swampert lost 52% of its health.
Swampert used Earthquake.
Smeargle lost 8% of its health.
Deck_Fun's Smeargle fainted.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

Smeargle is sacrificed to get in another Trick Room, and it brings Swampert back down to low HP as its final act. As a note, my opponents EQ hax is in vain!

4-4

Deck_Fun switched in Donphan (lvl 100 Donphan ?).
Donphan used Earthquake.
Swampert lost 6% of its health.
Dark`'s Swampert fainted.

I send in Donphan to finish it off. With trick room still in effect my slow pigmy elephant easily cleans up the Swamperty mess.

4-3 Deck

Dark` switched in Blissey (lvl 100 Blissey ?).
Pointed stones dug into Blissey.
Blissey lost 12% of its health.
Donphan used Earthquake.
Blissey lost 44% of its health.
Blissey used Aromatherapy.
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.

Donphan used Earthquake.
Blissey lost 46% of its health.
Blissey used Softboiled.
Blissey restored 50% of its health.
The twisted dimensions returned to normal!
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.

This continues for a while. Stall wars are simply part and parcel to Blissey use. Now fast forwarding past the stall.

Donphan used Ice Shard.
Blissey lost 11% of its health.
Blissey used Ice Beam.
It's super effective!
Donphan lost 33% of its health.
Deck_Fun's Donphan fainted.
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.

Eventually Donphan goes down to fat Bloss. Blissey is weakened down to low %’s, but it’s still around.

3-3

Deck_Fun switched in Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor ?).
Scizor used Pursuit.
A critical hit!
Blissey lost 17% of its health.
Dark`'s Blissey fainted.

I switch in Scizor again, hoping Blissey will try and run in fear of Brick Break. I am unsure if the hax was necessary or not, but I’m glad Bloss is down.

3-2 Deck

Dark` switched in Gliscor (lvl 100 Gliscor ?).
Pointed stones dug into Gliscor.
Gliscor lost 12% of its health.
Deck_Fun switched in Swampert (lvl 100 Swampert ?).
Gliscor used Taunt.
Swampert fell for the taunt!
Gliscor's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gliscor restored 6% of its health.

Unable to really damage Gliscor with Scizor, I switch out to Swampert, and Gliscor says mean, nasty things to it.

Dark` switched in Magnezone (lvl 100 Magnezone).
Pointed stones dug into Magnezone.
Magnezone lost 6% of its health.
Swampert used Waterfall.
Magnezone lost 34% of its health.
Magnezone's leftovers restored its health a little!
Magnezone restored 6% of its health.

Gliscor takes a quick reprieve to dodge Waterfall for Magnezone, who was healed by Blissey’s earlier Aromatherapy.

Dark` switched in Gliscor (lvl 100 Gliscor ?).
Pointed stones dug into Gliscor.
Gliscor lost 12% of its health.
Swampert used Earthquake.
It doesn't affect Gliscor...
Gliscor's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gliscor restored 6% of its health.

Whether Magnezone did not possess Magnet Rise, or was just afraid Swampert was faster, I do not know. Either way, in a presumed panic, Magnezone switches back to Gliscor, who evades Earthquake with ease.

Gliscor used Earthquake.
Swampert lost 25% of its health.
Swampert used Waterfall.
It's super effective!
Gliscor lost 39% of its health.
Gliscor's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gliscor restored 6% of its health.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

Gliscor used Roost.
Gliscor restored 45% of its health.
Swampert used Waterfall.
It's super effective!
Gliscor lost 38% of its health.
Swampert's taunt wore off!
Gliscor's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gliscor restored 6% of its health.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

Gliscor and Swampert butt heads and refusing to go down, Gliscor Roosts off some damage, trying a war of attrition strategy. With Roost + Leftovers it could probably stall out Waterfall while taking pot shots with Earthquake. I would have none of this, so I tried to get an edge.

Gliscor used Taunt.
Swampert fell for the taunt!
Swampert used Curse.
Swampert can't use Curse after the taunt!
Gliscor's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gliscor restored 6% of its health.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

My attempt failed, and Swampert was Taunted again. It was time for a desperate move.

Deck_Fun switched in Taillow (lvl 1 Taillow ?).
Gliscor used Earthquake.
It doesn't affect Taillow...
Gliscor's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gliscor restored 6% of its health.

Behold my other Lv 1 titan, Taillow. With its two impressive immunities, it can find an opening and bring the pain. Or something.

Gliscor used Ice Fang.
It's super effective!
A critical hit!
Taillow lost 100% of its health.
Taillow hung on using its Focus Sash!
Taillow used Toxic.
Gliscor was badly poisoned!
Gliscor's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gliscor restored 6% of its health.
Gliscor is hurt by poison!
Gliscor lost 6% of its health.

I could have used Endeavor. It would have been predictable, and Gliscor would still survive thanks to Lefties. Had he chosen to Taunt instead, I may have been SOL. Again Dark` gets LOL crit hax on a Focus Sash.

Gliscor used Ice Fang.
It's super effective!
Taillow lost 9% of its health.
Deck_Fun's Taillow fainted.
Gliscor's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gliscor restored 6% of its health.
Gliscor is hurt by poison!
Gliscor lost 12% of its health.

Taillow goes down, but the damage is done. Gliscor’s stalling attempts will be in vain. Thank you, brave little birdie.

2-2

Deck_Fun switched in Swampert (lvl 100 Swampert ?).
Gliscor used Taunt.
Swampert fell for the taunt!
Swampert used Earthquake.
It doesn't affect Gliscor...
Gliscor's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gliscor restored 6% of its health.
Gliscor is hurt by poison!
Gliscor lost 19% of its health.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

Gliscor used Earthquake.
Swampert lost 25% of its health.
Swampert used Earthquake.
It doesn't affect Gliscor...
Gliscor's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gliscor restored 6% of its health.
Gliscor is hurt by poison!
Gliscor lost 25% of its health.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

I kept using Earthquake, predicting Gliscor may want to cut its Toxic losses and switch to Magnezone. My gambit failed twice, but Gliscor was quickly succumbing to Taillow’s Toxic present.

Gliscor used Earthquake.
Swampert lost 25% of its health.
Swampert used Waterfall.
It's super effective!
Gliscor lost 40% of its health.
Gliscor's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gliscor restored 6% of its health.
Gliscor is hurt by poison!
Gliscor lost 10% of its health.
Dark`'s Gliscor fainted.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

I finally decided to finish Gliscor off.

2-1 Deck

Dark` switched in Magnezone (lvl 100 Magnezone).
Pointed stones dug into Magnezone.
Magnezone lost 6% of its health.
Magnezone used Hidden Power.
Swampert lost 21% of its health.
Swampert used Earthquake.
It's super effective!
Magnezone lost 60% of its health.
Dark`'s Magnezone fainted.
Deck_Fun wins!

All that was left was Magnezone, who tried valiantly to finish Swampert with HP Ice, but to no avail.

2-0 Deck

Dark`: gg
Deck_Fun: gg
Dark` has left the room.

The battlers wished each other goodbye, after a strange and ridiculous match.

Props(+):

Smeargle for being an evil avatar of Level 1 insanity, disabling one foe, KOing another, and leaving the other critically wounded.
Claydol for performing its functions for the team admirably.
Taillow for its win-enabling sacrifice.
Dark` for being a great opponent.

Slops(-):
Donphan for getting locked in a ridiculous stall-war with Blissey.
FEAR because it shouldn’t work, and yet clearly does with insane amounts of support…

The rest of Deck’s team:

If you enjoyed this warstory, tell me why. If you didn’t, it’s because you FEAR me >_>

this was a very enjoyable team. Good to see people winning without bog standards

I just played really bad. I miscounted the turns of Trick Room and tried to outpredict the entire match.

In all honesty, it just looks like you posted this for props. I clearly played horribly and made the upmost retarded moves you can possibly make in any situation.

GG nevertheless.

That's very similar to The_Duckster's gimmick. I'm glad to see it work, but Smeargle should not be setting up Trick Room imo, and it originally had Cutsap Berry.

Also, it works best with Sandstream support, though that would have hindered you in this particular situation.

I just wonder how this team will respond to any Ghost type (very poorly I should imagine)
Scizor has Pursuit, about the only Ghost that will survive it is Dusknoir. Essentially the idea is to set up SR, Trick Room, and then have Claydol Explode. That gives me 3 turns of Trick Room left. If a Ghost switches in on Claydol during Explosion, I switch in Scizor to corner them. If a Ghost switches into Smeargle, it better hope I haven't already spored something.

I have two Rapid Spinners, and Swampert can change the weather.

I mean, it may be a fun team, but I was legitimately trying to use FEAR. That means I've tried to account for all manner of Spikes, Ghosts, Sandstorm/Hail, and so on.

One reason I have Taillow instead of Rattata is that it's immune to Spikes and Toxic Spikes, and can switch in on EQ.

BLAZIKEN_57, why would Sandstorm help you since you're going to be Focus Sashing down to 1 HP? If Sandstorm were out he'd lose two team members before they could do anything other than Endeavor, without SS up he could get at least one extra turn's use out of them.

Spiritomb is neutral to Dark and will probably the most problematic Ghost.

The idea is to Endeavor on the switch or while something is sleeping, then Sandstorm will finish them off. Except the sandstorm-immune Pokes and Blissey, in which case Dragon Rage will kill them. It saves Trick Room turns and allows you to whittle your health down so the Cutsap Berry will activate at an opportune moment.

I'd probably just try to hit it with Toxic, then try and defeat it with Scizor. Or if I hit it with Spore it wouldn't be doing much. If it's Rest-Talk Spiritomb I'm SOL.

I like the concept and I would have enjoyed reading it more if not for the constant LOLing as well as the colors that kept popping up.

And yet again a garchomp falls to a small, and for most people weak, pokemon. I really don't see why some people want it to uubers.

Great battle with the level 1 abuse.

Sorry but the fact that a FEARgle was able to defeat a pokemon does not mean it shouldnt be moved to ubers. I could easily argue that Feargle can defeat a Kyogre, so why do people want kyogre in ubers?

Great battle with the level 1 abuse.
A great warstory. Nice level 1 abuse.

I just wanted to say that there are plenty of stuff capable of handling garchomp, feargle just happens to be one of them.
FEAR beats lots of ubers 1 vs 1 and can even switch in and counter them if trick room is up for it. Losing to FEAR is not an indiction of uber status.

I enjoyed the team and story.

Oddly, this is what I'm talking about right here.
