NUMBER OF POKEMON: 2v2
BATTLE TYPE: Singles
RECOVERIES: Two Recovers per Pokemon | Five Chills per Pokemon
SWITCH: Switch=KO
ITEMS: Items OFF
ABILITIES: All Abilities

The ASB Tournament Arena

Surrounded by thousands of screaming Pokemon fans, the ASB Arena can be best described as a standard Pokemon battling arena. In the center of the arena lies a dirt-based floor outlined to show two separate sides (with a white Pokeball center). Surrounding the dirt is a moat filled with water. The moat is about fifteen feet wide and creates a perimeter around the dirt arena. The arena itself is eighty feet wide, one hundred feet long. All moves, weathers, and abilities are legal for the match, since it's an outdoor arena with a large water source and packed dirt. Pokemon must stay in the arena (or the dimensions of the arena in the case of Flying Pokemon, who cannot leave the arena and cannot fly higher than sixty feet). This prevents Pokemon from injuring the crowd watching the tournament. There are no outside interruptions by fans, Pokemon, or other elements not associated with the current battle.

COMBATANTS:
SMASHLLOYD20:

Bronzong [Rolf] (Male)
Nature: Sassy (+1 * Special Defense, -15% Speed and flat -5% accuracy)

Type:
Psychic: Psychic STAB; less susceptible to blinding, more susceptible to sound-based assaults as far as locking on with Psychic attacks, can lift and throw opponents with Psychic attacks regardless of weight difference, Disable, Focus Blast and Recover have Energy Cost reduced by one (1). Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
Steel: Steel STAB; Immune to Sandstorm, highly insusceptible to toxic attacks, can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Bomb, can be magnetized.

Abilities:
Levitate: (Innate) This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading Ground moves like Earthquake, Level Ground, and Magnitude. Other Ground moves can still hit.
Heatproof: (Innate) This Pokemon's mirror-like alloyed skin protects it from Fire-type attacks, reducing the type effectiveness of Fire-typed attacks to the next level of resistance (2x weak becomes neutral, neutral becomes resistance, etc.) The damage inflicted by burns is also cut in half.
Heavy Metal (DW): (Innate) The Pokemon's body structure is immensely dense, doubling its weight. When it uses a full-body attack or a weight-based attack it will do more damage, and it will be much harder to lift, throw, or knock back.

Resultingly it feels it can weather every strike, and will not dodge an attack even if ordered to. Only when a OHKO move is issued by the opponent does sense return, and the Pokemon acts normally.
Steadfast: (Innate) If this Pokemon is flinched, it becomes aware of the speed difference and increases speed by one (1) stage to make up the difference.

Nature: Modest (Special Attack increased by *; Attack decreased by *)

Type: Normal
Normal: Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.

Abilities:
Trace: (Can be activated) This Pokemon can copy an ability of the opponent and replace Trace for six (6) actions. Wonder Guard cannot be Traced.
Download: (Innate) At the beginning of the match, the Pokemon analyzes the opponent and downloads data that lets it deal more damage. This Pokemon receives a one (1) stage increase on the offense that strikes an opponent’s weaker defense stat. (e.g. does more damage with special attacks when facing Aggron, which has higher defense, and attack when facing Hypno, which has higher special defense. For ties, Attack is raised.) This boost is maintained at the end of each round.

Note that everybody who did not send me a PM had their Pokemon randomized (not going to name names).
And it just had to pick my two unevolved Pokemon. Well, don't I feel dumb now.

But anyways, Porygon (Blaster), you're up.

Lets start off by paralyzing it with Thunder Wave. Then start attacking with Shadow Ball and Discharge. But if Bronzing tries to hit you with a status move of its own, reflect it with Magic Coat.

Aight, let's do this!

Start off with a Toxic so he won't use Thunder Wave and switch to Magic Coat. Then throw up a Trick Room. Finally, hit him with Extrasensory!

Round One!

Welcome to the grand Tournament arena (arena #17, that is to say), where one of our preliminary matches are being held! Our two combatants today have fought hard to reach this stage of the Tournament (posting "in" is so difficult), and they're eager to get started! On one side of the arena, we have smashlloyd20 with Rolf the Bronzong. On the other side, we have jas61292 with Blaster (pew pew) the Porygon. "Porygon's Download activated," shouts the referee. "Its Attack rose!" Let's get this match started!

Blaster starts this Tournament match off with a Thunder Wave, or at least what looks like a developing Thunder Wave. However, upon seeing Rolf prepare to shoot some deadly neurotoxins, Blaster stops the Thunder Wave production and immediately sets up a Magic Coat, which bounces the Toxic right back at Rolf. Luckily, Rolf is unaffected due to its metallic body!!!

Miffed at this failure of an action, Blaster goes on the offensive, creating and hurling a rather large ball of shadow material. This ball hits Rolf for some damage, but Rolf doesn't look phased by this attack at all as it uses the move Trick Room, which seems to twist the dimensions! What could Rolf be doing?

It seems that Trick Room has made slower Pokemon faster and faster Pokemon slower! How strange! Rolf goes first now, attacking with an extremely peculiar telekinetic force that almost slams Blaster to the ground. Though a bit disconcerted by this attack, Blaster bravely continues the assault with a Discharge, letting loose stored electricity. As Rolf takes the hit quite easily, members of the audience duck to avoid getting hit. Some aren't too lucky and get paralyzed -_- Weak humans.

End.

Hmmm...

Okay, start off with a Toxic, then use Extrasensory and Hypnosis in a combo to focus on him with your mental powers and make sure the Hypnosis hits! Also, since you're in a Trick Room and you'll be able to see his attacks coming more easily, if he tries to use Magic Coat again when you're using your combo pump up the level of psychic power in it to turn it into a full-on Extrasensory!

ATTENTION. Evidently, jas61292's actions broke the substitution rule; you may only substitute an action in for one specific move in that scenario. Because of this, I am re-reffing the first round.

jas61292 will post legal actions.
smashlloyd20 will respond.
I will ref Round One.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yeah, sorry about that. I didn't realize how that worked at the time. It won't happen again.

Lets just make it Thunder Wave, Shadow Ball, Discharge. With Magic Coat on any Hypnosis.

Ugh.

Okay, here's what you're going to do.

Start off with a Hypnosis, but use Extrasensory to weaken the power of the hypnotizing energy thingys so that they're extremely weak and inaccurate. Then throw up a Trick Room!

Hypnosis + Extrasensory (majorly weaken Hypnosis)~Trick Room

Round One!

Blaster starts to send a Thunder Wave towards Rolf but, just like the invalid reffing, quickly changes its action to a Magic Coat as a Hypnosis comes flying towards Blaster. The attack bounces back from the Porygon towards Rolf, but Rolf uses Extrasensory so render the hypnotic waves useless. Nice save, Rolf! As Rolf recovers from that save, Blaster takes the opportunity to blast a Shadow Ball at Rolf, dealing some damage. As Blaster sends out a blast of electricity, dealing some more damage to Rolf, Rolf twists the dimensions, making slower Pokemon faster and faster Pokemon slower!

sorry for the short update; I'm trying to get this match back on track.

Since your reactions are far better than his in Trick Room, if you see that he's preparing a Magic Coat to bounce back your Hypnosis quickly change the psychic signals to all-out attacking with Extrasensory then Flash Cannon.

So if I try to stop Blaster from falling asleep, the sleeping attack never comes and I just waste a turn. I know that is a perfectly legal move, but something about it just seems unfair. Oh well. I've seen worse.

Anyways, I hate Toxic, so lets waste a turn stopping it with Magic Coat. Then lets test our luck, and throw off a Thunder Wave and then a Shadow Ball. But if you do fall asleep, AND are hit by Dream Eater, but wake up in time to make a last action, use Conversion 2 and pray to the random number god that we get steel.

If Dream Eater hits and Blaster wakes up:

Round Two!

Rolf starts this round off for us by hurling some deadly neurotoxins towards Blaster, but it throws up a protective coat that bounces them back towards Rolf. Just like the first time, the toxins bounce back onto Rolf's metallic hide, rendering the attack completely ineffective. In an attempt to get a status on the evasive Blaster, Rolf gets up close, releasing hypnotic energy from its (small) eyes towards Blaster. Unfortunately, Blaster somehow manages to evade it and sends back a small spark of electricity, paralyzing Rolf! Rolf attempts to make another move, but the paralysis stops it from successfully making the move. Blaster follows it up with a Shadow Ball, dealing some small damage.

Well, this is going better than I thought. I still doubt we can win, but at least its not looking so bad right now. But we are using up energy way too fast, so let's Chill to get some back. Then shoot off another Shadow Ball and a Discharge. But if a you are ever hit by Extrasensory, replace your next action with Conversion 2, pushing other actions back as necessary. (Basically, make sure you chill)

Chill - Shadow Ball - Discharge
Insert Conversion 2 once if hit by Extrasensory, pushing other actions back

Rolf starts our round off (still in this weird dimensional warp room thing) by attempting to release sleepy energy into Blaster's eyes. Blaster manages to zoom away before it gets affected and just chills out in the corner of the arena, restoring some health. Members of the crowd are simply booing at Rolf; honestly, why can't this bell thing hit with Hypnosis? Rolf feels motivated and tries again, but the attack misses for the third time in a row o.O Blaster retaliates with a Shadow Ball, dealing some damage. Rolf tries a fourth time to use Hypnosis, and it actually succeeds!!! *crowd cheers* Blaster just snoozes away now.

Round Five: The Tides Turn.

While most people are quickly going up to the betting station and changing their bets, the battle in the arena has just heated up. Rolf releases more hypnotic energy from its eyes, putting the rather energetic Blaster to sleep. While Blaster sleeps, Rolf decides to chill out in the arena, receiving many laughs from the crowd; who wouldn't pay to see a huge metal bell relaxing? Blaster continues to sleep as Rolf enters its dreams again, eating them up and restoring some health. Really, this attack is quite devious... Huh? What's that? It seems that the dimensions have returned to normal! The crowd is suddenly overcome with nausea, and the arena starts smelling quite nasty after about thirty seconds.

Round Six!

Welcome back to arena number 17, where the battle has just gotten more even. Let's see what happens this round...

Since the dimensions came back to normal, Blaster now has the advantage of going first! He shoots a blob of shadowy material at Rolf, dealing some minor damage. What's that? It seems that the attack catches Rolf off-guard, resulting in a drop of Special Defense! How interesting! Rolf quickly recovers, setting up another Trick Room, which flips the dimensions again! *groan*

Rolf chills out in the arena as Blaster quickly converts back into the Steel-type; I suppose Blaster can't let his guard down!

Rolf attempts to release more hypnotic energy now; before Blaster has the chance to dodge, a rather large scroll falls down onto the arena. Unfurling by itself, it reveals a message... what could it possibly say?
