WHERE ARE MAH HANDS? I JUST GOT TEH LEAVES!
[Overview]

Shiftry is one of the best mixed wallbreakers in the game with the move and the ability that makes key stats skyrocket into astronomical levels; Growth and Chlorophyll, because after one Growth in the sun, Shiftry has 516 attack,514 sp.attk and 568 speed with the EV investment I give him, he OHKOs Kyogre (though the only reason Shiftry should be up against Kyogre is if he was a lead and he leaded when Groudon was on the field, and it is sunny) and 2HKOs Latias. Every Pokemon has its flaws, and Shiftry definently doesnt come with one or two. First, he is very, very prone to Mach Punch and pretty much all Priority, so Sucker Punch is viable. It also has horrible defensive typing, giving him a weakness to Fire, Fighting, Ice, the list goes on and on. Though he has his flaws, Shiftry is a force to be reckoned with in any tier.

[Set]
name: Mixed Growth Sweeper
move 1: Growth
move 2: Seed Bomb/ Leaf Storm/ Energy Ball
move 3: Dark Pulse/ Sucker Punch
move 4: Brick Break/ Focus Blast
item: Life Orb
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Hasty/Naive
evs: 252 Spe/ 88 Atk/ 164 SpAtk
[Set Comments]

Shiftry got an amazing nieche in 5th Gen, the ability to boost both SpAtk and Atk in one move in the sun with Growth. Like I said, Shiftry has an amazing movepool but these moves give all the type coverage you need. I have chosen these moves because I wanted you to have the choice to go special/ physical on every type, but never go all physical or all special attacker. In the Physical moveslot, you have Seed Bomb, Sucker Punch, Quick Attack, and Brick Break. Seed Bomb is great against hitting Kyogre OHKOing him, Sucker Punch is for priority against other Pokemon that decide to use priority, and Brick Break is to hit Arceus Steel, and sometimes is a better choice to hit Tyranitar. In the Special slot, there is Leaf Storm, Energy Ball, Dark Pulse, and Focus Blast. Energy Ball is the Special choice for the Grass type slot but Leaf Storm is somewhat viable, but I think Shiftry is someone that is going to be sweeping, not just making one Pokemon faint. Dark Pulse is good for flinch, sometimes, and it is good if your team can handle users of Priority. Focus Blast is very unreliable but has great base power and can OHKO Tyranitar if he is not in Sandstorm, but that is a rare accasion. Life Orb is for the extra power boost, and the Nature choice depends on what you think is best. The EV investment is to make Attack and Sp.Attk as balanced as possible and I tried to make Shiftry as speedy as possible.

[Additional Comments]

Quick Attack is usable if you think Pokemon may be using priority but may not.

[Team Options]

GROUDON!!! Groudon gives infinite sun, Stealth Rocks, and checks most counters to Shiftry. I suggest using Shiftry in a Triple Weather Uber team, because there are not many Ubers that use sun well, and if anything they all suck at it.

[Other Options]

Ankle Sweep can be used against an opposing Shiftry, but thats about it. Explosion can be a quick escape move, and Shiftrys great speed makes him a great user of it, but it is a total waste of a moveslot.

[Counters]

Anyone with Mach Punch, Pretty much any weather inducer, and Choice Scarf users like Garchomp. Mach Punch is Super Effective and gets priority. The preffered weather inducer here is Abomasnow, only scared of Brick Break or Focus Blast. Choice Scarf users need good speed, and they cant be Pokemon that use Choice Scarf to make up for there horrible Spe.
