Mirror matches are the commonplace, but in the end who reached the finals were the players who had the better team and that used it better. It's known that the Spanish guys love to use standard stuff, but the also have considerable talent and attention to gameplay...i think that all the guys who ranked Top4 deserved this result...i watched the battles and all of them played well. How is possible, of 600+ choices only an handful 10/15 are used in the metagame?! Mirror matches were the commonplace, and when you have nearly the same skill and use the same pokemon, only luck determines the "best" players to get a full paid trip to Hawaii. So why shouldn't we do a lottery? I pick a card, you pick a card, if you get the correct one you win ;)
If half of the players were foreigner, half of the Top4 should have been foreigner. That has not happened, then it means that the average level of Italian is lower than that of other European players. We don't travel across Europe to attend other events, and many people from south Italy didn't attend because Milan was too far...the real problem is that except for a few talented players, the rest of Italians don't give the right importance to the VGC, and unfortunately this is the consequence. This is what happens when nearly half of the players were foreigner. Bad players wouldn't do an european tour and the italian competitors at Milan weren't all top players. That wasn't a national italian tournament, that was an "european championship", we had a numeric disadvantage. Plus our top players got haxed to death barely before top 4, you shouldn't be disappointed.
As for the hax I don't want to point the finger at anyone, or analyze individual episodes, but it's impossible that all Italians were eliminated for hax...impossible.
