I'm confused. Alakazite is banned in UU while Alakazam is legal in UU. Why do you think Charizard would be treated any differently? And how is Gengarite treated differently? There are other mega stones banned in OU.
Alakazam doesn't have enough usage to be OU, and thus, it is allowed in UU. Charizard, on the other hand, does have enough usage to be OU. On Gengar, the tierig between Ubers and OU works differently than all the other tiers. Like Lucario, Gengar is allowed in OU, because their base form isn't banworthy themselves.

I hadn't appreciated that alakazite is banned in UU -- that just makes things even more inconsistent! I was thinking, for example, about Mawile, which is banned across all tiers below ubers even though it would make more sense for mawilite to be banned by itself. And I don't see what is so ban-to-uber worthy about mon-mega Blaziken. It's fragile as fuck and prone to priority.

I don't get what's so hard to understand here... If a Pokemon has the required usage to be put in a tier then it will be, mega stone or not. The only reason Mawile is OU is because tiering is decided every 3 months, and 3 months ago is was OU by usage.

(also regular blaziken is completely broken lmao)

So with the Soul Dew back, will that eventually be implemented into ORAS OU or is it still banned?
It'll be implemented into Showdown, but we don't know yet if it'll be banned or not, given this is the first time it's entered the Gen 6 Metagame. A lot of people are calling for a Suspect Test, however.

That's what I thought but thank you for confirming it.

Yeah, I redid the team and i am trying to get past rotom-w and ferrothorn.
Chesnught beats Ferrothorn every time, and also beats Rotom even if Rotom burns it.

0 Atk Chesnaught Wood Hammer vs. 252 HP / 212+ Def Rotom-W: 194-230 (63.8 - 75.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
0 Atk burned Chesnaught Wood Hammer vs. 252 HP / 212+ Def Rotom-W: 97-115 (31.9 - 37.8%) -- 93.3% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

0 Atk Chesnaught Drain Punch vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Ferrothorn: 116-138 (32.9 - 39.2%) -- 65.4% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

if ches is weakened or taken out, then rotom-w basically is unstoppable.

So, I have a Naive Froakie ingame with a spread of 31/31/31/18-19/31/31. If I'm looking to make a mixed set with the only special move as Ice Beam, does the 18-19 SpA make Ice Beam lose any particularly important KOs?

Can't exactly calc right now so a general idea would be helpful.

Thinking of making a Mega Lopunny team, but I've been out of the competitive scene for a while so I'm not sure what is has trouble getting around. I'm assuming really tanky things like Skarmory and (Mega)Slowbro, but if you guys could narrow it down a bit more, I'd appreciate it!

On the top of my head:
-Birds talonflame in particular
-Mega Salamence can set up a DD on you (especially on mega turn with intimidate) and threaten a sweep
-Scarf Latios, Terrakion, Keldeo
-Stallbreaker mew
-Mach punchers (breloom and conkeldurr)
-This cannot be circumvented but random protect on high jump kick is painful

A lot of things check it meaning that you'll mostly want it to come in cleanly (after a KO or slow volt/turn).
