My thoughts as written immediately after D5 flips:
-Joey being scum is HUUUUUUUGE, this is a really great revelation. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if a jailkeeper is a sort of doctor + roleblocker hybrid like mafiascum says, would that have allowed Joey to suppress Clouds' BPV on N2 while someone else carried the kill? That would confirm no strongman in this game, and offer a more concrete explanation as to why Laurel gave the BPV in the first place. Makes the mech situation a lot more clear imo
-The Shane lynch really sucks, and it makes me think three things immediately:
1. This makes Tommy townier. If Shane was planning to watch Tommy again tonight then it makes it more likely that lynching him is to make Tommy an easier NK target. Of course with Tommy unclaimed it could still be him as the dayvig (which is why he should claim to clear this up!), but I'm more willing to accept the idea that someone else is just safeclaiming/partial claiming since scum all have multiple roles apiece.
2. This is NAI for bluedoom rather than making him more towny. He was planning to put Shane in Da Hood(tm) with Tommy but iirc he was planning to idle tonight before Tommy brought the whole thing up, so I don't think he's that annoyed by the situation.
3. This makes Celever suspicious as hell. If Cel is supposed to be protecting Shane at night, and Joey's flip reveals that there's not actually a strongman, then the only way to remove the doc-watched watcher, this
really powerful town role, is if the doc did it himself. Of course if two people were alive then Joey could simply use jailkeeper on Celever while someone else carried the kill, but the fact that this hasn't happened and that mafia instead went for a waaaaay safer/lower value target in JALMONT on N4 lends some credence to the Celever theory.
-EoD wagonomics rundown:
joey wagon
a fairy: Looks better to me, two solid EoDs in a row make me think she's almost full town atp. Hopped on the Joey wagon early which lines up with her previous reads and voting patterns more or less. She felt a bit sheepy on my wagon beforehand but you could say that for several people, I'm not too bothered by it given the gamestate.
bluedoom: Still town, his thought process remained pretty clear despite the chaotic situation. Seemed willing to vote me before my Completely Planned Schizo Meltdown™ happened but had a fairly natural response to that once it happened. Sucks that he's not neighborizing anyone tho
Duskfall98: Not all sunshine and rainbows. His joey vote felt more like an acceptance that I wasn't as good of a lynch case as he hoped, rather than a real conviction in joey's potential guilt. I could be reading too far into it, especially since Shane's death helps his town case, but I'll still be side-eyeing him until he claims. Definitely the most suspicious guy on the joey wagon imo.
StupidFlandrs48: i am town
Shane the Shroomish: he was town
My wagon
HydrogenHydreigon: NAI. He never hopped on the scum wagon but he was also asleep before I even woke up and had the Perfectly Planned Schizo Meltdown™ that ultimately birthed the Joey wagon, so we can't hold that against him. Still willing to vote him D6 for mech reasons like everyone else, EoD doesn't really change much
ImaginaryNeon: Looks worse now. Like, a lot worse. His first reason for voting me yesterday was based on a wallpost I made on D1, which is weird to me bc his catchup has reached D3 or even D4 iirc, so I find it unusual that he'd go back after that and quote a readlist that was obviously outdated if he saw any of my content on D2 or D3. After that he wasn't willing to hammer me (understandable) but then he committed to voting me for seemingly the same reason after people started moving to the scum wagon? And he only did it after Celever pressured him? That really doesn't add up, it strikes me as him looking for a paper-thin excuse to disrupt things and frame me. I could definitely see scum!neon doing that, and I think we have to put him in PoE now. Really bad D5 from him.
HyHy wagon
Celever: Looks worse for several reasons. Firstly, Shane flipping town is bad for him bc now we have no way of knowing who he's using doc on N5, which is annoying. But besides that he continued to stubbornly stay on the HyHy wagon even after it was obviously doomed, and he was questioning the judgment of people who moved from me to Joey? That strikes me as really weird, and his interactions with Tommy/Marth/Shane don't feel purely motivated. Also goading Neon into a vote at the same time was weird, atp I'd think they're aligned if we hadn't caught three scum already. Another issue is the Shane flip, which I already mentioned above. There's also the lingering possibility that Cel jumped from the AF to the Laurel wagon on EoD4 for easy towncred. I feel like we might be coming down to a 1v1 between Cel/Neon or Cel/Tommy atp, either way I think he's the best alternative wagon if some crazy development makes us decide we don't want to stick with HyHy.
