.
This is a new team that I have been testing out to be successful against the current metagame. It has been successful for the most part, but I think it can do much better, which is why I'm posting it here. This would be my first RMT I've posted, but I am experienced with this sort of thing. That being said, any and all suggestions are welcome!
Gengar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- HP Fighting
- Hypnosis
My lead. Scarf Gar has the ability to suprise many things (like Weavile) with a fast sleep or a HP Fighting to the face. It helps add some speed to this team and it functions as my revenge killer for later on in the game. A very useful member of my team needless to say. I orginally had Focus Blast instead of HP Fighting, but I dropped it. Weavile is a common lead, so HP Fighting will take care of him with more relibility than Focus Blast. Tar isn't a good lead for the most part and he would be a main reason for Focus Blast. I don't plan on keeping Gengar in on Blissey.
Gliscor (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 252 HP/202 Def/56 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Taunt
- Baton Pass
- Earthquake
The Pokemon my team is based around. Gliscor gets alot of free switch ins, and when he does, I start Swords Dancing. Skarmory is usually an impulse switch into SD Gliscor, and he won't like getting Taunted. When I'm all good and set, I make my pass to one of two team members to make my attempted sweep. Earthquake is there to stop SD Lucario and Tyranitar, both whom I don't like. It has enough speed to beat Adamant Breloom so I can Taunt it.
Metagross @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 150 HP/252 Atk/108 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Rock Polish
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- Thunderpunch
Pass target number one. Metagross takes care of Gliscor's Ice weakness, and loves being passed Swords Dances. It's like a match made in heaven. Obviously the idea of this target is to Rock Polish, then attempt a sweep. With two Swords Dances under its belt, Metagross will 1HKO Skarmory! Shuca Berry is for those Garchomps and Gliscors that try and switch in on my Thunderpunch or ScarfChomp in general. I feel its vital on this set to stop a potential threat from knockng down my plan, and it is one of the ways I can stop Garchomp's terror. 108 Speed is to outrun all of the things trying to outrun Choice Scarf Heracross, while still being bulky enough to take a hit.
Mamoswine (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 22 HP/252 Atk/236 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Ice Shard
- Stone Edge
My second BP target. I bring in Mamoswine out against faster sweepers that I can barely pass away from Gliscor. Also, Metagross often moves in against some threats but Mamoswine is ususally free of sratches. No setup required with this puppy. Set him down, and sweep. With its amazing STAB type coverage, few will get away from him. 236 Speed EVs with a Jolly Nature puts me ahead of Adamant/ Modest Lucario.
Machamp (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 HP/250 Atk/8 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Ice Punch
- Dynamicpunch
- Sleep Talk
- Rest
My sleep-talker and main Blissey switch in. Ice Punch over Stone Edge for Gliscor and Hippo mostly, and also so Garchomp can't pray on the getting in on a Rest-Talked Stone Edge. If need be, Machamp can also get some S(T)Ds from Gliscor.
Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/216 Spd/42 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Recover
My main switch in to Gyarados, Infernape and SD Garchomp without Sub. I find I don't often use Rapid Spin on Starmie too often, and since none of my Pokes are weak to SR, and many don't care about Toxic Spikes, so I simply took it off. I made the EVs a little more bulky to stand up to Garchomp with more success.
