If Arbok has a better Sp. Defense base stat than Defense, why on the Smogon Analysis for the Double Status is it Impish? For Earthquake, I presume.

Arbok's amazing 60/69/79 defenses are getting him nowhere. You go impish to take advantage of the fact that it also has intimidate so maybe can tank a hit on the physical side.

Something really, really weird just happened.

I've been chaining Bunearies, and they use Endure (very annoying). I'm using my Lucario to kill them off, since it's Lv. 89 and it has all attacking moves with lots of PP.

Them little rascals use Endure, and then I use Aura Sphere, and they survive at 1 HP.

But this is what's strange:

One just used Endure, and I used Aura Sphere, like above. But it's HP stops in the middle. The the yellow part. And says it endured the hit.

I attack again, and it uses Endure again, and it goes down to 1 HP. And then I finish it off since it didn't use Endure again.

But why did that stop in the middle of it's HP and not take it all the way down to 1 HP? Is it some sort of side effect to Endure that it might survive with half HP? That was crazy cuz it hasn't happened before and hasn't happened yet again, either..

ok so im breeding pokemon that gave Ash trouble in season 1 of the animated series. So so far i have bred spearow/fearow (since they attack ash in episode 1), pikachu (becuase what poke has given ash more trouble then his own pikachu?), and im working on weedle/beedril atm since they always seem to attack ash. The question i have is what other random pokemon gave ash trouble in his journey to indigo plateau?

ps : the next project is abra/alakazam since an abra/kadabra kicked pikachu's but at sabrina's gym xD

Team Rocket? There were a couple of times when they actually managed stuff, like when they got Lickitung. It beat Bulbasaur, Vulpix and Pikachu (!) before getting owned by Psyduck.

Back then it was just Arbok, Weezing, Lickitung (only used in the episode they got it, saw more use in the Orange Islands), Victreebel (never used in Kanto, only seen once) and Meowth (lol).

Seconding Jigglypuff, tht little critter really annoyed them. Where IS it now, anyway?

Yes, I watch the anime. Please don't hurt me lol.

lol thanks for all the input on ash pokes. team rocket was an idea i had. (OG Team R mind you.) but there is a really good arbok (IkenTina) and weezing (mariowithlazers) already so i thought against it. lol anyway thanks for all the help and any more suggestion are greatly appreciated! :D

edit : i love the jigglypuff idea by the way lol. maybe a support set for the NU environment ^^

I'd like something cleared up concerning Beat Up:

All Pokémon on the user's team that are not fainted and do not have a status condition do a 10 power typeless attack on the target. Beat Up uses base Attack and base Defense for these calculations; EVs, IVs, and Natures are irrelevant. Beat Up hits through Wonder Guard, even if the Pokémon isn't weak to Dark. If the user targets its ally in 2v2, this results in the ally beating itself up if it doesn't have a status condition.

It is classified as a Dark-type attack, yet the attacks themselves are typeless. Do they ignore weaknesses? Resistances? Immunities?
