Is there a reason why some hidden items are in different shapes (little square, circle, and big circle) when located on the Dowsing Machine? Rarity of the item perhaps?

Sooo, I didn't know where to post this..

Anyhow, i'm breeding a Wailmer/Wailord in the advance versions so I can get a Selfdestruct Whale (*evil laugh*). What i wonder is, which version would you people want, CB, CS or Curse. Since I can only use it once, I'd like to do it with care :)

A good Idea may be to get your Wailmer, pal park it and then trade it to a reliable cloner to get a few so you can do whatever with them ;)

Edit: Wait isnt Self Destruct an XD only move

Yeah, it is an XD tutor move. Since all Wailord's versions have different nature, i wonder which nature i should go for, which nature (version) smogon wants :o)

ahk sorry I never actually had XD so if I ever need those moves I just find a trade wherever still good to know I'm not quite sure as too a good nature sorry but gl

Would it be viable if I ran Chancy as a special wall in OU instead of Blissy? What would be the implications (what pokemon would one have to watch out for moreso then if I had blissy)? I should probably note that I'm not a regular blissy user, its just that Blissys and Chancys stats arn't THAT much different (bar special attack, I don't really see much use with my blissy using that stat though).

I suppose Chancey should basically looks out for Physical attacks deffinetly fighting like Blissey... uhh the only reason I would suggest using chancey is it looks kinda cooler.... soo yeah

To be honest, yeah, its moreso for the lulz. Also because I remember the old days of using Chansey in RBY, I feel as though I should show the little egg carrier some love.

yeah, as I said basically just use it as you would blissey or do somthing really radical you could Choice Specs your Chansey and see what happens... that would be interesting to see

There's always Plan B: multiple playthroughs. Gets you extra chances at Shadow Pokemon, and extra uses of XD tutor moves.

Does the power of Pluck double if the opponent is holding a berry? (Serebii says it does, Smogon makes no mention of it.)

No, it doesn't double the power. Serebii is, unfortunately, chock-full of errors like this that haven't been changed over the last year.

Question on Punishment. BP = 60 + 20 * # of power-ups (200 maximum)

Hypothetical Situation 1: Salamence has used two Dragon Dances against Mawile while Mawile burned Salamence with Fire Fang. If Mawile uses Punishment, how many power-ups are counted? 4? 3?

Hypothetical Situation 2: Salamence v. Blissey. Salamence opens with Dragon Dance, Blissey uses Charm. Salamence uses another Dragon Dance, Blissey switches out for Absol. If Absol uses Punishment, how many power-ups are counted? 4? 2?

The burn doesn't matter, so 4 power-ups for the first one, giving Punishment 140 power. For the second situation, only 2 power-ups are counted, since Salamence has no Attack levels and 2 Speed levels. So, only 100 power for that one. I'm going off memory here, though. I haven't tested this recently.

This may come off as a stupid question, but is having 4 egg moves possible? Or is 3 the limit? Varying on what they are I know it may be limited but in general, is 4 possible?

Ok this one was bugging me, I'm sure it was covered somewhere else but...

When one uses a stat up move (dragon dance, Agiliity, Swords, ect) the stat goes up 1.5x , 2x, 3x, 4....up to 6x...

I was looking over marrowak and saw that with thick club his attk is 568, now, I know in some gens, the max stat is 999, is that still true so it can only benefit from one swords dance?

There is no max attack stat

6 boosts == 400%
5 boosts == 350%
4 boosts == 300%
3 boosts == 250%
2 boosts == 200%
1 boosts == 150%
0 boosts == 100%
-1 boosts == 66% (2/3)
-2 boosts == 50% (2/4)
-3 boosts == 40% (2/5)
-4 boosts == 33% (2/6)
-5 boosts == 29% (2/7)
-6 boosts == 25% (2/8)

I have a question now, is there any online speed calculator (ie, you input an opponents nature, Ev, and Base Speed, and Your Base Speed and nature and it tell you how many evs you need to out speed it (and includes choice scarf as an option))?

It's called "Find the stat formula and use your head". "Guess and check" works well too.

Figured as much once I remembered that Bug Bite does the exact same thing! ><

Makes sense to me.
So that means Punishment only ignores stats in a negative stage? Do Accuracy, Evasion and Critical Hit boosts count as well?
