I will present you my current team, which has me ranked #15 now. My nickname is Cactus there. I think that it's the best team that I have never used, but I built it with Bologo's help, so I thank him for his help.
I will post it now, and I will try to explain it:
Roserade (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Sleep Powder
- Toxic Spikes
My starter. I didn't use it as lead, but now it helped me a lot as lead. It's the same as Aldaron's one, so I apologize for the clon, but it's amazing. With Sleep Powder I try to put his lead to sleep, so I can law down some Spikes. Grass Knot is for obvious STAB, and HP Fire helps with those Steel types. It hits enough speed to outspeed most leads, and with Focus Sash, it has a second chance to lay spikes down.
Azelf @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 88 Atk/170 Spd/252 SAtk
Mild nature (+SAtk, -Def)
- Psychic
- Flamethrower
- Thunderbolt
- U-turn
One of my Hit-n-Run poke. Psychic is for STAB, and it has enough strengh with 383 special attack. Flamethrower helps with Steels like Bronzong or maybe Skarmory, that could block the other attacks. Grass Knot helps with Swampert and Rhyperior (I didn't see one yet...). U-Turn helps to scout counters, and to put a big dent in Weaviles and Tyranitars incoming.
Heatran (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Explosion/Dragon Pulse/Dark Pulse
This think works wonders. But I always use Fire Blast and Earth Power, so I don't really know what attacks should I put in the thirth and fourth slot. I would like to listen to your suggestions. Anyway, it absorbs Fire Attacks to Roserade, and with Fire Blast 120 BP + 130 Special Attack + Modest + 252 EVs + Flash Fire + Choice Specs + Stab...
Snorlax (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 168 HP/120 Def/220 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Body Slam
- Crunch
- Rest
- Curse
My Special Wall. It's amazing. If the opponent doesn't have a Roarer or a Hazer... Curselax will kill him!. I choose Body Slam and Crunch because it can, at least, hit. With Earthquake I will have problems with some good Special Attackers as Gengar or Mismagius. Anyway, it works wonders, and sometimes, it absorbs sleeping moves.
Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP/216 Def/52 SAtk
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
Swampy is my physical wall. Earthquake and Ice Beam cover a lot of problems there, as Heatran and Salamence/Dragonite/Garchomp. It lays down SR, and with Toxic Spikes, it helps in the sweeping. I use it as Pseudohazer too, with Roar.
Dragonite (M) @ Yache Berry
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 56 HP/252 Atk/200 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch
- Dragon Dance
In my opinion, Dragonite is the star of the team. When opponent's team is weakened enough, Dragonite shines. A Dragon Dance, and the opponent will try to shoot you with a Ice attack, but suddenly, Yache Berry and... boom!. It's great, and I don't know why people don't use it.
Threat list:
Tyranitar: Swampert walls it quite well. Roserade can put it to sleep if it's a lead.
Gyarados: Swampert again. Roserade helps a lot too. Grass Knot Roserade can 2HKO's it, if SR is in the field.
Infernape: Azelf shouldn't have problem. Dragonite could stand Mixed sets without HP ice. Swampert stops physical sets. Snorlax stops special sets.
Azelf: Snorlax and Heatran.
Rhyperior: Roserade, Swampert, Azelf.
Electivire: Swampert walls it.
Heracross: The best counter is skill. Swampert-Dragonite could do it.
Salamence: I have some problems with it, so I try to put it to sleep. Swampert walls physical sets, and Snorlax specials, but mixed...
Togekiss: I HATE THIS THING. But Snorlax could do it, if it's a bit lucky...
Gengar: Snorlax.
Garchomp: Swampert.
Raikou: Snorlax and Swampert if it carries HP ice.
Lucario: One of my fears. Swampert OHKO's it, but Close Combat and Swords Dance hurts...
Starmie: Snorlax
Weavile: Swampert
Dugtrio: Swampert
Alakazam: Snorlax
PorygonZ: Snorlax
Medicham: Swampert and skill.
Staraptor: Swampert
Machamp: other problem... maybe Roserade and Sleep Powder, or Azelf with Psychic, I don't really like this nast Dinamicpunch.
Aerodactyl: Swampert
Snorlax: Swampert roar Curselax, and my Snorlax walls a Sleep Talk one.
Zapdos: Snorlax, and maybe Swampert.
Blissey: I love when people send Blissey to Roserade. Then Sleep Powder, and I can law down some Spikes.
Suicune: Swampert roar it.
Breloom: After Sleep Clause, Dragonite and Azelf.
Metagross: Swampert, but mixed Metagross hurts a lot.
Heatran: Snorlax, and sometimes my own Heatran.
Celebi: Heatran and Snorlax
Jirachi: Heatran should do it.
Yanmega: My worst problem. I need help with Yanmega with Bug buzz, Air Slash, and HP ground. Only Snorlax can wall it.
Mamoswine: If it's choiced, I can predict an Earthquake, so Azelf and Dragonite can hurt it or set up.
I wait that you could help me with this, because I think that it's a good team which can work better with some improvements.
