Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Nice list, even if I'll admit that this feels very Backloggd-core lol...Dodonpachi recognition is cool to see though. I also really need to get around to playing Nier and Rez (and The Last Express but I think I'm too stupid for that game)
I posted a topster before but I may as well update it. Ordered as best as I could. I haven't actually finished the bottom 5 games, but I'm including them as honorable mentions since I know they'll rank high once I do.

just finished the first Ni No Kuni (loved it and hated it had to end)
Now playing Sand Land cus I been waiting for it since Akira passed (RIP to the OG) then after i plan to play the second Ni No Kuni, [finish] Sea of Stars, and Eiyuden Chronicle
I got backlogs going back to even on my 3ds LOL and that's been "dead" for how long now???
I am really dissapointed by the SH2 remake trailer
Honestly I just wanted them to revamp the gameplay. They could've literally just remastered the cutscenes with the exact same audio. The story is at it's core, Blooper is unable to create a good story, SH2 has one of the most respected atmospheres and stories in gaming. They only needed to change the super dated gameplay. That's all. And they didn't. They bastardized the story. And the character designs look like shit. Again, you have some of the most iconic character designs in gaming, and they bastardized them
I think SH2 is genuinenly unplayable in this day and age. The original SH somehow aged better, being faster paced and having a simpler control scheme. But SH2 is too loaded and too complex for the clunky gameplay it has
Idk, I had no expectations and I am still dissapointed
i didn't realize the (well some) .hack// games were on switch till today when i was like "look at me being a good boy and saving some money lets purchase our next game up after i beat Sand Land" (i *LOVE* this game btw - my brother even bought me the book for it [since it came out like a week or 2 before my bday but wont come till July lol]) so i got those.
the Last Recode selection. I totally missed them as a youngin.
i use to stay up late all the time to watch .hack//SIGN and always loved the idea behind that anime (that was my introduction to that realm at least) so i'm glad i grabbed em.
Safe to say I got a backlog (esp off my last post too lmfao) i will play all. It's funny my best friend is so amped for the Elden Ring (we both fell in love at launch but find myself like "ill find my way there" now lol) DLC and I'm like "Switch backlog" first (after Sand Land, that takes precedence lol.) the DLC will be there lol.
I picked up the TTYD remake a week or so ago, and as someone who never got the chance to play the original and only experienced it through YouTube, it was about what I expected it to be
There are still some incredibly broken strategies and I do believe Superguarding needed some adjusting really, but it still is a fun time and the battle system has led to some great moments for me
For the new bosses, I haven't managed to get Whacka to spawn in yet (and thats the one thing left to do for 100% for me), but I got Prince Mush during Chapter 5 through a combination of Charge, Shell Shield, and Power Bounce after the one Superguard I managed. It definitely felt good even if the strategy feels a little cheap
i finally got a ps5 today (Still playing Sand Land through first on my xbox) but incredibly excited to play a lot of the PS exclusives after since i can't play two at once one will take over and ill forget the other lol.
probably gonna relearn Madden (use to play for money vs friends when younger but aint in years so need to relearn lol) in the meantime on the ps5 till i beat Sand Land then jump into all the PS games i've missed out on haha.
I downloaded Freedom Planet 2 for the Nintendo Switch the other day. It's a blast - it's like a Sonic game made by the creators of Gunstar Heroes. The story is better than the first game (not that that's hard), the gameplay is brilliant and the soundtrack is a blast. I actually prefer it to the more recent Sonic games.
An interesting video I saw from Gamexplain the other day, about gaming's obsession with photo realism.
I agree completely - I'm sick of just about every Xbox / Playstation game all looking basically the same. The last non Nintendo mainstream game that didn't go for a realistic art style that I can remember is Persona 5. That game got widespread critical acclaim and sold well, so clearly non Nintendo players will play games that aren't photo realistic.
Wow we finally get a new Zelda game with Zelda herself as the protagonist, Nintendo cooked with the Trirod and Echoes ! It's also seems to be set in the Hero of Legend Era (Adult Timeline, the same as the Oracle games, A Link to The Past/Between Worlds, and Link's Awakening), you know, the one where SMASH ULTIMATE ZELDA COMES FROM SHE IS GETTING SO MANY BUFFS NEXT GAME !
ACE ATTORNEY INVESTIGATIONS ON SWITCH, which means OFFICIAL TRANSLANTION FOR AAI:2, now titled Prosecutor's Gambit (the title is amazing), though that means I have to get used to bunch a new official names for these characters (at least Verity Gavèlle is an upgrade over Justine Courtney, can't say the same for Sebastian Debeste --> Eutstace Winner, RIP).
also I swear if they DON'T KEEP SIMON KEYES AS A NAME I WILL RIOT).
Great Nintendo direct yesterday. Happy to see Prime 4 hasn’t been forgotten, really looking forward to Echoes of Wisdom, nice that Zelda actually gets the spotlight for once, I think that’s the first time she’s been playable since Spirit Tracks (haven’t played Tears of the Kingdom). The new Mario Party looks interesting too, though I hope you can turn off the motion control games (Superstars lets you turn off certain games).
I’m disappointed that the Donkey Kong Country Returns remaster is going to be called Donkey Kong Country Returns HD instead of Donkey Kong Country Returns Returns
