specs bolt sun (pokepast.es)

Decided to build around Specs Bolt on Sun because its power becomes simply shocking with Proto + Specs, and it pairs really nicely with Mega Scizor here as an offensive VoltTurn core as well as both being late-game cleaners. HDB Tusk has great power in Sun and CB Gouging is CB Gouging, both very good physical wallbreakers. Scarf Kart is a final addition here, being able to clean up weakened teams with its checks like MSciz / Zapdos gone while picking off Ground-types that annoy Specs Bolt.

:sinistcha: :landorus-Therian: :Medicham-mega: :heatran: :Tapu Koko: :Hydreigon:
Hello guys I bring to you my team featuring literally the worst mon of all time (Sinistcha). Team looks interesting from a glance so here we go. The idea was to go for some kind of structure that supported the main breakers (Mmedi and hydreigon) using pivot support and stun spore from sinistcha. The only change I made to the sinis set was giving it more bulk investment to take on Urshifu, Ogerpon-W, and great tusk better.

:sinistcha: This is the team’s main water resist, being a check to Urshifu-R, SD Gliscor, Ogerpon-W, and even Ursaluna on some occasions. It does this somewhat okishly due to stun spore threatening a large majority of Pokémon that would want to come in on Sinistcha like Heatran and Mchary. It also does fine against a majority of rain sweepers like mswamp and Barra especially with stun spore threatening switchins those teams have like tornadus-T and Archaludon. Super boosted Hexes also deal considerable damage to Pokemon statused, like Gliscor and Galarian Slowking. Tera Poison keeps the fighting resist while also gaining a new one to fairy, allowing it to use stun spore against iron valiant in a pinch, and a toxic immunity which is useful in pivoting around Alomomola.

:landorus-Therian: Very self explanatory, main ground on the team and provides fog so Koko, heatran, and Mmedi can stay around longer. Team didn’t feel overly offensive, more of a BO type team, so I thought defog was fine on this structure. Taunt makes sure stuff like Ferro can’t leech you or even denies hazards from other stuff like opposing Landorus-T and Gliscor, which although defog removes said hazards those Pokémon can still threaten Lando with toxic. Rhelm is used so Mlop and Mmedi just doesn’t click a million times against this and makes them much easier to play around. Tera fairy is also an option to make Darkrai easier to play around

:Medicham-mega: Stun spore sinistcha has one huge flaw; it struggles immensely with Steel types like Heatran and especially Ferrothorn (with the latter being immune to stun spore). Mmedi solves this issue, and makes playing around those steels much easier along with having good synergy with sinistcha. Sinistcha paralyzes certain foes so Mmedi clicks easier, while Mmedi is the anti steel for this team so sinis doesn’t worry as much. Mmedi also improves how the team makes progress vs. fat / balance teams featuring Toxapex and the aforementioned Ferrothorn. Otherwise it’s pretty simple stuff.

:Tapu Koko: This is the team’s speed control and is also valuable for destroying the flying types sinistcha hates, like Tornadus-T and
Zapdos. Not only that, it’s the team’s main way of revenge killing Ogerpon-W and Darkrai as well, the latter of which Sinistcha hates. U turn also brings in the main progress makers, Mmedi and hydrei, in safely.

:heatran: We needed the obligatory steel and fire resist; Sinistcha can only do so much against fire types like Volcarona and MYard. It also brings the main fairy and psychic resists, useful for playing around Tapu lele and iron valiant easier (remember, because Sinistcha is ghost type, iron valiant is deterred from using focus blast lest they get punished by stun spore). Besides that it also clicks stealth rock and makes bolt and koko much easier to play around. Not much else that is special

:hydreigon: Now we get to the real heat. I wanted some way to exploit the landocrown offenses that had been popping up recently (and the ones sinistcha got overwhelmed by too quickly), so I wanted some dark type. I thought weavile was a no go since it was rocks weak and made Ferrothorn much more of a nuisance. Darkrai was an option, but I found Darkrai gets very few opportunities to come into a game based on its typing alone. Hydreigon fit what I wanted perfectly. It has u turn, a distinct trait from Darkrai, which makes playing around checks to hydreigon like spdef Heatran and Mega Tyranitar much easier to do and allows Mmedi to come in against them and force progress, which then makes sinistcha’s job easier to do. Not only that, Hydreigon also gives the team a way to threaten landocrown offenses (which is made easier with hydrei due to its ground immunity + volt switch resistance). Hydreigon also has useful typing in some scenarios where it can end up threatening raging bolt (with its tclap resist) or trade agaisnt something like Mega Charizard y.
That’s the team! Hope you enjoy!

GUESS WHOS BACK
back again

That's right TLW is back with a revised set of builders! Most of our original team, including
Dead by Daylight
Oculars
Ineros
about15gals
will all be returning, along with two new people...
boppydop!
Flames Of Elixir
YES that is boppydop. Welcome aboard! Once again if anyone is interested just drop me a PM and we might add you too.

Anyway, we only have one major change to announce: building deadline has been nerfed [7 days -> 10 days]. This will hopefully solve the issue of late team submissions by our team. Therefore, the new timeline will now look like this:

Nominations phase: 5 days
Voting phase: 3 days (extends until votes > no. of nominations)
Building phase: 10 days
Promotions phase: 3 days

Promotions is just a fancy way of me saying that I will spam the paste for the teams everywhere. It also means that TLW will always start on the same day of the week (SUNDAY! YAY!)

so, with that...
The Lunatics' Workshop, CYCLE 9, is Now OPEN!

Fire away! See you on Friday the 13th of September (hold on...)

Garchomp-Mega @ Garchompite
Ability: Rough Skin
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]

This one is a Smogon set with a writeup and everything so it probably doesn't count but on account of it having zero users I think a team that actually uses this would be interesting.

On paper the idea is here and probably effective since Garchomp almost always invites Pokémon like Landorus-T and Corviknight who get destroyed by special coverage. In practice, it is probably just a barely effective wallbreaker with a bad speed tier who takes horrible damage switching into Volcarona Flamethrower thanks to its defense-lowering nature and Gliscor will just switch out after taking 50% from Hidden Power Ice after Poison Heal. I would love to see what gets cooked however.

So happy to see this back! I love that i still know absolutely nothing of how this tier works, but I hope i can make more reasonable noms!!
I have no clue why this is never used or if it simply doesnt have enough consistency to even beconsidered

:sv/hatterene:
Anger (Hatterene) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Magic Bounce
Tera Type: Psychic
EVs: 204 HP / 252 SpA / 52 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Trick
- Psyshock
- Dazzling Gleam
- Healing Wish

As a loyal hire of Hyper Offense Inc., an attempt at making this pokémon a bit more suitable for my workplace (note: not built exclusively for HO, i just like HO). Intent is to explore something i feel is not used as much in hat, that monstruous 136 SpA which i have a gut feeling isn't that monstruous for natdex OU standards. leave me alone i'm a low tier player

52 Spe is kept to outspeed Toxapex, who you can now safely OHKO even without hazards, and investiment is intended on going full power but moves (and Tera as well my b) are fully customizable but to me seems like a sufficiently treacherous Choice-wielding mon with Trick while also carrying utility in HWish to be able to get a safe pivoting once the job is done, or if you think you'll just die outright. All this power coming from nowhere might be able to punish switches from passive hazard setters like the aforementioned Pex and maybe Ferro, who you can likely get through by either running Psychic over Shock, or flat-out running Mystical Fire somewhere.
