Smogon Simple Questions Thread

This may seem like a silly request/suggestion but I would really like a fantasy premier league room on showdown. Although you could say I could use the sport room, the sport room covers a much larger range of sports, so I don’t feel like it is always appropriate to bring up fantasy football, as people are often engaging in discussions on live games which I don’t want to interrupt. I also think this could be cool as an FPL room could offer a mini league for players to join and compete in.

Alternatively, you can ask the Sports leadership team for a subroom for Fantasy Premier League stuff?
 
Hello, I would like to ask for help regarding the fact that the calculator page has not been working for me for 6 days, I would like to know if someone can help me, it is a big disadvantage to play without it

I'd like to suggest unrated ladders for formats other than Random Battles. I'm not tryna hop on ladder with no warm up against someone who has been playing already. Random Battles already have an unrated format so I don't see why we can't do this for other metas.

Is there a way to quote only part of a post? In another video game site I'm able to just highlight the part of the message I want to quote and then hit "Quote," and only that highlighted part appears in a quote block. Is it possible to do something similar here?

Thank you, I was just hoping there was a way to do this without having to erase a large chunk of the message. I'm on a PC right now, so it's not that big of a problem, but most of the time I'm on mobile and it's harder to erase text there.

Thank you! and I see how that could be useful, but I have a difficult time moving the cursors that flank the highlighted text in order to change the size of what's highlighted. Maybe it's man hands using a small phone. Either way, I end up struggling, especially to scroll up or down while trying to increase the space highlighted; when I do this, it usually scrolls up or down at 10% of the speed of light or it doesn't scroll up or down at all.

I'm wondering if it would be possible for a user simply to highlight the text they want to quote and click "Reply" and then only that text appears in a quote box. That way if someone wanted to respond to multiple points a user made, it would be convenient to do that.

That is how the reply popup works. In fact, I used it to reply to only this part of your message.
 
Anything goes is the tier where anything goes, so shouldn't there be no clauses or restrictions? if so, why is the infinite battle clause still there?

Oh, and an unrelated question, how do you get yourself an animated BW sprite of your own choice on your avatar?

To prevent battles from never ending, we don't need people maliciously abusing the ability to make battles endless.

You can set your avatar to any image you have by going to account details and uploading the image as your avatar.
