How the fuck does nuclear fission actually exist. It's like the closest thing to genuine magic in our world, maybe alongside some whacky quantum mechanics that we can't use yet. The history of we've discovered it is also so fucking wild. "Oh some sages just kinda solved these questions we've had for thousands of years and unearthed this unlimited, forbidden power from the Earth in the process". Man

yeah, that goes for technology. Nuclear fission and fusion are natural occurences, that were always "there" and have even occured on Earth at times. We've even known for quite a while that some rocks have weird properties, just didn't understand the reason for these properties and could never imagine that they would containt the most bonkers source of energy in the Universe
Again, it's like arcane magic that was formed by the Universe itself eons upon eons ago that we've had no understandment of, then recognized it enough to start asking questions, and then some people appeared who all happened to live in the same timeframe that unearthed this arcane magic (which is capable of either advancing our species beyond our imagination, or could destroy the Earth itself)
And it can be described with Math, but like, only to a degree? Like radioactivity is one of the very few things that influence us on a macro-level that we cannot mathematically determine or predict. It's random and we can give estimations that are more accurate over a long period of time, but short-term unreliable
I hope I will live through a time where scientists come up that connect quantum physics with regular physics and establish a quantum gravity model. In the way of doing that, they'll probably encounter some even more fucked up magic that could destroy the fabric of reality or smth. I am going full schizo and say that we'll also discover conciousness alongside that
I hope you didn't get the impression that I'm trying to dissuade you from feeling this kind of wonder. It's good to really look around and appreciate how cool the universe is every so often! I do, however, feel that describing these things as "magic" does something of a disservice to the people who have dedicated their careers to better understanding them. Nuclear fission and fusion aren't arcane sorceries that we just unearthed one day; they are processes that thousands of people devoted their lives to unraveling and harnessing for various ends. That doesn't make them less wondrous! I would not conflate a lack of understanding with enchantment in this way.

"Pokemon Go to the polls" was perhaps the most embarrassing "how do you do, fellow kids" moment ever, but if it was said today, it would show an understanding of this generations humor, and the person saying it would actually get support.
It would work now because a lot of people haven't thought about that game in years. When it was current, such moves had no shot of landing.

First you have to install homebrew channel (hbc). letterbomb method works well but it's not the only way. If letterbomb isn't working try a different sd card, make sure it's formatted fat32.
Then install priiloader, and set the wii to boot directly into hbc or priiloader.
Nintendont for playing gc games is the best app to install first, be sure to enable native input. Other than that, it just depends what you want to play.
Yo that's so sick, how did you do it? I tried once to grow some native milkweed with seeds I bought online, but it didn't work.

I was so amazed as a child to see how easy it is to homebrew a Wii and have basically no risk of anything happening. The homebrew channel was really impressive
Couple years ago, I homebrewed my 3DS and I was even more impressed by how easy and wonderful the process is and how sophisticated the entire scene is
Meanwhile, I need to homebrew my Switch again because my this shitty ass Tinfoil app wouldn't work and I lost all my data and my Switch is banned and I can't get fucking atmosphere to boot

I recently made a different kind of video game tier list. Not a list of my favorite games, or the games I think are the highest quality, but the games that have impacted me the most. It's a funny list because I haven't played many of the games on here, let alone beaten them.
It's interesting how a game can be so important to me even if I haven't touched it. Bend your ear and I'll talk about one of them.
Mother - Queen Mary's Castle
I think Mother, the prequel to Ness Earthbound and Lucas Mother 3, doesn't get enough recognition. It was released the year of our lord 1989, not even a decade after arcade Donkey Kong, where video games, their stories, and their themes were far less developed than they are today. When a contemporary of Contra and the original Final Fantasy asks you to stop an evil invader, you'd probably expect to find some kind of superweapon. And instead you spend the game collecting a song. A song you get from a doll, a songbird, and the alien's mother, among other characters. Its earnestness and humble sincerity are just so lovely. I'm almost tearing up just writing it.
Mother - Pollyanna
If you know anything about Mother, you probably know this – the song you collect is a lullaby. Giegue's mother was a human named Maria, who loved them as one loves a child they bear, and sang the lullaby while she raised them. By singing it, you remind Giegue of his connection to the human who raised him, and he's unable to keep fighting, leaving in sadness instead. This is lovely in its own right, but it's a familiar perspective, and it doesn't explain why I led this section with Pollyanna.
This climax is refreshing not only for its emotional connection and novelty, but also for its optimism. The evil outsider invader wasn't so different from us after all, were they? Just like us humans, he had a soul that could be reached, something to care about that wasn't his mission. This humanity doesn't wipe the harm he did off his slate, but it gives us another way to look at him – as a fellow who has strayed from the good path of love, and not someone who is just inherently evil.

can relate to with X, back in November of 2022, if I recall correctly it was exactly 11/4/2022, I picked up the 3ds, was about to play Kirby planet Robobot which was the primary reason I even got it, noticed pokemon XY in the background... Hey, I've watched the Pokemon XY anime, the games should be pretty cool! I was instantly hooked, then swept through every other game I saw, including Oras, SM and even PSMD! On the way, I fell in love with battling and tried online battles, only to get destroyed by dark void Darkrai on my first try... but that only made me want to learn more! still remember that friend of mine telling me Lucario is Ass and it cannot even oneshot flutter mane with bullet punch...
was gonna write something about doing a red mist solo run to have extra pages for purple tear (that way i wouldn't have to go in and out of the game every time i lose) but i cant figure out how to get past her ego. i can't roll high enough to counter her mass-sum, i don't have ego but she does, and my stagger resist is normally too low for me to facetank it. She also always uses it on her infinity die so i can't use myo's prowess to outroll with spear. Any advice?

Yknow considering the ever-mounting disillusionment with algorithm-centered social media sites and nostalgia for the early internet I really do feel like the conditions are in place for some sort of forum/personal website revival movement courtesy of stuff like Neocities but I don't know what is necessary to fully light the spark. Maybe Reddit doing something really, really stupid?
