Kleavor is perfect compared to this... (

Alright I’ll settle this:

#1 Mantis: Scyther - it’s the original and the coolest, no artificial body, cool scythes, just the pinnacle of Mantis gameplay.

#2 Mantis: Scizor - by far the most popular mantis, and the best historically speaking in competitive play. While having a somewhat artificially enhanced body due to going through link cables wearing a metal coat, it still looks cool, doesn’t look forced, and the design is still sharp and original.

#3 Mantis: Mega Scizor - while it’s the enhanced version of Scizor, you can’t help but feel it looks omega fake - someone forgot to shoot a scene in Edward Scissor Hands and ended up making this mega evolution instead.

#4 Mantis: Fomantis - it’s the cutest mantis by far, nothing really comes close. It’s also dangerously deadly in LC play, you wouldn’t tell by looking at it but this little mantis can get out of hand fast.

#5 Mantis: Kleavor - here is where we slot Kleavor. It’s not ugly (none of the Mantis Pokemon are ugly), but it definitely leaves something to be desired with the design. The axe idea is cool, but it is a bit too comically large. If you look at Scizors hands, they are not gigantic forced scissors (like Mega Scizor), it just kind of fits with the body. With Kleavor, it’s quite obvious that those hands can really do anything by themselves besides cleave. Also, they took the worse naming route possible - keeping the “S” theme would have been perfect but instead they just tried to rhyme with Scizor (and did a poor job of it) while replacing C with K as if this was one of King K Rool’s reptile minions. Maybe he is a minion. But nonetheless he’s cool enough to be the #5 Mantis.

Honorable mention: Lurantis, Leavanny

Right below Metal Garurumon
some dude in middle school traded me a metalgarurumon toy telling me that it was what manectric evolved into and i spent roughly 6 months of my life as a kid trying to evolve manectric into that thing
traumatic experience all around, would not recommend

you will be blocked from posting on my profile from now on. thanks.

Honestly, if the axes had been smaller he would be easy number 2 mantis. It's just really uncanny with those absurdly large axes on its tiny arms.
