Welcome to the 5th Challenge Cup Cup! This is a grueling, intense, high-stakes team tournament, featuring 8 teams of 15 players battling across various Challenge Cup formats to become CCCCCs (Coolest Challenge Cup Cup Champions). If you want to be a manager for CCC5, you can sign up in this thread!

Tournament Structure

CCC5 will take place over 9 weeks. In the first 7 weeks, the 8 teams will play round robin matchups, so everyone can do a little :) and a little >:( with everyone else. The top 4 teams, determined by overall record (with games-won serving as tiebreaker), will then proceed to the playoffs, duking it out to be crowned CCCCCs (Coolest Challenge Cup Cup Champions)!

Teams and Managers

Each team will have 2 managers, 12 starter slots and 3 substitute slots, and will be drafted via snake format on either Saturday 18th or Sunday 19th October. Both Managers have the option to play in one of the player slots, but are not obliged to. The participating teams and their managers will be announced on Monday 14th October. We aim to choose managers based on their involvement in the Random Battles community as this is primarily a social tour. While past Challenge Cup Cup manager involvement will be considered, we want to have a breadth of old and new managers!

Signups

To sign up as a manager, please fill out the form below. Only sign up in this thread if you want to manage. Player signups will go up on Friday 11th. Manager Signups will close on Monday 14th October at 7pm GMT. The tournament is expected to start on Monday 21st October, and the regular season will last the following 7 weeks, with playoffs immediately afterwards.

Managing, for us, is like having children for most people. We care about every single one of our teammates' wellbeing. We love them like they're our family because that's exactly what a team is about: making everyone feel welcomed and appreciated for who they are and what they do.

To elaborate a bit, while I may not have the most managing experience, in my first year in the community I've played in both rbel and wcor, and will be playing in slam playoffs, which attests to my playing experience, and I have used these experiences to learn from excellent managers in poat, autumn, and bobomania. I'm also familiar and in good standing with a lot of the community from my experience in these tours and as a rands driver, and while CCC is undoubtedly the most prestigious and most competitive rands tournament, it also focuses a lot on vibes, which I'll assuredly be able to contribute to. Penguins are also basically wynauts if you think about it, and wynauts love tacos, so this is almost assuredly the best manager and mascot pairing. Go wynauts!

I think I know a good amount of people in the rands community, and I have been a part of CCC since the very beginning. I want to keep the slakoths alive, mainly because I have been a player for the team since the first iteration, and it's nice that it's been around for that long. cel has also been a part of slakoths and CCC in general.

I also co-managed Italy in wcor this year and Josh has been a mainstay of the wcor-winning team US North East and he also just told me he managed "an iteration of om snake tour like 5 years ago", which is never a bad thing :D

Why would you make a good manager?: I am a self proclaimed Challenge Cup main who is really passionate about this deranged tier and who loved managing the same team last year. I always try to create a good team atmosphere and I like to make people feel included in the community. Josh has been in the community for ages and he knows pretty much every notable player. He is very experienced when it comes to CCC (see above) and he is the right mix of madness (he is a gen 7 main) and kindness

Why would you make a good manager?: In addition to being long-time friends, we are two members of Eventos, known for being the room that plays the most cc1v1 and has several champion representatives such as Vistar, Irpachuza, Juano, Dybala, ZetaAlfa and Grillo and I themselves. As previously mentioned, he and I were champions of the last edition of the CCC as Oddishs, as well as champions of the CCCCC equivalent of LJDA 1, that is, we are eager to win when it comes to cc1v1.
