If the mafia nightkills the player who currently holds the gun, whether that player knows they have it or not, the kill carrier will take the gun instead of it passing on to the next member of the town as per usual.

So is it possible for the gun to be passed to the mafia normally? It's confusing because you also say "instead of being passed to the next member of town" which seems to suggest this is a list of town-aligned people instead of the entire playerlist.

mafia only get the gun through killing the current holder of the gun, they're not passed it. the playerlist was randomised, the mafia are just ineligible to receive the gun that way so they're taken off the list after rand
