  • Schedule via Smogon VMs. It's easier for us to make decisions for activity calls when we can actually see what went down with scheduling.
  • If you are unable to schedule with your opponent, please let your managers know ASAP so they can communicate that to us or the other team's managers for a potential substitute.
  • When making a substitution, please tag myself, the managers of the opposing team, and all of the players affected by the substitute to ensure that everyone is made aware. Players who have already played in the week or were subbed out in the same week cannot be subbed back in.
  • If a match remains incomplete by the time of the deadline, it will be subject to an activity call.
  • Replays are mandatory. Not only are they useful for confirming wins, they contribute to usage stats and allow the people who couldn't watch the games live to watch them later.
  • To managers: Please send us your lineups in the same format that we used to post pairings. It makes it much easier to post future rounds more quickly.

Why are there not more people talking about Earthworm? This legend is back to co-manage with MrSoup in the GSC PL 5! First open your browser and head to the GSC PL 5 manager signups thread. Now time to craft your epic signup post! Start with a friendly greeting, something like: “Hey everyone MrSoup here”, then drop the bombshell. I'm excited to announce Earthworm as my co-manager! This will definitely turn heads considering Earthworm's legendary status in the community. Next, highlight why you and Earthworm are the Dream Team. Mention Earthworm's impressive track record and your eagerness to learn from the best. Keep it light and engaging, maybe throwing in a joke or two about BigFatMantis deciding to sit this one out. Wrap up with a call to action inviting everyone to support and look forward to your amazing run in the tournament. And there you have it folks! MrSoup's path to GSC PL 5 Glory with Earthworm leading the charge. Even Joe Biden is rooting for this dynamic duo. Good luck and may the best team win!

:gs/smeargle: This is the "no brainer" no disrespect to whoever isn't bolded. :gs/smeargle:
OU: Hyogafodex vs GLFGno7 - It's the invit
OU: Don Eduardo vs NotVeryCake
OU: Deezcastforms vs hellpowna
[The next two could easily be flipped]

Ubers: cyberacc vs BigFatMantis - I think BFM is a proven player, but he hasn't been very active and might have something to prove in this finals week.
UU: pp's splash town vs LustfulLice - It's bold to claim that a 7-1 player isn't gonna win, but Smogon math doesn't ever add up and either player can win. Both these players have already gone 1 for 1 in this tournament with pp being the victor in the most recent exchange. Can he hold up another victory again?

NU: BeeOrSomething vs MrSoup - CURSE

TLDR IT's GOING TO BOIL DOWN TO THESE TWO GAMES
OU: Maître Apagnan vs Sunlight Laughs - I believe that ex.Patate has got this.
PU: torkonpeter vs BloodAce - BA has a better record, but Tork has a better peak having defeated Thor. But the last time I bet against BA, I'm pretty sure I got haxed like crazy ("GSC is Bulky" anyone?).

I like both teams but I do hope that Bayleefs manage to clutch it out. Sowwy folks.

My opponent do Time wasting on purpose because he knows i work After our schedule, to having me subbed out , he claimed he cant play sunday (see our schedule on smogon )and i cant play After OUR scheduled set, he wasted us 3 hours on the first game (on purpose because he knew it was a tie) then says he cant play afterwards, plus he is being disrespectfull to me in pm on smogtour and discord , so im claiming act + a report for unsportmanship behavior

I lack anything to say except that LHF deserves massive shoutouts for supporting us, specifically in ubers, and being a swell guy. I failed this tour, and so does my managerial record continue to. Thank you to the Wobbuffets for doing so amazing up to now, you all deserve a good rest and a break. Thank you Mashing for accompanying me. I appreciate it despite how it ended once again. Congrats to the Bayleefs on their victory.

I'm normally not a fan of long-winded personal posts on forums. But with that said, I do remember what it was like to once lurk Smogon forums because I had extreme self-doubt about actually trying to learn how to play beyond clicking buttons for the sake of it, and seeing how much people enjoyed their team tour experiences and the post tour writeups and team dumps was part of what got me to join the RoA room in the first place and start playing old gen roomtours, starting me on my own Pokemon journey. So bear with my narcissism and humor me just this once. This post is just as much for a stray lurker as it is for everyone here and the Wobbs.

-First, to the Wobbs: my sincere gratitude to all of you for having me around, with a notable mention to cyberacc
for asking to bring me aboard in the first place. Your collective team run was fantastic, and it was a pleasure to be a part of it even in a supporting capacity. Your wins and losses may not have been mine, but I hope you all know how much I took away from this experience, and I hope you enjoyed the tour as much as I did despite the finals not seeming to give any Wobb a break. So thank you for everything - the teams, the informative conversations(and occasional goofposts - homage TLG, the team's true moral anchor), the shitty team drawings(actual art tbh, Cyber's Ho-Oh is literally my pfp now), and most importantly, the journey that came with being a Wynaut to you Wobbs. I know it wasn't always perfect, but for a guy who's never been in a teamcord before, I have to say it was a pretty great one and I will always look back at it fondly. Congrats to the Saints on winning back to back finals.

- A bit random perhaps but I want to give a few specific acknowledgements to people who were NOT on the wobbs: first, Fear and jking55 who comically enough could not be farther apart in terms of why I'm shouting them out. To the former, an obvious veteran of GSC... learning a new tier on the fly is not easy at all, especially when the competition is this fierce and there is a major spotlight on you given previous success and reputation. I really appreciated the games we played together. And to the latter, a relative newbie getting noticed and trying to make a name for yourself in any tour is a tough but rewarding task. You took the leap of faith to sign up and have the experience as a player, that you've found yourself making friends in this scene, and I'm quite glad that GSC NU has become a tier that you really enjoy. Neither of you need my validation obviously but please accept it all the same.

- I'd like to end by giving a word to that lurker I mentioned at the start of this post. if you have ever wanted to get a glimpse of what the community is like, try to see if you can find your way onto a team tour as a helper. If you're not confident enough in your skills or well connected enough to get signed, this is a fantastic way to sit under a learning tree. In my own case, though I only came in to support for GSC Ubers, I learned a LOT about the various GSC tiers and came away actually enjoying more of them than I otherwise expected to. If you do take that leap into playing tours like a PL, first congratulations, you've done more than most by putting your name out to compete(including me - I only supported, real skills are forged in the flames of battle). But second, don't take anyone's word on ANYTHING just because they're your friend or otherwise well respected without testing out the opinion for yourself. Discussing and swapping notes about the game is vital to improving for certain, but just as important is playing and finding what works for you - both in terms of having fun and in terms of player expression. If someone you like and/or respect hates a tier, but you have interest in it? Give it a shot, it might just be fun for you. You see potential in a mon that's not very discussed? Build up a case study on it - grab some replays of you showing off its strengths, do well with it in tour, do a writeup etc etc. You just might be responsible for pushing a metagame forward.

If you've read this far, thanks for your time and I hope there was something of value here for you, whatever that may be. To the hedges I return.

I am so happy to have been able to have this experience again. Winning last year was my best experience on Smogon. Doing so again provides the same amount of joy. I'm so elated I can't quite word it, so I'll just move on.

I want to primarily thank the hosts Murm Zcarlett. You did an EXCELLENT job. Tour ran smoothly and you were always available. Thank you so much.

Thank you and ggs to our opponents throughout this tour as well. It was a pleasure.

A quick comment about the tour format: I was wrong. 8 slots worked perfectly fine with 6 teams. I would advocate for something similar next year. This felt way more competitive and cohesive than last year. Although I am fully and entirely exhausted. I probably put like 20 hours a week into this tour lol.

Now for the loyal followers of John Bayleef.

chub here is your notification we won GSCPL V. Love you <3

GLFGno7 I know how bad you wanted this and I'm so glad the team delivered. You had an incredibly funny journey through this tournament, and while it may have scarred you, I think you took a lot away from the experience. We never lost faith in you and you showed us what peak play really looks like. I'm very glad to have been able to work in OU along with you and see your thought processes.

Jhonx~ Thanks for coming along for the ride again this year. Last time it was for FOR JHONX and now you're able to celebrate in victory with us live. Wish you the best, and sorry we couldn't get you games.

Raahel BRO YOU HAD FAITH TWICE. You are such a joy. An absolute must pickup for the Bayleef clan. Thanks for just being the most kind and approachable person. You always come through when we need you.

NotVeryCake I hope you had a great introduction to GSC in the last few months. Your talent for the gen are clearly evident and your future moving forward is bright. You are a real team player and I suspect you will be one of the big dogs of the gen very soon.

hellpowna I am so happy we were able to slot you in Ubers and OU. Given this was one of your first forays into the tier, you did absolutely amazing. When times were tough, you always had the spirit to bring us through. This was my first opportunity to really get to know you and I now I understand why you're so loved. Bless up.

CrossHeart You came in clutch in several moments throughout the season with wins and prep. You also went undefeated. I hope to see you more in GSC bc you have a talent for it. Happy to have you as a Bayleef worshipper.

Sunlight Laughs You have a passion for GSC like I've never seen. You were probably most committed to the team succeeding than anyone lol, and it showed with your willingness to learn new tiers to help prep and put in endless amounts of practice. Stall demon prevails.

BloodAce As part one of three of The Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Bayleef Saint's Skrigham Young-based low tier strategy, you did everything you needed to do and more. This tier is super challenging for me and so your ability to hold your own in prep and play was much appreciated. Your sportsmanship with rotating in and out of the roster was very much noticed. Absolutely a pleasure to draft you.

skrimps As part two of three of The Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Bayleef Saint's Skrigham Young-based low tier strategy, you didn't do anything you needed to do at all. However your preachings of the lord and savior brought peace to the realm and united the warriors under one banner.

LustfulLice As part three of three of The Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Bayleef Saint's Skrigham Young-based low tier strategy, you didn't need to do anything but you did everything. Honestly, we were kind of going on a limb when planning this but we knew how good of a player you were. We kind of drafted the whole team around this idea that you would stomp the pool for 3k and well... look what you did king. An absolutely amazing performance for never playing the tier before. You put in so many hours to learn endless matchups. I hope you walk away from this focusing on your achievements and not any detractions. You have an amazing skill that you proved with 8-1 record. Congratulations and thank you for LETTING us draft you.

Onraider Thank you brother. It's a shame you couldn't play in this tour but it means the world to me that you chose to stick it out with the Bayleefs. You're boutta tear up 2025.

SENTURIES Gallinova juoean thank you for your sporadic emotional and team building support throughout the tour. Appreciate your efforts <3

Earthworm I can't believe you decided to go on this journey with us. It's funny how our pitch started with 'yeah, you don't have to do much,' and you ended up putting endless amount of effort into each and every one of the slots. I could not have asked for a better co-manager (especially compared to my co last year :worrywhirl:.) For some reason I wanted to win this more for you than for myself. I know you probably feel equally tired by this experience as I do, but I hope this sort of reinvigorated some of your passion for GSC. Getting to work, interact, and build with you has certainly broadened my thinking and made me a better player. I'm sure the rest of the team agrees through working so closely with you.

BigFatMantis I could write a ten thousand word essay in the form of a AI-created youtube video about you. There's so much yada yada to say but it all boils down to: I'm so glad we were able to share this experience again and I wouldn't have ever done it if you didn't want to. We weren't sure we even wanted to play, but I'm thrilled we did. Definitely my Smogon dynamic duo.

And finally we are here, team. We've done it!

First of all, I definitely have to congratulate you all on being the great players that you are. You are so good & dedicated that you didn't let up even when we had mathematically won, you still prepped to win the rest of the games

Moreover, you are equally good teammates and being together w you was a great experience. I really appreciate how you stood by my side when I was having a tough time losing my 4 first games (to the same team too). As well as how the managers didn't lose any faith in me despite this. And I am extremely happy that I got to repay you for your trust and support by going almost undefeated (1 cross chop away) in next 5 games

Thanks a lot for helping me win my first team tournament (and third in total for current year, after seasonal & cup). I wish you all the best in your lives and am looking forward to seeing you in future tours

We did it! It's incredible. From the beginning, I knew our team would go far, and now we can only enjoy our well-deserved trophy.
I want to thank my managers for trusting me, even though I had almost no experience playing in GSC Uber.
I also want to thank the team, especially BFM, without whom I would never have been able to achieve this result. It was truly enjoyable to play GSC Uber and to face some of the best players out there. My invitation goes out to all OU players (those who’ve never played it) to give it a try—it's really fun and extremely competitive.
Our victory wasn’t only due to consistent performance throughout the tournament (something that is key in Pokémon if you want to win), but also because of the atmosphere within the tour.
I believe that any result (even individual ones) is the product of a healthy environment and great cooperation, and this is not only thanks to us players but especially to our managers, who knew how to handle any situation in the best possible way.
We always thought as a team, and the mix of experienced players and new talents, all united by a great willingness to help each other, brought us here. Personally, I believe this is the key to winning any team tour.

Last but not least, I want to say it was amazing and "emotional" to play and be cheered on by those who inspired me to play this game. I still remember fondly when I watched you playing YouTube, I was a kid and now a bit older. I’ve come to understand your greatness, MR PIRATE… you are truly a legend. It was really a pleasure... and an honor to share this stage with you.
Thanks again guys..you have been fantastic!
