The likeshop was in the smogoff thread for a reason. It's for fun and silliness why do we got to be serious and criticise it and make it seem evil or something right now? :blobsad:

Those people comparing this fanmade metagame to real-world sh!t are ALMOST ALWAYS trolls. Please ignore them and let the council members do their thing so we won't be feeding the fire and it will dissipate eventually thanks ^^

I think you're missing the point but we're far too entertained by the way you're phrasing your misunderstanding to actually explain it

Fin was always a quickban that could be revised after DLC, arceus is just a monster that can never be considered OU. Hope that helps and i'd take your "we only have our chains to loose!" mentality to your union, it does more work there than here (forum of a totally free game).

I mean, that's a good thing, its a funny thing. But separate the strategic aspect from that then, proposing a suspect by using reactions is stupid. Everything else is cool and is mainly a good idea, I support it. Just be logical with the current management of SVOU

Ignoring the fact that Likes aren't monetized, it was upfront that the Likeshop Suspect had to be filtered through Council approval, so it's not like a ridiculous Suspect could be pushed through anyway. Opinions be opinions but this is just factually incorrect info to base the reply on.

There was also a multitude of "buying" rewards like the Custom Titles or sketch art (shout out to the Slither Wing piece I got, it's adorable).

Per the spoiler, even if I assume a troll, I consider it worthwhile to respond in a straightforward manner. At worst, I waste a few words on someone trying and failing to rile me up; in other cases, it puts sincere arguments forward that other readers can engage with while ignoring the lame ramblings.

What's stupid? As I replied elsewhere, the Suspect still had to be a reasonable subject, and given likes most directly correlate to forum activity, this is essentially another flavor of a "high Survey Result -> Suspect Test" pipeline. It still has to go through the same testing process, and there's not any indication this is a Zero-Sum thing where Palafin being tested now supercedes/Delays another Suspect Test that would have occurred without the Likeshop campaign.

social class under capitalism is self-perpetuating by design, but that's not the case here. you can just get a ton of likes by posting a bunch and being entertaining or useful. hell, if you're good enough at it you even get a badge, being a consistent high-quality poster is one of the criteria that can earn you community contributor
 
I feel like I’m living in a fever dream every time I see people trying to unironically infer Finchinator as this big detached evil who is trying to control the tier but somehow at the same time doesn’t care???? Like dog it feels like sometimes people want to stir shit just to stir shit. Go hang out with your families and friends for fucks sake, it’s Christmas Eve, surely there are better uses of your time.

probably not, kind of a gimmick since its hilariously inconsistent, on top of having very low distribution. The only viable ou pokemon that get it are hamurott, blaziken, kommo-o, okidogi, keldeo, greninja, weavile, quaquaval, and hawlucha. And of the list the only mons I could see making good use of it is ken and hawlucha, but ken already has 4mss and the only priority hawlucha struggles with is thunderclap, which substitute/encore can help play around that as reliably as upper hand on top of having other applications

They have no voice because they're not good enough or haven't made the effort to earn it. Let's give the voice to the good players who actually play the game. This obsession with trying to be fair in every circumstance will kill the game !

True

65 base damage is kinda garbs as well and running into Ghost King sucks as well.

I just feel adding another type priority into the mix makes it a bit difficult to team build as far as laddering goes. Let's see how the test goes tho

If Palafin stays, I'm probably gonna make a Toxicroak team so looking forward to that at least

Dude please just go spend time with your friends and family instead of dying on this hill. Tons of qualified players contributed to the likeshop event (including those without insanely high reaction scores). You are genuinely just stirring shit for no reason atp.

If you have any further complaints please just PM me or a member of the council, instead of whatever it is you’re trying to do here. We are moving on now since this isn’t relevant to the thread and because your arguments are evidently fueled by spite instead of good faith.

I don't think Palafin works well in webs or screens at all because you are spending too many turns just being pasive. Lokix structures work for Banded where you make the substitution :lokix: -> :palafin hero:, and as for bulk up, idk, offense or bo? It doesn't seem too overwhelming for now and it looks like if it is it will only show after the test is over

It's pretty good on webs actually. Easier to find the turn since you want to swap a bit more to keep webs up and position, plus araq as a bulky setter means you can just lead fin t1 sometimes. I'm not a fan on screens at all though, feels really awkward and the limited turn nature sucks.

I think I'll listen to Finch for once and spend time with my family. Palafin can wait a day or two imo.

i've tried cooking with it before, but there are a lot of problems with it. the inconsistency of "this move only works against priority" makes it very difficult to justify spending a moveslot on it even with this amount of priority running around, and on top of that it's got really bad distribution for ou—the only mon with it that's ou proper doesn't even have stab on it and has a relatively fast sucker punch to out-priority opposing priority anyway (and a separate fighting coverage option that's more than twice as strong). and of course even if it were to ever start getting popular then priority users would just start running tera ghost. long story short, upper hand hasn't got much going for it
