Story:

Tristan Thorne a shop boy from Wall embarks on a journey to retrieve the falling star to win the heart of his true love Victoria. He journeys across the wall which seperates our kingdom from the kingdom of Stormhold. Upon discovering the falling the star he sought was a beautiful girl he promised that if she agreed to come with him to wall he'd find a way to bring her back up to the sky. So together they travel through the kingdom of Stormhold back to Wall. The trip would have been easy had they not been chased by witches and princes all after immortal life. On their journey they meet up with Captain Shakespeare who grants them safe passage to a port city a few miles away from wall. Before reaching Wall however they were confronted by the witches and so Tristan along with Septimus joined forces to fight off the witches from cutting out Yvaine's heart. The result I cannot tell just go watch the movie ;P.

The Ratings:

Visual Effects:
There were a couple of decent special effects here and there throughout the movie. I especially liked the fire scene in the motel. So I'm giving it 8/10.

Sound:
I love the soundtrack of this film. It fits perfectly with the mood of the film. So I'm giving it 9/10.

Screenplay:
You know what I would say this is the part I didn't enjoy very much on Stardust, it's a very good film that's a given but the screenplay didn't live up to my standards. So I'm giving it 7/10.

Overall:
All in all I think Stardust is a really good film for everyone. So the overall rating is...... 8/10.

Well thanks for taking the time to read this. I apologize in advance for any typos or grammatical errors I may have had when writing this. Thanks again take care, have a nice day and God Bless!:toast:

This was the best shitty movie I've ever seen. My friend dragged me to it while it was still in theatres, and I probably would have hated it if me and her other friend didn't get to make sarcastic comments the entire time. Comments included:

- Yelling "PRIMUS ROCKS!" every time the character Primus appeared on screen.
- Noting the similarities between the main character and Chris Kattan.
- general sexual innuendos that we made up

If you're the kind of person who doesn't like people commenting while you're watching a movie (or hang out with people like that), I wouldn't recommend watching this movie. However, it is very entertaining, especially in a group (plus, DeNiro's role makes me giggle with joy every time I think about it).

This was a great movie! I think probably because I knew or recognised most of the actors (a lot of them are involved in British comedy) I found it particularly charming. The plotline seemed a little hurried, but I think that's due to the fact that so much happens in the film. It might have benefited from up to an extra hour or so of screenplay, just to give the plot a more flowing feel - it seemed to skip ahead by arbitrary periods of time between a lot of scenes (with only a few 'montages' to cover them).
However, I really did enjoy it and would have liked the two hours to have lasted longer. I think the 'visuals' are underrated in your review - The very first shot exhibits great camera-work and there is a lot of impressive CGI (as with most fantasy films).
It really isn't a 'shitty movie' - rather, it's a lighthearted fantasy in the vein of The Princess Bride, that has all the potential to be a cult hit.

fuck yes dude. how come I haven't seen this thread before? the day i saw this movie i wanted to review it but i didn't have any patience and forgot. It is a great movie. The only thing that bothered me was the ending, but not by much.

It really is an awesome movie, I enjoyed it throughly.

I'll add here that it is an adaption of a Neil Gaiman book of the same name (Stardust); the plot is similar, but certain twists are hidden much better with the showdown and run up to the ending being vastly different.

The film I found entertaining, but no substitute for the book.
