:hatterene: - when you have... wait, seriously? people are running life orb on this? why?
Not totally sure but if I had to guess its because you can potentially offset the recoil with draining kiss

also you forgot hydrapple, by far my favorite lo user because it can fairly easily offset the chip with giga drain and regenerator.

Hydrapple @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Giga Drain
- Nasty Plot
- Earth Power

I run draco meteor over fickle beam because I far prefer the consistent damage output over praying for cheese.

Trick Room 3 Attack is usually the set, or any other offensive ride or die set, it's kinda cool but offensive Hatt doesn't do well in this meta imo.
:walking wake: - just use the specs. this thing is built to not have to switch moves
Mystic Water > Specs > Life Orb. Specs on Booster Speed is all fun and games until you hit an immunity and lose all momentum. At least go Booster Special Attack imo. Mystic Water on the other hand lets Booster Speed be the offense demon it's supposed to be. It doesn't matter if you clicked Steam and Kyurem came in after to set up because it's getting Draco'd. If only it wasn't slower than Booster Moth

mystic water however is a complete nonthreat to stall because it doesn't have enough power to kill blissey while specs actually beats chipped blissey

Sun in general isn't a real threat to stall right now (outside of the rare Modest Wake), especially the newest stall (Heatran Hydrapple), due to Sun's lack of wallbreakers to follow up on the pressure on Blissey (Gliscor can beat Raging Bolt, and in a pinch Alomomola or Hydrapple can both switch into a Steam Eruption). I personally prefer Mystic Water for the better matchup into the other playstyles, though I dislike sun as a whole right now.

Pivoting away from this discussion, what do people think of Roaring Moon recently? A new set has risen in Bulky Dragon Dance with Tera Blast Fairy, has anyone tried it themselves? Do you think it'll stick around, or will it fade into irrelevancy?

Got surprised by this one and nearly lost to it yesterday. It feels extremely insane, ground/dark/fairy as coverage hits a lot of typical Moon answers super effectively and is a nightmare to contend with. I haven't run into the Roost Variant yet but I feel like this is going to be the natural progression for it, it stays around way longer than expect and outright destroys many common answers expecting acro/knock

fair, it's a trade off imo, do better into offense but weaker into fat teams. if you wanna do better into fat teams, I would go booster special attack; booster speed is meant for a better match up into offense in my eye and nothing's worse than giving offense free turns.

It's pretty scary but the loss of speed is really noticable. I've run Bulky Adamant before (albeit not Tera Fairy Blast) and it's harder to get on the field vs faster teams because of the slower speed tier and it's more easily revenged by booster mons. the bulk is kinda crazy though, you end up living lots of important hits and doing insane damage back.

:garchomp: - i'm gonna be honest i don't know why this is even in ou by usage recently. like i can see the factors that put it there, but every time i use the mon it feels like dead weight whose job can be accomplished better by ting or kyu
Psychological warfare. Trick Ladder into thinking LO is good by seeing it on Garchomp as it suddenly rises to OU usage. Then watch them lose 40% of their Health U-Turning into the Rocky Helmet Tank set.

I'm curious, what does Boots 4A offer that other sets do not? Is the value concentrated solely around being able to pivot without being locked in via a choice item?

Pick a stat-drop move of choice... or run both! Pivot out! Momentum!

idk about yall, but whenever I run Hydrapple vs U-Turn Woger, I always wish it could pivot itself. With this new technology, it can! Get a fat hit off on gking and pivot out to Samurott or whatever! Free switches! Momentum! Victory!

We are likely to have a tiering announcement come this weekend (or early next week the latest) that pertains to SV OU.

No, it is not a suspect test. No, you cannot use this thread to speculate what it is and further derail discussions with shitposts or nonsense. You guys had that opportunity in the past and abused it, so I will just continue to be transparent and you guys will see when it’s up. Thanks

Great typing both offensively and defensively. It also definitely benefit from Clodsire's drop in usage.
It really didn’t care for Clodsire either way, Unaware Clodsire isn’t the greatest matchup into Keldeo and it wasn’t even used often enough to stifle Keldeo in the first place.

Keldeo is rising mostly thanks to that CTC team, but also due to its unique set of traits which matches up well into the specially defensive walls and checks of the tier. Water STAB hits Ting Lu and Gliscor for super effective damage, while also chunking Slowking Galar and Tinkaton fairly well, especially off the back of a Tera Water boost. Flip Turn allows it to pivot out of its bad MUs, and Vaccum Wave is a decent priority option as well, though its matchup into Kingambit was already heavily favored and its matchup into Raging Bolt is still a loss. It’s not Pecharunt levels of improvement, but it’s a solid pick into the current metagame and will likely settle into a comfortable niche.

I remember running into a set like this, replace Plot with Recycle. I thought it was so cool to see, although it accomplished absolutely nothing it still managed to make my day.

This looks a lot more interesting, I enjoyed using Nasty Plot into Volt Switch on Rotom a good while back, I can appreciate the value of a boost and cash.

The Mouse(TM) is such a fucking fun pokemon. It feels really bad that multiple rocky helmet teams seem to be more and more popular though, it feels like you absolutely need 2 knockers to ensure they don't just roll over your poor family of mice. By extension though I've had a lot of fun using TB Elec/Fire on it for counters against some things, what do my fellow Mouse(TM) enjoyers like to use?

Additionally, I want to add Body Press Volcannion fucking rips dude. Too bad Rillaboom feels so bad rn.

Tera dark bite is a good option that is less tera reliant

Another Maushold heat tera choice is Grass, to beat Sinistcha. Pop tera Grass on the Strength Sap, Encore it, and snag another boost on the switch out.

It has no other purpose, but Maushold tera is always either "sweep and win" or "kill a shared counter", so it's just picking another option.

I'm a massive fan of Tera Elec for this sort of reason as well--Baiting thunderwave, resisting a Thunderclap/bolt, etc all bang hard as fuck. Not to mention resisting Make It Rain in some cases is very nice!!
