just 1 question, does the ditto have to be limber?
>:)
Limber Ditto Fat/Stall:
:sv/ditto: :sv/slowbro-galar: :sv/gligar: :sv/muk-alola: :sv/diancie: :sv/palossand:
Late at night is the best time to turn a shower thought into whatever you call this team. Typically, stall teams use a non-limber ditto, but I thought it would be interesting to see if there was a way to incorporate a limber ditto into such a team. My first thought was to use Metal Powder to double Ditto's defense so it can possibly survive a hit with a 428 defense stat, with a stall squad backing it so it's not a pivoting sack 11/10 games, but TIL that Metal Powder and Quick Powder were dexited in gen 9. The backup plan following that was a focus sash lead with tera ghost to squeeze out whatever else I can from it.

The next mon I wanted to add was a regenerator mon, and a second NUCL mascot in Slowbro-g. Its job is to poison things that I want poisoned, serve as a Flamigo deterrent, and as a wincon if I can position for IDBP. I added a Gligar next in case I needed to switch into a ground move or toxic, and to add knock off support to the team. I am running rest + spikes because the lack of recovery was painful and it's not like this kind of team needs U-turn anyways.

Muk-a is the star of this team, being able to blank basically every special attacker. It does struggle a bit into the water-type ones, which is why it's tera water. The diancie slot was originally a Bronzong as just a Cinccino check, but my Incineroar matchup was so abysmal with Palossand last that I needed to switch to Diancie. Tera grass flips Diancie's weaknesses and lets it lean into a spd wall once opposing incineroar and cinccino are dealt with. Palossand is here because I wanted to make sure I had a Toxtricity check, and it serves as the rocker that actually is running rocks since I deemed it the least likely to want to run something else. Palo also is a good check to IDBP mons.

The bad matchups for this team are things that can break Diancie/Muk, which is mostly setup sweepers. A non-limber Ditto would fix this issue a bit, but that's not fun. Notably, setup Incineroar can kill everything on the team but Diancie, Tera Ghost Porygon-Z on this one team 6-0s because I love to let it set up and all my attacks are body press, and Leech Seed Vileplume absolutely dunks on the squad and is actually worse for me than amoongus because of ssap making Muk awkwardly sit there and hope it doesn't choose healing.

your opponent may think of this as some semi-typical bulky offense team, but you blast them away with specs analytic magneton and sylveon along with choice band flygon and bronzong, with scarf munkidori and flamigo as revenge killers
, munkidori and bronzong can also disrupt opposing pokemon with trick

Mascots HO
:cinccino::munkidori::flygon::kilowattrel::drednaw::diancie:

Team is fairly straigtforward special overwhelm HO with a cleaner in drednaw or diancie typically. Munki and flygon aren't typical HO mons but i wanted to use try them in this team structure. Munki set abuses incin which is fun, lures zong, and gets important chip on amuk for out other special attackers. Mixed flygon on top of just being a solid breaker can also suprise some physical walls for drednaw.

Season 3, Week 7: Money Matters

This week, NUTC is giving everyone a flashback to high school with its unique mechanic. You will be given 10 points to use for collecting Pokemon, which will force you to budget correctly. Not only that, but it also enforces creative teams on your part. The costs for Pokemon are as follows in the hidetag.

Pawmot Wins The Spotlight!

:goodra: :pawmot: :swampert: :incineroar: :scyther: :cinccino:
1 pt -- 0 pt -- 2 pt -- 2 pt -- 2 pt -- 3 pt -- Total: 10 pts

I wanted Goodra to be the star (now that Registeel is gone I figure it does better) but Pawmot was actually decent. No need for Revival Blessing, 4 attacks LO does just fine. Helpful reminder - if you want to get the tera boost on Double Shock, remember to do it before using it the first time.
Goodra beats Bronzong with Knock + Fire Blast (even easier if you burn the Zong). That helps Scyther + Cinccino. Use one of the two to break, depending on need + opponent's speed tiers. Speaking of which, you don't have a scarfer, so plan accordingly. Trailblaze/Tidy Up give you that sweeper speed, or rely on your defensive checks to sponge hits mid-game.
Cincinno is my custom Boots + Skill Link set that helps against webs. Bullet Seed over Knock because Gastro is annoying for the team and there are already 2 other Knock guys on the team.

Sub Inteleon BO by Shengineer and hammer798
:pmd/inteleon::pmd/pawmot::pmd/overqwil::pmd/uxie::pmd/chandelure::pmd/copperajah:
> 1 + 0 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 6 <

The heart of this team is a Substitute Inteleon set we devised to break its own checks using Tera Blast Grass. We figured it would be a great target for revival blessing since it doesn't mind being low on HP thanks to Torrent, so an Eject Pack Pawmot serves as both a support and offensive pivot. Scarf Overqwil compresses Spikes, speed control, and a Knock Off absorber all into one slot and can nab surprise KOs vs Kilowattrel. SpDef Uxie makes a great partner with Overqwil and provides Stealth Rock, Knock Off, and slow pivoting with U-turn to help out the offensive core. PhysDef Chandelure is a unique yet potent spinblocker, and Tera Flying helps with the team's Ground weakness. Finally, to help versus Porygon-Z and Meteor Beam Diancie, AV Copperajah joins the team as a hit-trading machine. We were way under budget with this one, but that's just the Shengineer difference!

We're breaking the mold with this one.

Bascinno: 6
Flamigo: 2
Duralrodon-H: 2
Whimsi: Free (How is this mon not higher atleast put it in C)

Team is build around Mold Breaker Basculegion pressing flip turn and Rotom-Heat beating the common switch-ins.

Why Mold Breaker over Adaptability? Gastro.

Rotom-H helps against the steels that switch into Cinno/Duraludon/Whimsi and pivots.

Don is a grass switch in, checks opposing Bascs and gains momentum with e-pack Draco's and has hazzards. Role compression black hole.

Whimsi can switch into the grounds that Rotom-H has problems dealing with, unless it's an ice punch Swampert then the gameplan is the X button. Shadow ball sees Ko's on both Chandy and Munki with tera ghost (Munki only after rocks). Switcherooing specs helps when you get stuck.

Flamigo is fast and presses Brave bird. Pairs well with Basc which flips on grass types.

Cinno removes hazzards and lures Copper so Whimsi and Flamigo get to press a single button more easily.
+1 252 Atk Tera Fire Cinccino Tera Blast (80 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Copperajah: 428-506 (95.5 - 112.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

SUN
:klefki:-:whimsicott:-:venusaur:-:scovillain:-:brute bonnet:-:infernape:
2pts----0pt----0pt----0pt----0pt----1pt = 3pts
Nupl is around the corner and what better way to make a throwback to last years nupl than with a sun team

:Klefki: is sun setter number 1 providing prankster spikes and thunder wave support as well, while :whimsicott: is setter 2 with prankster encore and memento, the latter allowing for a free growth on either venusaur or brute bonnet. :Venusaur: is the staple of lower tier sun team with a monsterous damage output with +2 life orb tera fire weather ball in the sun, I tossed on sludge bomb to prevent alolan ninetales from freely coming in to remove the sun and timid nature to outspeed things such as scarf infernape whose usage has been slowly rising, booster scream, +1 cincinno, and even the 1 random scarf inteleon on ladder, in the sun. :Scovillain:, as many who were present for last nupl would know, has almost 0 switchins to specs tera fire, fire move in the sun, whom isn't obliterated by the grass moves, or isnt just 2 hit ko'd by fire blast anyway! timid once again is a must as munkidori is the most common scarf in the tier and unlike venusaur, modest scovillain can't even outspeed that in sun, and also timid scovillain will still outspeed scarf infernape, booster scream, and +1 cincinno as well, unfortunately the scarf inteleon user wins this round though, or maybe not can it even ohko scovillain in sun? no 252 SpA Tera Water Inteleon Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Scovillain in Sun: 164-194 (60.5 - 71.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO. Anyways I wanted a priority user next and unfortunately arcanine can't really touch chandelure who the team is starting to look weak to so it's time for :brute bonnet: to shine, protosynthesis boosted sucker punches in sun hit incredibly hard after a growth and black glasses boost it further, tera fire dodges random burns and adds a resist to fire, fairy, and bug, and also hits very hard in sun with tera blast, you can opt for crunch over seed bomb as another dark move to make use of black glasses, however I went with seed bomb as it becomes very reliant on tera to break through things like scrafty otherwise when you only have dark moves. Tera dark and dropping tera blast for crunch can also be an option. Lastly scarf :infernape: as a form of speed control when suns not up who can throw off strong, potentially blaze boosted fire moves in sun and can hit chandelure with knock off, threw on raging fury over flare blitz which avoids both recoil damage and adverse contact effects since raging fury doesn't make contact, which also means houndstones fluffy doesn't half its damage output. You may have noticed all the sun abusers are tera fire, can your opponent handle the heat?

SD Incin+Scarf Breloom Balance
:incineroar: :cramorant: :breloom: :bronzong: :avalugg: :sylveon:
2 pts -- 1 pt -- 1pt -- 2pts -- 1pt -- 1pt = 8 points

Starting off, I knew I wanted to build around SD Incineroar, as I usually use the specially defensive set more. I then knew I wanted to build around a FWG core, so I next used cramorant, who is a nice defogger and actually pairs pretty nicely with incineroar defensively. Tera ground makes up for the lack of a normal volt resist. Next up, Scarf Breloom. Ngl, I wanted to try it out since it looked like a fun set, and it was way better then I thought. The suprise factor alone meant that it could usually take a ko that it wouldn't usually expect to take, but even once it was revealed, it still was effective at cleaning up games or revenge killing. Bronzong is the mandatory steel of the team, nothing more to be said. Avalugg is honestly less for rapid spinning, and more for being an insanely fat physical wall. You could potentially replace it with something like swampert or gastrodon, but it still works well here. Finally, we have sylveon, which is the wish passer of the team in order to heal up incin, bronzong and breloom. It can also act as a wincon with CM.

Good evening.
I understand that there was a budget of 10 points. Here's the thing. So, me and my wife have our honeymoon coming up and...you know how it is, right? Everything has to be perfect. But believe it or not, the expenses outdid my expectations by exactly 10 points! What a blunder! Of course, I can't just cancel everything now, can I?
...You know where I'm going with this, right? What's that? You'll lend me your points? No, no, no, I couldn't possibly accept. There's no need. It's a good opportunity to show everyone how to teambuild on a budget. I present to you:

Budget Offense
:Rotom::Rhydon::Orthworm::Hitmontop::Jolteon::Bruxish:

:Rotom: - Rotom is a solid budget choice for pretty much any archetype. Building balance on a budget is kinda tricky, so let's focus on the benefits it brings to offense: Breaking through ground types to form volt turn cores, enabling sweepers via burns and late game cleaners via Pain Split/Hex chip on important targets. Price: $0;
:Rhydon: - I usually would have a Lucario or an Incineroar in this team slot but this was the only Swords Dance sweeper that accepted to lend me a hand for free, I can't ask for much more. Rhydon is a physically bulky sweeper that trades hits against all sorts of targets, with coverage to hit pretty much the entire tier really hard - provided it lives a hit. Tera Water offsets the quad weakness to water (but not grass ;-; ), and also lets us survive all kinds of BoltBeam users. Price: $0;
:Bruxish: - Secondary speed control option with deceptively powerful STABs in Wave Crash/Psychic Fangs, forms a strong volt-turn core with Rotom. Vaporeon is not a switch-in, Toxicroak is not a switch-in, Gastrodon is not a switch-in. Quiver in fear. Price: $0;
:Jolteon: - Here's another guy that enjoys Rotom's presence. Jolteon is a solid speed control and cleaner - once roadblocks like Swampert and Gastrodon are removed - that doesn't need to be choice locked. It gets access to boltbeam after tera and calm mind to threaten sweeps (Even though it's never going to click that button). Rotom and Bruxish give it pivoting support, so that it gets to activate Flame Orb without having to run, like, Protect. Price: $0;
:Orthworm: - We kinda need a stealth rock setter and a steel type to eat the four billion types of hits our team is weak to. What's that, Orthworm was removed from the VR? Oh, dear, how un(fortunate)! SPDef investment lets us better check threats like OTR Diancie and Porygon-Z, just by virtue of steel being that good of a type (plus ground immunity). Tera Dragon borrows a page from Registeel's book by resisting fire, while still having too many resistances to count. Tera Electric and Ghost are also alternatives, but Dragon just feels more consistent with the SPDef investment. Price: $0;
:Hitmontop: - There's not a lot of removal to choose from when you are on a budget, so I decided to borrow a page from Uberfiend's book and give the better Hitmon form a chance. Assault Vest gives us a secondary switch-in to special attackers, while Technician-boosted Bullet Punch/Triple Axel hits a lot of the tier hard. Sadly it doesn't get Knock Off. Tera steel synnergizes well with Bullet Punch, flips weaknesses to fairy/flying/psychic, and just is a good defensive type overall. Price: $0;

Cheap Trick (Room)
:diancie::copperajah::exeggutor-alola::mesprit::golurk::flamigo:
3pt -- 1pt -- 0pt -- 0pt -- 1pt -- 2pt = 7pts total

(theme music linked in title) Originally I was gonna make some min-maxed HO and spent my points on support and then use low/non ranked sweepers... but every time the teams just all basically took an L to diancie. So then I was looking into other playstyles that I thought would save on points, and I thought hey, Diancie is pretty good!!!1! Full Trick room really seemed to fit the bill of this challenge giving a lot of uncommonly used mons the chance to shine! And diancie! Copper and Golurk are solid offensive TR abusers (both LO to ease predictions and to not waste TR if you get locked into a bad move), Eggy and Mesprit (which notably gets rocks and healing wish to support our LO abusers) are dedicated setters. Mesprit is EV'd to live a bramble poltergeist from full and not be 2 shot by scarf flamigo bravebirds. In practice you almost always lead mesprit and click sr -> tr -> hwish and store it for later. I always like to run 1 fast mon on TR for revenge killing and flamigo seemed to fit the structure the best and has good offensive presense. Plus we weren't hurting on points at this point. It isn't the fastest scarfer ever but it isn't our only speed control so I don't think thats an issue.

Replays: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
I definitely meant to click TR before Hwish in game 2 but it still worked out lmao

2. Shengineer (I will never understand HO but this team looks sick)
3. LTTM (Based LO Copperajah believer)

2. mold breaker basc (midwest emo band)
3. pawmot spotlight (ralts boy)
what is shenj’s addiction to eject pack close combat. also, even though their teams always look cool, I just know that they have insanely bad matchups in the meta somewhere
