Sun is very strong in CAP because Malaconda is infinitely better as a sun setter than Torkoal (no rocks weakness, reliable recovery, slow pivoting with Parting Shot).

On the other side, standard OU HO structures are a lot weaker. For instance, the dark-spam sample team gets eaten alive by Hemogoblin and Revenankh.

I'm sure there are other examples, but these are the 2 on the top of my mind right now.
 
Complete outsider so sorry if that's a silly question, just being curious about cap gamers opinion on something: if Cresceidon would to receive a rework in the future, do you believe Copycat could be an interesting addition to its movepool?

It's usually not a move that is really seen much because it gets like no good abusers, but i think Cresceidon would actually be a great one as basically being able to switch into stuff you outspeed is basically what you need to be a good user of the move: copying recovery, hazards, pivot, spin etc from your opponent are probably the most obvious use cases but it's definitively not limited to that as this move has one million possible applications and rewards creative play very well as well and can be a surprisingly decent midground move as well. Also if you are wondering: no, phazing moves are not callable by copycat.

Again i don't know anything about CAP so i'm not pretending to know if this would be a good idea lol - i don't even know if Cresc is planned to be reworked on or even how CAP reworks work in the first place - but i was curious to see what people would think about it so i figured i could just ask

I memory serves me right, the concept for Cresc is basically just a wall that is fast which imo is very precisely what you need to make good use of copycat

This was discussed during the movepool submissions.
However, it doesn't mean it can't happen in the future. It was considered niche and could enable weird strategies.
 
So the VR hasn't been updated after Shox's buff and Kitsunoh's nerf. How viable are they now

Reasonably speaking, Chuggalong is not doing anything in the TR MU. If you want tips for HO vs TR, it basically comes down to
  1. Offensive pressure to minimize number of TRs set
  2. Priority to pressure TR abusers (Ursa primarily)
  3. Focus Sash war (for both sides)
Usually, TR has 2-3 setters (Fidgit, Hatterene, Cresselia, Indeedee, Mimikyu) with Mental Herb or Focus Sash to force TR up. The first TR is almost unavoidable, and oftentimes they can force a second. If you are on offense, you cannot allow them to get a 3rd TR, or you almost surely lose.

Even though I don't rate it super highly on HO, Samu-H with sash is best anti-TR lead for HO. Setting Spikes breaks opposing sash on TR setters later in the game, and it pressures most of the setters off the bat. It also has priority to poke Ursaluna, which is very nice.

HO has options for priority between Revenankh, Hemogoblin, Kingambit, Dragonite (maybe Scizor). Reasonably speaking, Rev is the best option for hitting Ursaluna. Dragonite is notable for being able to tank a hit (not +2) from Ursa and trading damage. Of course, Indeedee invalidates priority as counterplay, but Dragonite has Ice Spinner if you decide to use it.

Finally, having a Focus Sash on a random sweeper will swing the game heavily in the TR matchup. If you can tank a hit with sash and kill Ursaluna, the game suddenly becomes much easier. Who is the best sash user? I don't know, maybe Ceruledge or something (use SD CC Bitter Sneak/Polt).

Reasonably speaking, Samu-H + Sash Ceru + Prio is as much as I'd commit to vs. TR. It's not worth dumpstering other MUs just for this one.


A different path may be Rillaboom Gterrain offense with Chuggalong. This is better vs Psyterrain variants probably.

You can try replacing Latias with Chuggalong on this build, I haven't thought about it much though so maybe it doesn't work.
