Claimed Bouncer to me, but I investigated them N1 and their pool is Escort/Transporter/Consort/Hypnotist/Investigator/Consigliere/Tracker. This cannot be Disguised due to N1 and is also not the Framer pool. Furthermore, they claimed to target Alice tonight, who got swapped with Miyami, and Miyami received the message about being intimidated. However, Miyami claimed an idle action last night and thus could not have received this message due to a Bouncer or Scareceow. This leads me to believe AG is the Mafia Hypnotist. Even if you consider that Miyami could be lying, my own results indicate that AG was lying anyways

well, while the thread is open, can I ask if custom setups are allowed on here? I have some ideas.
yeah, post it in Game Proposals and if a mod/checker approves it you'll be put in the queue
We’ll also give feedback on the design and help refine it so you don’t have to have it perfect when you post it, fwiw. Idk what your experience is with hosting mafia before but if I’m your advisor you’ll get to hear some unfiltered mad ramblings from me on discord as I look over the game which I’ve been told are acc quite educational and useful :boi:
 
ah, good to know. I'll probably skip open contact games then, my brain likes having everything available to reread later and not hidden in dms
I was rereading and noticed this comment. I'm my opinion open contact games have a different charm. There are some with way bigger amount of players and different teams, recruitment, multiple mafias or other things like that. There was even a cool one where you could go to temples to find items you can use at night. They are completely different games, the average OC is not like the one we are playing right now.

It can have the team leader / town leader problem like we are having here but normally the setups are more prepared for that scenario to not feel too annoying and players can form groups which is better than the whisper mechanic in that regard.
 
I, for one, found temple mafia fun despite being destroyed - good mafia games should let you have fun even when losing and/or give you a chace to come back
I, for one, found temple mafia to be the worst game of my life - my role was so terrible I ended up contributing nothing and never managed to get cleaned and conftowned to towncore.
 
I feel like every game I've played in the last year is just uber complicated I guess partly I'm just growing old and no free time but like I just want to be a vanilla town and play a normal NOC and not have to guess what setup I'm playing out of 10 with roles doing crazy things that I can't figure out by just reading the name. even the OC games it's like I have to read through a document to figure out what's going on and I have like 5 bajillion abilities I have to pick between can I just be a rogue and target someone random at night!

oh well. it feels like circus is going through a bit of a lull in 2025 so I hope our flame doesn't die completely. I do enjoy playing games when I can...I guess it's nice having an outlet to ignore real world problems...

Yeah part of the mafia queue revamp is intended to increase the number of basic / low power games

We had a situation where a lot of complex games were right after each other in the queue, whereas moving to a cycle system we can intentionally choose games that are low power and/or less based around mech solving

Nothing against the high power games that have run they’ve still been good, it’s just that they’re even better when surrounded with variety
