(Ignore the stats after Elo)
After reaching a decent Elo on an alt account I thought I'd post the team and its success. The team revolves around a psychically offensive core between Kingambit and Ogrepon-Wellspring. The reason I chose to build around these two, (besides the cool aesthetic), was how they often served the same role of clicking SD and killing several people after. They also form a very potent offensive core that allows for a good center around pivoting, something this team does very well. Gambit can be sent in to set up or counter a ghost, psychic, or fairy type while Pon can be sent in to counter the ground types Gambit doesn't want to deal with.

Kingambit (M) @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Low Kick

The obvious truth behind using Gambit is that it is good. Very good. Given a Shuca Berry, Gambit can counter and often eliminate it's biggest threats. Do look out for Zamazenta though. Landorus, Great Tusk, and Garchomp each get nailed by the combo of Knock off and Low Kick while holding this berry. Low Kick is better than Iron Head, for the most part, because it gives Gambit a tool for an easier time dealing with Ting-Lu, Roaring Moon, and opposing Gambit. And do scout for Close Combat from Tusk of course. The primary goal with Gambit on this team in particular is to wait until those ground types and fighting types are dead or chipped to a point. Afterward let Gambit do its job.

1746952527433.png

Ogerpon-Wellspring (F) @ Wellspring Mask
Ability: Water Absorb
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Ivy Cudgel
- Power Whip
- Superpower

Pon, like Gambit, is another amazing wall breaker/sweeper, that also pairs well at opening holes in the opponents team that Gambit can then exploit. Landorus, Ferrothorn, Garganacl, Great Tusk, Garchomp, and even Tapu Lele, to name a few. Superpower is necessary to beat Ferro and Melmetal. Powerwhip is important over Horn Leech as the damage output from it reaches 144 from the Mask. This is more important than health recovery for this team.

1746975695535.png

Hatterene @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Bounce
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Psychic
EVs: 212 HP / 216 Def / 80 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Psychic Noise
- Draining Kiss
- Mystical Fire

I chose Hatterene as the first hazard control option for the team. Besides having Magic Bounce, which is amazing for this team, Rene also provides the team with another terrifying set up sweeper. This mon, like another on this team, does not get enough respect for what it can do. Rene beats so many Pokemon in this tier. Great Tusk, Roaring Moon, Corviknight, Treads(without steel beam), Ferrothorn, and so on. The primary goal for Rene on this team is to block these Pokemon and hopefully set up with a Calm Mind, do some damage, then get out into a pivoter. The speed is primarily for Melmetal. Outspeed, hope you are at +2, and get some hefty damage off.

1746976281753.png

Garchomp (M) @ DragoniumZ
Ability: Rough Skin
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Stealth Rock

Garchomp is the honorary hazard setter of the team. Rocks are important, especially to deal with Zard-Y, and SD + Z Outrage can nail something early game taking off the census. Chomp is self explanatory, although it is worth saying that it is a crucial Ground type for this team and also acts as a switch in to Heatran, Zard, Zapdos, and so on, when other mons are no longer available for this role. This is very crucial in keeping up momentum. This team is all about momentum. Chomp's unique typing is mandatory for this team's synergy. (Or at least it has been for me.)

1746976732563.png

Corviknight (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Pressure
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type:
Flying
EVs: 248 HP / 228 Def / 32 SpD
Impish Nature
-
Brave Bird
-
U-turn
- Defog
-
Roost

Corviknight provides another needed typing to this team, Flying. It also provides the team with its first pivoter. U-Turn, of course, allows for Corv to switch out after countering an Earthquake or something similar. I chose Brave Bird as Urshifu is a thing, a scary thing, and it also allowed for a slightly decent soft-check to Zama. At least to deal a little damage first. Besides that, Corv is here to be a reliable switch in and sponge for attacks the sweepers do not want to take. It also gets rid of hazards as long as Cheese Stick man ain't around.
1746977077012.png

Alomomola (F) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type:
Water
EVs: 156 HP / 104 Def / 248 SpD
Careful Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
-
Flip Turn
- Mirror Coat
-
Play Rough
- Knock Off
And now for the star of this team, the most hilarious mon in this tier, Alomomola. This Fish just said it wanted to be good and did it. Now it is one of the best mons in the OU tier. AV seems insane at first, however, with a little context it actually makes sense for this Pokemon. Flip Turn provides the needed second pivoting move, Mirror Coat acts as a nuke for unsuspecting Pokemon like Raging Bolt, Zapdos, Tapu Koko and anything using a special move on Mola that will deal more than 50% of its HP. This can eliminate several special attackers within one game as it heals every time it is used to pivot. It does not rely on recovery moves like Corv does. Pairing these two togther, Corv and Mola, works well too since Mola aids with Corv's weakness to Fire and the AV helps, once again, against Zard-Y. Play Rough is to deal chip damage to certain mons and also make it slightly less of a pain to fight Roaring Moon. Knock Off is just Knock Off.
Feel free to critique the shit out of this team. It is a little odd in comparison to most of the standard teams provided for this met, although it has also proven very successful. One thing to mention about Mola with Mirror Coat is that once someone is aware of it the effect wears off. People, most of the time, will then avoid hitting Mola with any special attacks that they don't believe will result in a Knock Out. (I recommend having your own calcs to see this for yourself.)

Threat List:
1746977734366.png

Zamazena is a massive threat, in fact, it is the one mon I hate seeing more than any other. Sure Rene counters it, however, not if it has a Heavy Slam waiting for Rene on the switch. Then you must rely on Corv and that is not enough. My only suggestion is to figure out what kind of Zama it is first, then react to it with this knowledge. Too many banded Zamas in this tier.
1746977899602.png

Tapu Lele is another large issue for this team. Mostly the psychic terrain, honestly, as this makes it hard for Gambit to set up as long as Lele is in the back. Additionally, specs Lele nukes Mola with Psyschock and becomes hard to deal with once Rene is weakened or out of the game. Best suggestion, find out of it is Scarf or not as early as possible and see if Chomp can freely use rocks baiting Lele in. If you know it isn't Scarfed you can get an EQ off which is often a fair trade. As long as Chomp isn't needed for anything else.
1746978204083.png

Stall, although not the best archetype anymore, can still be extremely problematic once Rene is gone. Psychic Noise practically beats stall outright, however, Chansey and Blissey make this impossible until dealt with. Just keep Rene safe until the special wall is dealt with. Then let Rene win.

(Kartana also sucks to see)

PEAK #4 GROUNDIUM Z LANDORUS-T + CHARCOAL BLAZIKEN HO
:sv/landorus-therian: :sv/diancie-mega: :sv/blaziken: :sv/gholdengo: :sv/roaring-moon: :sv/ogerpon-wellspring:
have you(a lonely national dex foreverstuck 1500 BUM) been looking for a hyper offense team to use in these trying times? well don’t worry i gotchu covered.
:landorus-therian: the extreme overuse of moltres/corviknight on ladder perked my interest in an sd lando set that could take advantage of these passive checks and both wallbreak and run away with the game due to rock polish. groundium z is just a general nuke in every bulky target, when boosted ohkoing full pdef mola, pon, and tinglu. rock polish allows u to cheese endgames and sweep against otherwise rkillers like val
:diancie-mega: incredibly broken and standard lead, sets rocks up on everything bar ep terap, offsciz, and treads and is able to nuke 90% on any mon on ur opps team. crucial fairy type for the occasional kommo-o, and very useful for stall
:blaziken: this chicken is not only sick as fuck but is also really strong due to protect curbing the negatives of adamant slightly. with charcoal and the boosting nature, boosted flare blitz can straight up OHKO gliscor, zapdos, and tusk from full while also doing generally more damage versus gking, hatt, other annoyances etc. great sweeping potential as well obviously, and also benefits from lando occasionally nuking its checks in alo and hurricane moltres
:gholdengo: crucial for HO, spinblocks to keep rocks up which can be important for making KOs versus lando and alo easier. steel typing helps us versus lele primarily, and balloon just generally helps for a multitude of opponents such as dnite. psyshock here with the lando z and mdia makes the matchup for stall nearly unwinnable
:roaring-moon: while speed booster seems unviable, it’s actually incredibly helpful in curbing the matchup versus a lot of threats such as +1 kommo, val, and lop which can very easily get out of hand. typing checks chary and pon, which is very important, and the utility with knock off is of course appreciated as well.
:ogerpon-wellspring: pretty much self explanatory, this mon is bonkers broken and acts as our water type stopgap for rain abusers and choice locked shifus. stupid ass mon but it stops (av) alo so it’s good enough for me here

u autolose to id crunch zama and dnite btw

Here again with another teamdump of the stuff I had built during the limbo period of pult ban to ndwc and the period of metagame developments when ndwc actually happened. Not in any important nd tours at the moment so I might as well share most of my stuff I have now.

These teams don’t have sprites because I’m lazy but if I have time I will put them.

https://pokepast.es/20abef77542925f2
This was my first build during pult ban and it really shows the kinds of limitations that were freed when pult left the tier. The idea is to use specs lele to break early with multiple pivots to bring it in on defensive teams while having serp / lop clean against certain balance and offense builds.

https://pokepast.es/d827beedc7182770
Mmaw is one of my personal favorite mons to pilot in pretty much any gen so I wanted to use it again because my last Mmaw team had pult. I ultimately decided to take one of my old Tera meta sample teams with maw and remake it with Pecharunt as it was gaining in usage and fit the team nicely as it’s an excellent partner with Mmaw. Pivot / synthesis ogerpon is also an option if you so wish; I just liked the more consistent win condition vs. gliscor builds.

https://pokepast.es/21f5c8793a5721c0
I wanted to bust out some really stupid cheese when laddering and I built this when I was trying out Mmaw. It farms all the bad balances u see on ladder because thundt is a threat that isn’t usually prepped for, and its main check in ting lu gives opportunity for Mmaw to come in.

https://pokepast.es/7af1add68bc85888
I saw this really cool victini hstack team in ssou and wanted to take a spin on it with spikes Gliscor. Koko victini is a great offensive core and it’s backed up by a solid defensive backbone that covers most of the metagame and relies on hazards to chip threats to balance like ogerpon and Kingambit. This is easier to do when victini threatens out other annoying steels like ferro and Gholdengo so spikes chip beats them easier long term.

https://pokepast.es/3c96019ccfc17668
One of my good friends Iride gave me the idea for a fat cteam (this is not a true fullproof fat cteam like the paste says that’s just where I got the idea from) and I got the idea to build some sweaty lele ogerpon Gliscor build. The main win condition is not clear since there’s no setup but it’s basically to use spikes Gliscor and knock ogerpon in combination with fsight lele to break open teams, and the core of offensive tusk + fsight is hard to contend with.

https://pokepast.es/609c8b13fb7c19e3
I built this with Lameflame as I had little to no fat in my builder and I wanted some more variety in options for some smaller tours I was in. The idea is a clef celes pex core that uses spikes Gliscor to force progress against opposing balance. Cm z bolt was something I didn’t think of when making the team but it’s actually nice at forcing out / outright koing Gliscor and other stuff as a threatening win condition. I used this in Istt vs. ryuji and won.

https://pokepast.es/f3ae77072f8b1149
Standard oras inspired ogerpon build that uses tornt + lop + clef to help vs. various offensive threats.

https://pokepast.es/c6b5b8507ba47d88
This is a team centered around Primarina and using spikes chip + z bolt to overwhelm checks such as pex and ferro and uses constant pivoting from lop / Primarina to force more constant switches to rack up spikes chip.

https://pokepast.es/4f74542df90c80f7
I ripped this entire six from an oras squad I saw lol but even so heracross is an interesting pokemon as it’s able to break open certain balance teams with support from Mola and spikes along with other balance breakers like z chomp. It also helps trade vs. certain threats like Kingambit certain Garchomp sets and unboosted waterpon. Band Weav is used here to trap threats like Gholdengo, yard, and ogerpon if it does end up getting the boost.

https://pokepast.es/0004cbf06667b83d
This was a period where I tried getting more creative with how I was building. I wanted to use z celebrate victini at first but then that gave me the idea to try out other z crystals on tini and I realized that v create had the strongest z move in the game which I was appealed by. With power up punch to act as a setup win condition against bo teams this thing can actually cause some damage to stuff like Lando tusk and Gliscor. The idea is to overwhelm physical attacker checks with victini so Mmedi and scarf kart can clean later.

https://pokepast.es/37ccfe9ebadf2bfd
I saw people like adriyun and I think suzukaaa in seasonal use Bascu female and I was inspired. The Mon is actually not thatttt bad as it can easily dismantle balance cores with ghost z + sub and a water typing which helps vs. grounds / fires unlike Ghold. Tect sd Gliscor is used because initially the team was too weak to knock off however I do think roost is better on sd sets.

https://pokepast.es/91a228efff6b50c9
This is another oras inspired team that tries to use the offensive core of victini and mdia and have a good defensive backbone alongside it. Mola with stuff like victini and Diancie is good because it shifts momentum against offense in your favor and pivots them in against threats like ferro and tornt. Elec z cm clef is primarily for Toxapex and to act as a win condition.

https://pokepast.es/fd6ab547ff4de590
I think I remember this team being ass but I don’t remember what the primary issue was. The idea was pads shifu + dia + bolt being a good offensive core for more balanced / bo stuff and I wanted to try sd shifu in post pult land.

https://pokepast.es/9718cd595a591295
Another build that was inspired by Iride and the idea is bulky gallade can easily take on hex Ghold balance builds in Fini terrain due to having knock off and the neccessary bulk to take on hexes somewhat comfortably (not ghost z tho but you can bait that in). It also has sd and more bulk than Mmedi which is what makes it appealing as a trader and balance breaker. And to capitalize on gallade trading with birds and z-less (or burnt z) Gholdengo we got the evil serp Subseed set.

https://pokepast.es/0062c42c65ee280d
A balance based on sm teams, not much to note here but it’s an ok team.

https://pokepast.es/ce910e83498da580
This is one of my favorite teams I’ve built recently as it’s a bo team with a defined defensive core in double regen + spdef lando but also has the ability to dish out strong hits with lele / z Kommo o / Melmetal. The status on melm can be changed to toxic but I liked twave to be better against offense squads and paraflinch is never not annoying.

https://pokepast.es/97881496d5684dac
A bit of an awkward build but xard + ogerpon + taunt lando + lele breaks any defensive core out there. The plan is to just be aggressive and not let too many hazards stack up since you have limited removal in scarf kart, but it should be manageable with ur offensive tools.

https://pokepast.es/72b8304940ad2540
I haven’t used pagos / Scizor much up until this point so I wanted to use both and np tornt felt like a natural pick to farm balance builds that annoyed Scizor so it felt like a natural pick. The rest of the team is relatively standard. This was the first team I was prepping to use vs. oculars in mspl as it’s just anti cheese and he had no rocks which would’ve meant np tornt did amazing but I never used it when it prob would’ve farmed. Thanks Sami.

https://pokepast.es/70f8daec98714107
This is the team I actually ended up using. The squad itself is based on sm offenses because Sami suggested to use Fini and I didn’t know a direction to take with the mon without going with an exploitable balance build. The team itself went through a ton of variations and was tested a lot and actually did decent in such tests despite me being an idiot however I loaded into a horrible matchup in the game as the one thing the team auto loses to is Venusaur.

https://pokepast.es/8a7e9102f32a507a
This team is just a standard Diancie balance that funny enough omar also apparently built on his own as well, but the main difference that I saw in our versions is that his is spikes Gliscor while mine is sd, and both work well.

https://pokepast.es/6890f8de233952c0
Blacephalon was one of my fav mons to pilot in Tera meta and with pult gone I wanted to experiment with some ghost types so I wanted to give it another shot. I decided on a firespam core that is similar to the z victini team except in reverse in that it uses 2 main big special breakers so a special attacking scarfer can clean the game against offensive stuff.

https://pokepast.es/a10b0ab85ee5d8a2
This is a hsam clef ferro balance that uses 2 main offensive breakers in hsam / latios and then puts on pressure against other teams long term with spikes. Teams like this are some of my favorite to build as I’m a fan of spikes balance with scarf Lando.

https://pokepast.es/bc0d4ae9b50797d7
Funny turtle trick room. The EVs are optimized for extremely specific scenarios and are not good but if you want to cheese some parts of the ladder then this team is ok. Specs turtle actually hits pretty hard allowing it to trade with some important threats. If anything comes from this build it’s that I think hsam actually has a decent amount of potential on trick room.

https://pokepast.es/88124117de49259d
Standard offense that uses shuca Ghold to trade with annoying ground types like Garchomp and great tusk while also nuking other random stuff that may try to click eq vs. Ghold. Synth Oger is used for a bit better tusk matchup along with shuca Ghold.

https://pokepast.es/1fe43faa4bd14bb1
Another attempt at shuca Ghold but this time with a semi psyspam core with Hawlucha.

https://pokepast.es/122432da2d31455e
I wanted to try Nidoking and this build attempts to fix some of its issues. First we got a ferro / tran / Zapdos core which helps Nidoking out with common rkillers like zama lop shifu waterpon and lele. Then the offensive core in shifu / lele supports nido in different ways; for example, shifu pivots in nido on pex, Clefable, and Gholdengo against offense which makes nido get some mileage against the structure. Lele baits in steel types like Gholdengo and Ferrothorn so Nidoking can double in and wreck havoc.

https://pokepast.es/c344fe1ba4bba065
An oras inspired build that uses the combo of Diancie + fsight to completely overwhelm balance cores with pex and Gliscor. This is furthered by the fact most steels and darks or even spdef walls usually don’t want anything to do with Diancie.

https://pokepast.es/a05e2073d8f094fe
I was testing Lorb clef as it’s a very solid balance breaker in general and I thought that using it on fat would be good since offensive clef has minimal defensive utility, so stuff like Skarm / pex / lu can shore it up on that end. Skarm is a nice fit since it ends up setting spikes and reliably checking a ton of the physical attackers clef is normally tasked with checking. This team is particularly nice because you can play relatively aggressively with it despite being a fat team.

https://pokepast.es/6928fb904fe5e5e4
I was helping arty prep for istt and we wanted to try iron defense Zamazenta with ttar support but I ended up diverging and made a whole different sand build and kept it because I had 0 good ttar teams / sand in my builder. The squad is a relatively simple with the squad having a defensive core in ferro Gliscor Slowbro that shores up ttar’s defensive shortcomings, with ace acting as hazard control and zama giving offensive pressure, speed control, and a check to threats like ogerpon and Kingambit.

https://pokepast.es/b5702fc2e04cce7d
This team is very visually appealing and it looked ok when I tested it. It’s a pretty standard victini balance like the ones before but this time it has tricky Barb clef to annoy defensive staples like Gliscor, Toxapex, and gking.

https://pokepast.es/d90c570c895a8d05
Offensive cinderace is actually a really potent wallbreaker as most water resists are not prepped for its coverage options + uturn. It’s supported by spikes Gliscor to help it force progress easier and ice beam mtios which helps lure in ground types like Gliscor some Lando variants and Garchomp and in general is just a solid tech to use.

https://pokepast.es/35a45f038dd52fd2
Classic psyspam with band weavile to trap certain offensive threats that could pose issues to the team. Tapu lele and mtios help overwhelm psychic type resists pretty consistently. For example, mtios can click mfire vs. gholdengo and Ferrothorn while Tapu lele lures in heatran and weakens gking for mtios.

https://pokepast.es/ec2c6410bfee6be0
This team is kinda slow but between twave Ghold, dnite, and multiple mid speed breakers (including ace which is faster than Val and pon) I thought it was fine. Sub dnite is good to beat balance builds easier and synth ogerpon makes the mu vs. ground types much better.

https://pokepast.es/a118db5a80e18656
I wanted to use kartana so I stole some ssou build and tweaked it. Scarf shifu helps kart vs. offense and defensive pokemon like tran, Zapdos, and clef all shore up its weaknesses vs. revenge killers, while in return kart acts as a balance breaker that’s also immune to toxic and has z moves to overwhelm physical walls for chomp and shifu which is valuable on this team.

https://pokepast.es/33f2dc36d5d3a394
This is another take on a celes fat as I think the Mon gets more and more merit by the day. It’s a similar idea to the last team although we now have tspike pex and dnite to help vs. ho teams and be safer into threats like ogerpon. Koko was chosen as a solid check to np tornt / Zapdos while also being speed control and outright threatening bulky waters. This was one of the teams I prepped for my second game of mspl.

https://pokepast.es/940ab374e885bba9
This is another one of my favorite squads that I actually used in mspl. This team is able to play pretty smoothly if you can gain momentum through your pivots and bring in your breakers easily. Booster dd moon was also becoming rlly good to me at the moment so it was a good chance to try it out. Unfortunately in the actual game I played like fucking shit when the team itself was pretty solid.

https://pokepast.es/791e117cb6b5489b
After that loss I was kinda demotivated so I just started building random garbage I saw in other tours. However this was one of the better builds being a hazard stacking balance team with sd Gliscor and kyurem which makes the balance mu pretty good along with clef.

https://pokepast.es/c66dd830b7bd78cb
This is an example of that random garbage I mentioned although it’s actually not that bad. Dtail bulky dnite is actually pretty solid vs a good amount of the metagame and against ho in particular. The rest of the team is just standard balance stuff. The lines vs. physical attackers like Lopunny / zama is a little hard but it’s basically try to use dtail espeed dnite + Volc + your own Zama and pray vs. opposing Zama.

https://pokepast.es/169a8ee6a0817385
I wanted to try Diancie sand. Kart + Diancie is already a good offensive core and I wanted to support it with a defensive core on sand. Hippo is here for sand obviously but it also checks stuff like Diancie and Koko. Kart is the win condition here because it is able to act as a win condition against gliscor balance if piloted correctly.

https://pokepast.es/004eac5017842daa
This was an attribute team (I think?) that I ripped from svou and it does pretty well here still. The highlight is tornt helping you gain momentum for your breakers and against most playstyles in general.

https://pokepast.es/2c36238e514c4359
I realized I had 100% ferro tran usage for my steel types so I wanted to use some different steels this time around in iron treads and scarf Gholdengo which both fit this balance build nicely. There’s also another elec z clef to break pex balance just like before.

https://pokepast.es/896b978f10093294
Offensive tornt is a pretty cool set especially as a fogger on these kinds of balance builds.

https://pokepast.es/9a688e324cbba1fa
This team is very cheesy but it’s basically an ho with double ghosts which insures hazards vs. offense and some bo teams if you play well.

https://pokepast.es/4d9a77e0966a06de
I wanted to try band hoopa because the dopamine when you load it into a good mu is unreal and it seemed fun to pilot with lop support. Clefable and scarf Lando round out the team as a physical attacker check to threats like lop and zama and moon while scarf Lando gives another way of outpacing offensive threats.

https://pokepast.es/5402e1df6b1b2802
Offensive Rotom wash is an old gen tech but it can still surprise some bulky offense teams in the current meta, and besides that it’s a pretty standard dnite balance.

https://pokepast.es/02ccaede2b26bada
MONO MOON.

https://pokepast.es/aa31079a6c907ba8
Pretty much the same as the hoopa team but with Slowbro > hoopa which is probably more consistent.

https://pokepast.es/f6419a657236ec60
I wanted to take the spikes + clef balances I liked so much and use dnite on them which helps out with a variety of offensive threats in the tier that can overwhelm such balance teams and helps vs. ho.

https://pokepast.es/c99bbf006c0d84fb
Standard koko balance that adds removal in great tusk to not be worn down by hazards like spikes + knock off and Kingambit which is something a lot of my balances that try to ignore hazards and stack their own to pressure offensive threats are potentially weak to.

https://pokepast.es/cb5204e9624b4d31
Standard balance with a shifu + mtios offensive core and a standard defensive core of clef Ghold chomp tornt.

https://pokepast.es/4b95cc3cb2751e2f
A hazard stacking balance that’s pretty similar to my other hazard stacks but has multiple speed control options to outpace various offensive threats to balance.

https://pokepast.es/fad628d9cfde6897
This balance is somewhat passive but it gives you all the tools you need to win games with the hstack + knock clef / torn core and a breaker and win condition in ogerpon to beat Gliscor pex builds easier.

https://pokepast.es/629bce31475957bc
I wanted to try iron crown because it’s an interesting offensive pivot in terrain and has good tools such as volt switch, strong steel stab without drawback, and psychic noise. The team is somewhat weak to special attackers, but you could solve this by making Moltres spdef or even making Koko calm mind.

https://pokepast.es/bb744b455caaef76
I wanted to use a mmedi + Mola + pagos core since pagos helps vs. gholdengo and spins spikes and Mola gains infinite momentum on a ton of defensive staples for mmedi.

https://pokepast.es/dd7ff075166accaa
I wanted to use buzzwole but I didn’t know how to really build it so I just took inspiration from some sm teams and buzzwole worked like a charm on the squad.

https://pokepast.es/5182b945de4bd7aa
Funny thing about this build was that it is a team that I actually voluntarily slotted Mmaw instead of building around it which was interesting. When I started using the team though I wanted a bulkier dnite that could also handle Gholdengo so I decided to use this LBN dnite set he posted a while back and decided to use heal bell on it as well to heal Mmaw from status effects.

https://pokepast.es/86a81f343130246f
I was inspired by some nd aaa builds and I decided to use some moon ferro Glisc pex balance with scarf lele as a great speed control option that also puts on offensive pressure on pex while giving fsight support. The Corv item / spread is variable on this team but I chose rhelm to not be too passive vs. certain uturn mons like taunt lando.

https://pokepast.es/86de2b07f764950e
I wanted to use Venusaur + Terapagos and I built a team that would greatly appreciate their support, as the main breaker in lele likes spikes being removed by pagos and revenge killers like shifu hslam zama and waterpon being checked by Venusaur (and Slowbro too!).

https://pokepast.es/3ee3237bb6494015
This team tries to maintain momentum vs. offense with scarf lele + Mola, with hstack + dnite and Mola’s longevity being the main way of winning vs. bulkier teams.

https://pokepast.es/76dd6d57d90d65e0
I got cooked in ou stour by chansey and lulu who used a cool Garg Ghold tornt pon bo vs. me so I wanted to take a spin on such structures. Garg is here because it checks flying types and tox tran while also setting rocks and being extremely annoying to offense and some ferro bos with salt cure.

https://pokepast.es/c68864dac45b1f13
Another sv ou inspired hstack squad with sd Gliscor + hisui Samurott to force progress. Gholdengo can probably be mir but I chose twave focus blast for the Terapagos matchup.

https://pokepast.es/8df7f335876a3f7f
I wanted to try offensive ace again and I like av gking atm so I wanted to use ace with gking’s fsight support, with scarf Ghold to also act as speed control and explains the av gking as it helps check fairy types much easier.

https://pokepast.es/dce0e4d43177426e
Standard bo team that uses gking and ogerpon to gain continuous momentum vs. balance while gking also supports pon in breaking down checks like Pecharunt, bolt, pex, and Venusaur with fsight.

https://pokepast.es/b4f7a9c12d6d0791
I wanted to build some ho that wasn’t just bad so I built this which is good in overwhelming a ton of defensive cores atm. The lack of speed control is noticeable, but that’s generally solved by the multitude of speed boosting sweepers and dnite. Even then you could try speed booster moon if you wanted however I think attack booster is generally almost always better.

This period was kinda where I wasn’t really prepping for actually real nd tours and even in the tours I was in I did not really do well at all, however I did learn a lot about building in this time in general and I learnt a lot about what my favorite styles to build a pilot are as well as ways to try and build creatively around certain problems with certain Pokemon. Cya’ll later

DUAL IRONPRESS MEGA SLOWBRO SEMISTALL

First time posting a team, here I've got one that has carried me way too high on the ladder. You could probably rework this team to a more balanced or offensive version but I made it stall cause thats what I like playing :)
slowbro-mega.gif

pete burns (Slowbro-Mega) @ Slowbronite
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Body Press
- Iron Defense
- Amnesia
- Rest

The star of this team. Shell armor makes slowbro one of the best defensive sweepers since without crits, very few things can break through a +6 Def SpDef slowbro, while it's not too difficult to get to that point. Even at only +2 you're able to beat attackers like raging bolt or kartana if they try switching in. And boosted body press hits insanely hard, with even quad resists like lele getting 2HKOd at +6. Rest is used over slack off mainly for the status immunity, since toxic would otherwise ruin this set. This set can win so many games on the spot if you come in at the right time, it's honestly incredible.

corviknight.gif

Corviknight @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Body Press
- Iron Defense
- Defog
- Roost

While Slowbro is a great sweeper, because it relies on rest, it's not super great at switching into other sweepers. Corviknight is a much better option for these situations, being able to handly most physical sweepers just fine. Besides that, it does standard corv things, defogging and sitting on spinners/u turns with rocky helmet.

weavile.gif

Weavile @ Choice Band
Ability: Pickpocket
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Triple Axel
- Pursuit
- Ice Shard

Given how this team has 2 mons (3 if you count blissey) that can't touch ghost types at all, a strong pursuit user is an absolute necessity. Banded Weavile is a good option for this and also a generally nice revenge killer for threats this team can't handle well.

alomomola.gif

Alomomola @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Flip Turn
- Toxic
- Wish
- Protect

Fish, critical for bringing weavile/slowbro in safely and keeping them healthy with wish. Also pretty good as a toxic staller if thats what you gotta do.

gliscor.gif

brian giggly (Gliscor) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Spikes
- Knock Off
- Roost

The immortal. Sets spikes and acts as a good mixed wall, and really the only one on this team besides a boosted slowbro. Knock off is preferred to toxic since having weavile as your only knocker can make it really tough to break a lot of defensive cores, especially against pex. That being said, toxic is def a valid option, especially if setup sweepers are still giving you trouble

blissey.gif

Blissey (F) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Natural Cure
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock
- Soft-Boiled

The wall, does exactly what you'd expect it to. Sits on special attackers, sets rocks, occasionally toxic something, and clicks seismic toss a lot.
ogerpon-wellspring.png

Specifically SD sets are trouble when you don't have boosted slowbro, if you can get an early toxic it can be managed but you usually need to just sack something and bring in weavile.

shuckle.gif
gholdengo.png

Webs is usually manageable, gholdengo is usually manageable, but both together can cause a lot of issues, especially if they have air balloon. If you can win with glis that great, if not its kinda just gg.

sableye-mega.gif

This mon screws over a lot of stall structures and this one is especially bad. Its hard to get weavile in safely and even if you can, they can just switch out since pursuit doesnt do much. Best strat is usually to try and burn through recovery with gliscor, and if you can't do that there isn't much you can do

dropping a few teams i think could still be good. besides today havent played ndou in weeks maybe longer so i might be unaware of any recent developments. inspo for all these teams comes straight from the soul, nothing else. all but 1 of these were built on a whim right before this post, lets go! (coming soon oops lol)

https://pokepast.es/ab30961ea40627a8 this team is def not worth posting for iteself but wanted to shout off zap which is something I hadnt seen many people use during WC. The team itself was supposed to be some kind of paraspam but i just gave up half way and threw on some shit cuz I was tired.

https://pokepast.es/ee11a8a231834e88 pretty hit or miss, leech protect did a lot better than i thought. cb gambit is pretty incredible ive always been a fan, keldeo appreciates gambits ability to trap/knock stuff like mola, gking. both strong breakers supported by a defensive core that can keep up the momentum, sometimes i wish this team had rocks on landorus.

https://pokepast.es/d8d0cf04a9c9e42b every team i use with spikes glisc feels winnable. this team struggles a lot trying to maneuver around wellspring. have to pivot dengo in on whip and keep spikes up, or toxic with gliscor while it can still live 1 cudgel.
https://pokepast.es/530682f7bd9cee59 idea was to trick mola and setup tspike. granted probably easier to just knock it lol. v create dmg surprised me how capable of a rkiller this thing is. could see myself building with it again in the future on offense. https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9nationaldex-2375699972-0fbj22lolg8m4a33hs73pjg9l4mflmbpw (forgot about endure lol)
https://pokepast.es/609c7547ae4a2c61 i asked for mon suggestions and dewfew said celebi. unfort i cant pretend this mon has a serious role anymore, maybe np was a better approach but not building again with bro for a long time in this tier. bolt + dengo pretty nice off core tho, maybe revisit and try to support that instead
https://pokepast.es/5e85c6bf90618c9d team is goobed by zama but sub thundy was a lotta fun to play with. definitely an interesting mon, it hits pretty hard so behind a sub it does excellent vs p much anything not blissey, gking or clod. also sub oppurtunities are pretty easy, stuff like ferro/lando/glisc and the fat waters. have to check flip turn calc.
https://pokepast.es/2fb8c9e866ec486d only team i used before tn. think cress is an incredible mon, scarf trick is fishy now with dengo in addition to everything that can block trick but standard def/spdef is good still. cress alone has some bad mus into pursuitters like gambit/tar, at least weavile clicking twave is more useful. this thing forces a lot of threats out like yard, lele, medi. unfort this team loses to kyurem but overall has had a pretty good mu spread.

not really suggesting anyone use these except maybe the cress one but felt like building after what feels like a long break from the tier. tried to get creative, hope yall find some inspiration to use in your own builds.

Big team dump post tera ban. Descriptions will be in the paste. If there were another contributer to the team, it will be within the paste. You know who you are. Teams marked for sample subs are easy to pick up and play.
possible pult replacements are in the team descriptions, unfortunately some of these are anchored by pult so their effectiveness will be tanked.

Sample Team Submission

https://pokepast.es/b45eab810a279069

This is s HStack bal team with a defensive dtail Dnite. The idea is to get up hazards with Lando and CEdge on a scarf Samo and block any form of removal with Gholdengo. I paired these hazards with a sub Volc and a Z Ground Terapegos for special attackers. For physical attackers I have the aforementioned scarf Samo which does good damage with stab Razor Shell. Lando can take physical attacks while Ghold can take special attacks. Dnite can also take attacks in a pinch. To stop sweepers you can use dtail on Dnite or Tera Shell with Z on Terapagos.

https://pokepast.es/2789b0b3e187b264
This is a Hyper offensive team using a lead Landorus to set stealth rocks. The main physical breakers are Hawlucha and Scizor both very prominent on the ladder paired with G terrain Rillaboom, to complete the core I used Raging bolt as Grassy terrain turns it into a menace This team is fairly easy to use and very consistent on the ladder. This team has a easy matchup against rain and can do solid against sun teams.

https://pokepast.es/3d0a0e0a68d471e4
This is a Volt turn Rain team that utilizes Mega scizor ferrothorn and tornadus to improve the matchup into rillaboom while also adding some extra support against matchup issues. Mega Swampert is not needed anymore for Rain because of barraskewda and Kingdra.
Optional substitutes would be Thundurus over Tornadus for Raging bolt if you feel the team is struggling.

Overall This team has done well on my ladder test and I recommend it to others. I will be uploading more teams later.

maybe psyshock on val cuz stall

Since there's no ladder tour discussion, figured I'd drop the teams I used to qualify here so enjoy

Easy to use psyspam, I actually built this for entrocefalo a couple months ago for seasonal but he used it elsewhere. P easy to use though, diancie/lele slowly chip threats for iron moth/teapot to clean up. Oger is your water immune and is able to knock boots off shit+u turn out of its answers. Easy and a little hard to use depending on match up.

Didn't really build this, this is a sealoo team with hoopa>ghold since I was too lazy to properly utilize it in a new build. Boots hoopa w these 4 moves really fucks up pex/clef/gliscor/mola teams if you use it right. Ngl I dont think this 6 is good but posted it since I used it my last 5 games.

Happy laddering!

I also believe my team deserves to be a sample. people are gaining 200 elo at the least from using this team + its peaked cycle twice 3 and 4. 1700s have also been caught using it. https://pokepast.es/786a4b63d5bc4490

If this doesn't become a sample it shows ND only cares about politics bc most of the samps don't even deserve to be seen.

Knowing that I am the sun enthusiast of this tier, you guys probably expect me to post something like this...
thisisultralord.png

However, knowing it's summer time, I decided to post a Snow team instead.

Now Snow isn't regarded as a super good playstyle, in fact it is among the worst in the game, right next to things like Trick Room and Psyspam. However, I had a solid run using a Snow team during the Roaring Moon suspect test (yeah, took me a while to post it), and I wanted to give some hope to the 5 snow enjoyers. Anyways, here is my team: https://pokepast.es/220a900aa765c11d
As you can see, this team pretty much plays like a poorman's Dual Screens, set the veil up, and get your sweepers in to get kills, if not, make progress so that an ally gets kills.

:cetitan:
A bit of a Hot Take, but this imo is better than :arctozolt:, not only does it have a more managable speed of 73 in comparison to Arctozolt's meager 55, but Ice/ Ground coverage is just as good as Ice/Electric. Now it doesn't get STAB on Eartquake, but it is still strong, especially considering that it's setup move is Belly Drum. Ice Shard provides Cetitan with some use after the Snow has run up, denying a good amount of revenge killing attempts. Cetitan is also decently bulky with Veil + Snow up, so it can ocassionally even come in on hits and potentially afford to Bdrum from that position.

:ninetales-alola:
Alolan Ninetales is here to provide both Snow for Cetitan, and Aurora Veil for the whole team. Snowscape is here primarly to deal with opposing weather teams, primarly Sun, as they can easily disrupt our Aurora Veil attempts. Encore puts setup mons in awkard spots, allowing the team to take advantage to either setup or kill the mon locked on Encore outright.

:Volcarona:
The mon that glues the team together. Volcarona is an icnredible assest to this team, With it Steel resistance, and Flame Body ability, it is a fantastic Mega Scizor punisher, of which can otherwise run this team over. I went for a bulky approach to not only let it matchup better into Mega Scizor, but also make the most of Veil. I also went Hidden Power Ground for another min that causes issues, Heatran.

:Gyarados-Mega:
Mega Gyarados finds a home in here not just to make the most of Veil, but also to break any stall teams that dare encounter this team. With Sub , Dragon Dance & Mold Breaker, it can dismantle most stall teams with ease. Intimidate pre-mega is also useful when facing non-stall teams, as it lowers the opponent's physical attack stats, making veil more useful, and its Subs more sturdy.

:Great Tusk:
Great Tusk does double duty in here being both a sweeper AND hazard control. With Proto Speed allowing to get the jump in on mons like Tapu Koko and Mega Diancie. Nothing here is too crazy, just good ol' Proto Speed Booster Tusk.

:Serperior:
The amount of games this thing has won me out of sheer Rng is astonishing. Glare + Sub is such a devastating combo, almost as infurriating as Gen 4 paraflich Jiarchi. It's also a Defog punisher, grabbing an evasion boost should the opponent dare clear our precious veil. Serperior is also good in the Webs matchup, as it would grab a +1 Speed from their own hazard. And when in doubt, just spam Leaf Storms.

Now even tho this was one of the teams I used for my Roaring Moon reqs, it wasn't the only one, but I wanted to highlight this team in particular. Anyways, here is the other team I used along the way:
https://pokepast.es/b4e09479c2a168c2
(Note: the Mega Charizard X was originally Roaring Moon, but its banned)
This team in particular also feels really good, and it was the team that got me the furthest, and also made me qualify for reqs.

Here are also some replays with these teams for context:
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9nationaldex-2380926916?p2

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9nationaldex-2380475765?p2

(Unfortunately, I didn't save my replays with the snow team during the moon reqs, my bad, but I can still provide a replay on my main to show how the team more or less plays).
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9nationaldex-2398181036-kp0tslumtlccekpek057bs7751473c9pw

Hopefully I get to post more teams in here that aren't just Scovillain sun.

Top 15 Ladder Team, Mega Latios + SD Cinderace and AV Zamazenta
The Team
1752440347628.png

This team has peaked at 1860 ELO, but I don't have the screenshot for that but I am currently at 1838 with it, and it is very reliable in most matchups barring a few weird mons like Skeledirge.

:latios-mega:
A cleaner and defensive piece, useful into Yard and Shifu. I alternated between ice beam, flip turn and aura sphere for the third attack, with all having their use cases. Not a very complicated mon or innovative set and just a simply solid ball of stats with good moves.

:zamazenta:
The zamazenta was initially protective pads to avoid rocky helm chip and random flame body/static, but the team kept losing to Volcarona and Gholdengo would get chipped down often so dealing with Lele and Ival was a problem. I initially tried boots and a bulky twave ghold set, but still wasn't a fan, and then I was playing some ORAS and saw AV Raikou on a few teams, and realized that it might work for Zama. with zero investment a +1 fiery dance only does roughly 43%, and even psychic or fire blast will never come close to koing even after a few rounds of spike damage. It can also tank a hit from specs Ival and scarf Lele in a pinch, and then KO with a heavy slam, which i always kept on the moveset and has other targets like Hatterene, Diancie and the semi uncommon Clefable. It is also surprisingly apt at switching into Kyurem a few times through the game, letting you scout its set. When I didn't have ice beam on the Latios, I had ice fang over crunch on this set for Gliscor and Landorus as well as a more reliable option to 2hko Tornt with instead of trying to land sedge twice. It greatly appreciates having the Mega Latios, with Luster Purge, Mystical Fire and a third attack of your choice being great for breaking through Zamazenta's counters and checks. while abusing Pex.

:gholdengo:
The Gholdengo is the team's fairy answer and preserves hazards from being removed, which Latios and Zamazenta rely on to break through their answers due to lack of boosting. I made the item shuca berry over air balloon or ghostium due to the fickle nature of using balloon, and the lack of defensive utility on ghostium. You can switch in on Tusk spin or ice spinner and they'll actually stay in, letting you get their spinner out of the way immediately. Bulky Tusk with quake is slower so you can make it rain twice, and offensive sets you will always live a hit if you're 60% or higher hp and can KO after the spdef drop from headlong. The berry also lets you switch in on mega diancie and stay out KO range easier, only having to worry about the noticeably weaker mystical fire compared to earth power and threatening an instant KO. It can also be useful for letting you pivot in on a defog landorus or iron treads much more safely, and then pivot out into Latios on a ground move. Shuca also has utility against HO teams, letting you tank a quake from dnite which is usually its only move it has to hit you and firing back with a make it rain to break multiscale for the Hamurott or finish it off from low health.
:samurott-hisui:
The Hamurott is the team's spike stacker and ghost/psychic switch in, using scarf to give the team some extra speed and have utility into slow sweepers, like Dragonite. It is also reinforces the team against Weavile, since Zama doesn't resist ice. Ceaseless and knock were on every set, stacking spikes and removing boots on crucial targets like Zapdos and Alomomola. I alternated between aqua cutter/razor shell and sacred sword/flip turn in the last two slots. I think the aqua + sacred is best personally, but can be changed to what you prefer.
:landorus-therian:
Landorus is Landorus, doing Landorus things. I like the fast bulky taunt set over the slow bulky toxic/hp ice set, since it denies hazards a lot more effectively, which is crucial because there is no removal or boots on this team and it relies on bluffing the Cinderace set to dissuade them and Landorus' taunt. This set also stops defog from occurring if you don't want Ghold to get pivoted on or take spikes damage.
:cinderace:
SD Cinderace is the linchpin that makes this team work, often able to grab at least 1 crucial KO to weaken defensive cores. Normal + fire/fighting coverage is near perfect, and its only walled by fire/ghost types and pecharunt. The surprise factor also goes a long way often having people just stay in with their Mola or Pex to take the normalium hit. You should always check your opponent's ELO and GXE as well as try to gauge their plays so you don't waste the z move into a ghost or steel type and then get walled by bulky water types. I chose this over Wogerpon due to actually having less common counters, since many fat and stall teams go out of their way to use mons like Tangrowth and Raging Bolt to counter it, as well as the speed tier, outspeeding Mega Latios, Diancie and Ogerpon as well as unboosted Ival. It also helps with the Mega Scizor matchup, since the only other fire move is Latios myst fire. It abuses protect Gliscor incredibly efficiently as well.

I helped my bro Kayzn in NDLT from r1 -> 3 and really liked some of the teams I ended up building that he used, so here's a quick teamdump with some explanations.

We mostly used offense which I believe is the best archetype in the tier despite all the people who claim balance is which I think is a dated take atp, there are so many options to use on offense and with crafty teambuilding you can get around these main defensive cores consistently

When building, I try to think more about in-game sequences than just matchups, such as a Blaziken + Kingambit combo that we planned to use 2x where Kingambit can usually knock helms on lando and such early game or mola boots to clear things up for Blaziken lategame. For anyone whos trying to improve their building, trying to think more in terms of whats actually going to happen in a battle is a simple but super helpful tip

Round 1 (vs Lameflame)

Against Lameflame my main objective was to cover HO & TR builds while giving Kayzn enough room to outplay anything in between; we tested all 3 of these extensively vs TR specifically and found it being nearly impossible for TR to win. With the more mu fishy stuff covered, I figured the bases of these teams could outplay most other things. Approaches that we favored were super disruptive archetypes w/ a healthy amount of taunt to achieve this goal as well as a priority-heavy anti-ho style

Taunt Pads Urshifu + Slowbro BO
(W) Click me for replay
:urshifu: :Slowbro: :heatran: :landorus-therian: :terapagos-terastal: :raging-bolt:
Simple structure that ive had a lot of experience working with, you can find this being used a while back in NDPL V Week 1 in Lily vs Mada which was also built by me. Have tried to remake it although without grasspon it just doesnt quite hit the same, but i think this is a solid modern version. A lot of LF's more balanced ting/gking/corv structures get ravaged by this urshifu, with taunt being super disruptive for TR mus. The rest of the team is a basic structure designed to support Urshifu with Heatran threatening pex and forcing tox onto mola while bolt can also take advantage of those teams pretty easily and clean up well. Slowbro is another easy choice with fsight support and basic physdef utility.

Hazard Stack HO (W) Click me for replay
:samurott-hisui: :garchomp: :landorus-therian: :serperior: :iron-valiant: :Gholdengo:
This team was a more modern take on a hstack that can play a more hybrid approach between offense and ho which i believe is optimal to maximize the outplay capability with hazards + knock instead of basic ho threat 6x structures which imo are not very good and suffer from inconsistency vs basic balances. This is heavily based on another team of mine ( :kingambit: :samurott-hisui: :serperior: :iron-valiant: :landorus-therian: :volcarona: ) but it opts for a Garchomp > Kingambit and a Gholdengo > Volcarona. The primary reason for this is that this version that we used is designed to play more offense-like than ho like this one with kingambit. This gives your opponent more chances to clear your hazards and you cant rely on pure pace/tempo to keep your hazards up, while Garchomp functions better as a midgame mon than Kingambit does by comparison. This team doesnt particularly prey on LF's scout, but i think it is a fundamentally good team that allows you to outplay your opponent in most cases and play your initiative.

As a quick aside, i think LF's team in this G2 is super cool. Perhaps there is some room for optimization, but its a super cool take on full sun in the modern meta, props to him and whoever assisted in building that.

As a bonus, here's what we had planned to use in the event of a G3 (mu wouldve been terrible LOL)

Blaziken Double Fire Offense
:blaziken: :iron-moth: :kingambit: :landorus-therian: :ogerpon-wellspring: :tapu-lele:
Wont go too in depth on this one, but its a high tempo offense that aims to use Kingambit + Blaziken to bust down just about anything to clean up with moth and lele. Lele can also function in the early game with future sight turns off lele's spatk/terrain being incredibly punishing. A few stylistic choices are psychic iron moth which aims to snipe toxapex teams that Blaziken struggles against and stone edge lando giving us a better punish on zapdos and luring molt for blaziken.

Round 2 (vs Spinoooo)

Truth be told, this mu did not really concern either of us, as Spinoooo seemed really consistent in their trends and could be easily exploited with diligent prep since they werent changing it up much. In particular, they had a 6 that is one of those classic ladder try to wall everything in as little slots and having a bunch of unwallable mons ( :clodsire: :corviknight: :slowbro: :ursaluna: :kingambit: :tapu-lele: ). This team had some fundamental flaws, although, vs unprepared opponents teams like these can easily dismantle them. Not to discredit Spinoooo too much here, clearly they are talented to get this far and qualify then make r2, but in a tournament setting, reusing & staying in your comfort zone can get dangerous quickly, so this set ended up being a masterclass in how to dismantle bulkier structures.

Meowscarada Sun

:charizard-mega-y: :hatterene: :meowscarada: :victini: :raging-bolt: :great-tusk:
This is a very old team (almost a year) and was used to good success last year in both invitational and NDLT. It won in both in sealoo vs Suzuya & omar vs seth and i was trying to look into some semi-sun structures for the modern day. Ultimately, i landed on this same 6 and decided to pitch it to Kayzn and he rocked with it. Its a very basic structure with the exception of Meowscarada, but the idea is the compression of more pon offensive proof, additional glisc cplay, and knock in one slot. We just rolled with it and it got a pretty abysmal matchup ngl, but with some good luck Kayzn was able to take this.

CM Psychium Lele + AV Bolt Offense (W) Click me for replay
:tapu-lele: :samurott-hisui: :raging-bolt: :landorus-therian: :cinderace: :kartana:
This team was DOPE, definitely my favorite we built. The primary objective is hazards + cm lele breaking things open for a kart lategame, with bolt as your blanket spd proof that can phase and rack hazards up on stuff like ting and chans in bulkier mus, while keeping volc out. Traditionally, sd hsam wants to do sucker last, but we opted for knock since on a team this hazard oriented, having a knock user that can function better in the early game is very important as kart doesnt necessarily love clicking it early and often giving something free entry. HJK cinderace may also seem like a weird choice, but its for the kill on kyurem, specs heatran in spinoooo's scout, and most importantly the terapagos kill once shell is broken. Alternatively, you can do wisp to deny dragonite entry since that mon is an awful mu for the squad. This game was played incredibly by Kayzn and showcased the team's strengths well

Our G3 was the g3 team from r1 but tpunch electrium blaziken lol

Round 3 (vs YouanMingxue)

Our primary objective was covering their sand that i dubbed greedy sand ( :gholdengo: :choice-scarf: :tyranitar-mega: :tapu-lele: :heavy-duty-boots: :urshifu: :choice-band: :zapdos: :excadrill: :steelium-z:) due to the absolute offensive onslaught with an offensive zapdos, double choice, and lele + ghold. HO was a slight concern, but that was more naturally covered by our structures.

Blaziken + Scarf Enamorus Offense
(W) Click me for replay
:blaziken: :ogerpon-wellspring: :hatterene: :enamorus: :landorus-therian: :kingambit:

Finally decided its time to unleash Blaziken, and holy shit this mon is SO broken. like every game kayzn sent me of testing this team it was just blaziken killing everything. seriously this mon is disgusting af rn. rest is basic offense core stuff, av hatt + lando give a decent backbone with enamorus to hwish blaziken or gambit and provide some speed, and ogerpon there for support vs stuff like tusk and treads. Mu looked a bit challenging but kayzn navigated it nicely

Sub SD Ogerpon + Mixed Zapdos BO (L) Click me for replay
:garchomp: :ogerpon-wellspring: :zapdos: :cinderace: :tapu-lele: :ferrothorn:
A more updated take on the classic Ferro + Spd chomp + Zap core with a few adaptations. Sub SD Oger is used to annihilate that sand team with more consistently exposing mola/pex so you can get in on them with cinderace uturns and get a free setup turn with sub as they usually like trying to toxic. Mixed Zap is an interesting tech primarily used to ease terapagos mu, with the spread avoiding the ice beam 2hko and giving at least some room to manuever the mu. Helm ferro is consistently just a piece of shit there isnt much to say there ngl, press is chosen for kingambit stopgap mainly which is an issue for the defensive core. Cool team, ferro/zap/chomp is a super nice core and i think these last 3 fill it out perfectly.

This game was quite the robbery, Kayzn played much better and shouldve won this series in 2 by all means. The sequence of hurricane miss + no static + first turn leech miss is sub 1% odds and if any of those go Kayzn's way he wouldve almost certainly had won this. I think you can argue going hard lele on tusk is more optimal since it eats HLR from speed boost tusk, but i think overall his line gives him great odds regardless, a shame it didnt pan out. Yes im coping still. Yes im very upset at this. Pokemon sucks sometimes...

Gliscor + AV Mola Balance (L) Click me for replay
:gliscor: :alomomola: :kyurem: :lopunny-mega: :tornadus-therian: :iron-treads:
Admittedly, it is very difficult to reinvent the wheel with Gliscor compositions but i ended up honing on this one. A problem with non-gliscpex glisc teams is usually yard, which is why i use this kyurem set that perfectly OHKOs yard with rock slide. Scarf kyu in general is a really solid set unironically, surprise factor and fast ice STAB is a great tool. Iron Treads is basic removal + rocks + Steel in one and helps with koko/bolt since our glisc is a bit more physdef leaning to help with gambit and such. Mlop helps proof vs offense and hos while torn breaks down bulkier balances and stalls with hazard support.

Msciz wasnt an oversight w this team, as it was originally a basic tox mola, but the poor msciz mu made me want scald mola to at least give us some cplay vs it. Also considered a heat wave boots torn at various points here asw as idbp zama > lop on the og version. HO is generally a pretty good mu for this team but just a really unfortunate pull there + no scald burn on 2 tries which isnt terrible unlucky, but definitely pretty annoying after g2 and a sad way to go out.

One more bonus team for the road, this was an original concept and it wouldve obliterated those hos but it just had a miserable mu vs cb shifu in testing which led to us replacing with the other balance. NEVER trust your gut??

Wisp + Roar Molt HStack

Overall, i think the tier is in a really solid state rn; all of ho, offense, bo, and balance are solid viable archetypes with plenty of options, but a lot of this variation is being hardly utilized in favor of lazy standard cookie cutter stuff.

Big thanks to my bro Kayzn for being fun to work with as always, gl to all left in NDLT and looking forward to NDPL! :blobwizard:

Knowing that I am the sun enthusiast of this tier, you guys probably expect me to post something like this...
View attachment 753398

Here are also some replays with these teams for context:

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9nationaldex-2380475765?p2

(Unfortunately, I didn't save my replays with the snow team during the moon reqs, my bad, but I can still provide a replay on my main to show how the team more or less plays).

Hopefully I get to post more teams in here that aren't just Scovillain sun.
I think this is great and all but where is scovillian

Now, this team is pretty new, and I have only tested it on ladder, plus I feel like it may need some tweeking in the future. But I've been craving Specs Scovillain for a while, so here is team, fresh from the oven. Try it out yourselves and let me know your toughts. (Would love some feedback)

Hello y'all I'm back again with a new team that I have been using that is taking the ladder by storm.
Now let me break the team down.

Main team core I decided to build with is Mega Venusaur and Hoopa Unbound this is a strong core from a older generation of Pokémon that I brought to national Dex OU.

My Defensive core is utilizing some of my favorite mons that provide a good pivot and counters to a lot of the meta. Bilssey and Alomola
Alomola provides a good physical defense switch in while paired with rocky helmet to give chip to the physical attackers that make contact with it, while also being able to wish pass for hoopa and the other members of my team. Blissey is a very strong Special wall that can pretty much on its on own wall a sun team.

The main speed control on my team is my scarfed Landorus providing a fast pivot intimidate drop and overall, a very good mon.

For the last pick of my team, I choose a Mon that has not been used in a while, but it enables this team to change the tides of battles if the team is losing, I put ditto on here, Ditto has come in clutch at times when a team is setting up. Ditto provides a very good supportive role to my team.

I look forward to the reviews on this team because its defiantly one of my best teams I feel I have made.
