Drifloon: This is a card I'm happy sees play, because the lighting here is very, very nice. I like the pose too.
Toedscool: Toedscool makes this cool scene just the right amount of goofy. The white background adds a lot, it helps the colors pop.
Sableye: Happy lil guy. Bright lights against a dark background will always catch my eye. The crystal on the left and the cluster on the right are drawn pretty differently, but both look amazing.
Chi-Yu ex: One of my favorites of all time. The intense orange lighting makes the forest look awash with flame, and also communicates Chi-Yu's great power like the legendary it is.
Kingambit: Light green and dark pink make a wonderful pair. The water's very pretty, too, and it all creates a beautiful scene for Kingambit to station itself in.
Charizard ex: I wish I could see this one without text, because I do think it gets very busy in the lower half, and the text certainly doesn't help. That said, I'm in love with EGAWA's take on Terastallization. Those wings are positively iridescent.
Omastar: Omastar is here for how it builds upon
the same set's Omanyte art. The pink lighting and the seaweed are the perfect choices to imply Omastar's heightened power.
Poliwhirl: This is just pure beauty, what else can I say, it's beautiful.
Gourgeist: Beautiful glowing flowers. Hand over your soul.
Espathra: EGAWA outdoes herself yet again. The deep blue sky, the swirling magic and sand, the brilliant sunrise. The lines in the sand are the perfect touch.
Gimmighoul: Cute. The light from the window providing the only color in the scene is a really cool effect.
Charizard ex: Sorry for being basic, but here's another Charizard. I love how it mirrors the OBF one without copying anything or losing any uniqueness.
Iron Thorns: I don't know if this makes sense to anyone else, but to me, this kind of shading and coloring screams "space". That is of course exactly the right look for a Paradox Pokemon of the distant future.
Iron Crown ex: All of this set's Paradox Pokemon have amazing SIRs, but Iron Crown is my favorite. It and Iron Leaves ex play very neatly with a huge moon in the background, so I'm a bit disappointed Iron Boulder ex didn't go a similar route. Anyway, there's some nice juxtaposition between the Pokemon's robotic body and the almost arcane-looking trees.
Milotic: Like the Drifloon, this Milotic is by Taira Akitsu, who is very good at this kind of serene pale background. The faint bubbles are a great choice.
Sinistcha ex: Beautiful, beautiful coloring. The green of the matcha stands out so well.
Rowlet: It's Rowlet. Ergo, it's cute.
Munkidori ex: This would already be my favorite on its own, but what elevates it even more is that the rest of the Loyal Three and Pecharunt share the same style. The big difference is that with the puppeteer, Pecharunt, the chains are a bright purple instead of being hidden in shadow. Good symbolism or something. Of the four, I chose Munkidori, because you see the chains the most and I love blue lighting.
Turtonator: Some more wonderfully vibrant fire from EGAWA. The jagged rocks in the background are quite unique.
Hydrapple ex: Cool theme on this one. Great execution, too. The colors work perfectly.
Paldean Tauros: Once again, I love the color pallate. Taiga Kasai often draws big sections with the same tone to great effect. With Tauros's glowing horns, I think it creates an amazing effect.
Skarmory: Pretty. The Skarmory is aggressively chrome, which I think is a fitting look for one of the oldest Steel-types.
Budew: I've made a post about this art. It's very nice and fits Budew very well, and I like how the art displays the pollen it's going to lock you out of the game with.
Flareon ex: I don't like that I like this card. I wish I could shun all the Eevees as decent cards pumped to the moon and back by the damn investors, their ridiculous artificial value owed only to the expectation that "Eevees are the chase cards". I mean, that's obviously true, but unfortunately the art is also really, really good. The rainbow border on Stellar Teras adds a lot to a lot of these SIRs.
Bombirdier: I don't like Bombirdier as a Pokemon, but this one looks great. For the thousandth time: nice color palate.
Wailord: This is an amazing way to show off Wailord's gargantuan size. Even the sun and mountains are made to look tiny.
Team Rocket's Zubat: Even a Zubat looks menacing under Team Rocket's command. The red tinge is nice, as are the light pouring down from above and the vast swarm on all sides.
Team Rocket's Moltres ex: Yeah.
Servine: The light's great and I like how it's concentrated behind Servine's head. The ivy looks beautiful.
Sandile: It's so cool to show under the sand like this. Really unique stuff.
Ferrothorn: I like the way it's just hanging straight down. The dull and mossy look of the stone fits Ferrothorn well.
Sewaddle: Those are some incredibly vibrant colors on display, all for the little Sewaddle to marvel at. I love the wonder in its eyes.
