Aphex Twin - Ventolin
Despite my ever-growing love for Richard D. James and his assorted musical experiments, i've never liked this song. This song was my first real foray into his music (not counting the 15 billion liminal space tiktoks that use QKThr as the background song or whatever the hell gerbil was doing last year) and I would have much preferred like... any other song of his. Something like Blackbox Life Recorder 21f or Vordhosbn would have been more in line with what I listen to already and songs like Bucephalus Bouncing Ball, a song composed almost entirely with a chopped up sample of a ball falling on a hard surface and bouncing until it stops, is a generally more palatable intro to his style of making music. Comparatively, Ventolin, a song inspired by the tinnitus caused as a side effect of the medicine of the same name, is about what you would expect from that decision.

This is a great post even if I disagree with you on a few things.
In your first category, I forgot about Ice JJ Fish even being a thing lol, think I first got introduced to him on Tosh.O back in the day with the iconic “there’s something about you gurrrrllll” line lol. Good pull.
For the second category I really don’t think Friday is all that bad anymore, there was a big hate bandwagon back in the day and it’s not good but it could be worse. It’s like how people rag on Nickleback even though it’s not thaaaat bad (though I would still prefer Nickleback to Friday).
I have a funny story about The Christmas Shoes. At one of my old jobs we were having an end of year party and they had an open playlist that you could add songs to. It was all like actual party music/Top 40 and they just played the playlist in order. So I added three songs… I slotted in The Christmas Shoes right between Danza Kaduro and Jump Around. The WHIPLASH people felt when it came to that part of the playlist had to be seen to be believed.
Also my mom owns a DVD of the movie based off the song (also titled The Christmas Shoes) so I watch it every year around the holidays. It’s mid.
I haven’t heard of any of the songs in the third category. Maybe better that way lol
In the fourth category I’m going to agree with you on Counting Stars, it gets stuck in my head every now and then and I can’t stand it. Nowhere near the level of hate that I feel for the songs listed in the OP but nice add. Kids however… dude that is prime MGMT I love that song. Hard disagree.
Unpopular opinion but I lowkey love songs used in drug commercials. I actually tweeted on my personal account not too long ago about the Jardiance one being a banger. Like, the concept of being marketed these drugs via happy cheery commercials is more than a little weird but I’ll be damned if the tunes aren’t good. I’ll give a shoutout to Wegovy and Skyrizi as well (side note: Skyrizi would be a great name for a rapper IMO).
Last category I just have to warn people about Crazy Bus. Like that theme will actually make your head hurt. Listener beware.
