Hi there! Just a quick introduction—I've been playing VGC since the end of 2013 and have competed in every format since then. Lately, I've been playing consistently, recently finishing 25th in the last VGC Smogon Tour. I've also had strong performances in previous formats, though unfortunately, I haven't been able to attend any major tournaments.

and yet I did not get picked! Once again I am being treated unfairly by the captains bias towards accomplished and good players. What a shame!
Maybe early since the tournament is still ongoing, but i have been a huge fan of the tournament structure and format selection so far. Imo 6 teams and 5 weeks strikes a really good medium where each game/week is important but the tournament is long enough that it doesn't feel like a flash in the pan. The format selection in particular has been stellar in my view. 09 has been a pleasant surprise for me, it's been exciting to watch the games (which feel like good, traditional vgc with its own little twist to it with no preview) and truly see this meta develop even on a week to week basis. 13 is a great representation of gen 5, as is 14 with gen 6. I dont want to get too ahead of myself but I think keeping one of each for gen 5 and gen 6 all make sense given their age (with the player base discussing which they want to see each year, 13 and 14 are the safest but would love to see 11/12 and 15 get some love at some point). 17 and 19u are great as usual (the 17 player base was especially strong this time around). I'm personally not a fan of 21 but i understand its place in the tournament and have love for its clearly dedicated player base. 22 is a great include for the transition to post covid. Reg C did its job this time around but maybe next time we'll have a different gen 9 format to choose from (maybe reg d or reg i?). Didnt mean for this to turn into a super long post but wanted to share my love for this tournament this year and in general and how I think we can keep it fresh. Thanks to everyone involved!

Just want to second that as a long as we have a playerbase, 09 is a nice addition to the pool. I'd say over 95% of the playerbase hasn't played it and it's been fun to see it. Even 13 for me has been interesting to look at (from an outside "i'm not the one getting paraslept" prespective). I'd keep these two for sure in the future.
