Question: Does the Smogon community frown uppon the use of the IV checking code?
Most of the time, no. But there are people who frown upon it.

I am just getting into uber battling and i decided to SR for a good mewtwo. I was using the serebii IV calculator and i got a Mewtwo with average IVs that look like this

Timid nature 20/30/20/31/26/30 hp/atk/def/satk/sdef/spd

Wich i thought was a pretty good mewtwo so i saved, but then i saw that the calculator said that the minumum speed IV was 30 and the max was 31. So my question is how do I find out wich one it is?

Is there a more exact calculator or what?
Try MEtalkids. Enter the stats and calculate its Ivs, and Metalkid will tell you the next helpful level.

A hacked Pokemon is one who is hacked to have better stats than normal, or moves that it can't learn. You can also hack a Pokemon so it's shiny, or hack it's EVs.

Usually all we care about is hacking that effects stats, because a hacked Pokemon that's only hacked to be shiny doesn't affect it's battling.

@ your last paragraph: Obviously, they also care about illegal moves hacking as well.

Question: Is the item clause no longer standard? I was having trouble building teams around it, and I had gotten mixed answers to this question.

I don't think that it does. According to Serebii, you can only get it from an event.

But, I thought that you could get it in the Space Tower in Mossdeep in R/S/E...

Jolly Klutz Buneary...(Female Nevertheless)
28/29/31/31/29/31

OR

Female Adamant Gible with Outrage
31/29/14/31/27/31

Male Bold Feebas with Hypnosis
31/10/27/29/31/20

I HAVE to choose... Nuff said.

i need an answer in 30 minutes (hopefully less) before i leave to a party. does inserting your game to a different ds, then checking your friend code, then turning off the ds w/o saving, then putting it back change the friend code?

No. You have to put it in another DS and connect to WiFi to change the friend code.

Every time you change DSs and go on WiFi, your Friend Code will change, and your Pal Pad will be erased.

ok. so does that mean i still have the same code when i change back? because there is a crack in my ds blocking my friend code so i cant trade the things ive bred. i was hoping to find someone in the party with a ds then borrow it for a second.

Modest, HP Ice or Grass. Smogon's movesets for Heatran all have Modest, so that's a good choice. HP Ice and Grass are good to counter things that can kill Heatran.

Anybody have any tips on other team members for a Raikou team? I want it to be extremely effective in utilizing raikou for a sweep.

One I already hear a lot for a kou team is dugtrio, any others?

I have a question, what damage calculator is the most accurate? I've heard that metalkid's has some problems so I want to know which one I should use.
Here's a few to look into:
  • Pokémon Diamond/Pearl Damage Calculator by AMF - This online calculator shows the damage at every random number and includes pretty much everything, but it doesn't show percentages. It's simple and very easy to use for quick calculations if you remember/calculate the stats with something else.
  • http://www.phyll1s.org/javascript/dp_damage_calculator.htm - I couldn't tell you who made this online calculator, but it's similar to AMF's calculator and shows ranges and percentages of damage. I'll tell you right now: it doesn't work properly in my Internet Explorer 7.0, but it worked fine in Firefox.
  • Pokemon Resource by yours truly - I know it sounds like I'm tooting my own horn, but the damage calculator in my resource shows the damage at every random number and shows percentages. It has no Double Battle functionality, though. It's idiot-proof, for the most part. It's also more complex than the other two and (IMO) MetalKid's. It was also made in Microsoft Excel; you'll have to download it. If you don't have Excel, well, it'll still open in OpenOffice, but some work has to be done to make it work properly. I should have an OpenOffice version available come next update.
Crap, just looking at the length of each description, that seems biased, but oh well. Each has their strengths and weaknesses. (I did make more of an effort to show the weaknesses of my calculator, though.)

EDIT: Oh, check Contributions and Corrections for other D/P Damage Calculators. Xenon has one as well as timw06 (sp?) and Obi, among others.
