Swarm - Bug types
Storm Drain - Water types

I'm not exactly sure if they really work, but I sure did get a lot of Scythers and Corsolas using them.

Does anyone know how a Pokémon's characteristic is determined if it has two or more highest IVs? Not just "random", if it was random then its characteristic would change every time you look at its stats. Does it depend on the personality value?

From what I know it is random, it probably doesn't change because the game stores redundant data so it must have a byte to store the characteristic and another for storing the IVs.
Well at least I've read everywhere that it is random.

I want to know the actual formula so I can fully implement it into a game I'm making.
I'll just have to settle with what I have now, which isn't perfect - I think it ends up with certain natures having the same characteristic if they have the same IVs. Here's a screenshot of what I've managed to do with characteristics so far:
Screenshot032.png

It should be pretty accurate to the DP ones, except for when the Pokémon has two best IVs.

EDIT: It's IVs are 17/18/20/14/29/27

EDIT 2: I've just realised that it's slightly off, as I didn't put the characteristics in the right order. *edits scripts*

EDIT 3: That's weird, something's not working properly.

EDIT 4: Fixed.

2 questions.

1. Is it true that synchronize doesn't work for 3rd Gen Legends?
2. Is it true that the IVs for Legendary Dogs in FR/LG are always bad?

Ok, I tried to make my own empolean set, tell me if it's good or not.
Here's my empolean in the making I just bred.

modest
13/4/31/31/31/30
hp psychic 68

I was thinking to utilize the hp I'd make this set with it.

Empolean@ focus sash
evs: 252 sATK; 128 def; 128 sp.def
hp psychic
surf
ice beam
grass knot

I used hp psychic instead of ground or electric to kill those fighting types that try to come kill it. Focus sash is for those hera's that try to spam close combat on it and think they can live. The others are for standard coverage. I know it's rather risky substituting the specs for a sash, but it is rather essential for this set. Speed is low, and I'm aware of that. With this bulkiness, and this sp.atk, it's bound to cause some damage. You guys think it's good?

EDIT: with those ivs the stats at 100 would be these:

291-hp
162-atk
244-def
353-sp.atk
270-sp.def
155-spd

90% of the time, Focus Sash would be useless, and you probably wouldn't want to stay in on a Heracross, anyways. HP Psychic would be better to just catch something on the switch.

anyone have an opinion?
Nothing is really necessary because IIRC the standard CM set is Softboiled, BoltBeam, CM.

So you're saying it would be better with lefties/specs? I only put sash for pokes like hera, infernape, blaziken, etc. You are right though in saying that it's good for catching things on a switch. It could really hurt those brelooms switching in, or the hitmons/machamp.(if they aren't the lead)

i want my alakazam to get HP electric. i put it through shoddy and it insist on giving me 30 sp.atk IV's. me no likey. can anyone give me a good spread, with 31 in Sp. Atk and speed that gives me HP elec?

I really want to know this. Can you SR for a FC? I want 1337 6969 1337

Not a joke

Yes, if you have two DS's. Each time you use WiFi with your cart in the other DS it will clear all of the Friend Codes in your Pal Pad and change your friend code.

So, to soft reset just keep switching your cart between the two DS's and connecting to WiFi.

Use this: http://www.psypokes.com/dex/hp.php
I'm pretty sure Sp. Attack has to be even for HP Electric.

Can a Pokemon's happiness decrease if you leave it in a box for a while? I want to increase the happiness so I can use Return, but it's kind of useless if it just goes down after being in a box. =.=
